Research workers have analysed 92 cases of acute delirium in their country and have tried to bring out of their studies the particular aspects which are sources of many diagnostical errors: --factors which cause anxiety and lead to depressive states in Europe, but which destroy quickly the consciousness of some personalities still to be defined in Madagascar; --poor delirium in the tropics with little or no reaction at all makes the diagnostic very difficult.
