RESUMO
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo analítico de casos y controles en el Policlínico Docente Luís Li Trigent del municipio Güines, provincia La Habana en el año 2008, con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de algunas variables antropométricas en los niños bajo peso al nacer,el estudio estuvo conformado por todos los niños nacidos en el año 2008 con un peso inferior a los 2500g,constituido por 14 niños el cual seria el grupo control y se seleccionó otro grupo de niños con un peso superior a los 2500g de forma aleatoria simple conformado por 14 niños, Integrando el estudio un total de 28 niños. Los datos para el estudio de las variables seleccionadas peso, talla, circunferencia cefálica y edad en meses, se tomaron de la historia clínica individual del niño al nacimiento y de las consultas de puericultura realizadas en el primer año de vida. Se utilizó el software estadístico InfoStat 2001 V1, para el procesamiento de los datos.Los niños nacidos con peso inferior a 2500g tuvieron una ganancia de peso favorable en el primer año de vida. El crecimiento longitudinal en recién nacidos de bajo peso alcanzó unir las curvas antes del primer año de vida siendo superior al de los niños con peso adecuado. La circunferencia cefálica al año de edad presentó cifras similares en ambos grupos de estudio (AU)
It was conducted a descriptive and analytical study of cases and controls in Luis Li Trigent Teaching Polyclinic of Güines municipality, Havana Province in 2008, with the aim of determining the behavior of some anthropometric variables in low-birth-weight children, The study consisted of all the children born in 2008 with a weight less than 2500g, consisting of 14 children which would be the control group and it was selected another group of children weighing more than 2500g in a simple random way made of 14 children, integrating the study a total of 28 children. Data for the study of selected variables weight, height, cephalic circumference and age in months, were taken from the individual medical history of children at birth and from Puericulture consultations carried out in the first year of life. It was used the statistical software InfoStat 2001 V1, for the processing of data. Children born weighing less than 2500g had a favorable weight gain in the first year of life. Longitudinal growth in low-birth-weight children could unite the curves before the first year of life, being superior to that of children with adequate weight. Cephalic circumference at age1 presented similar numbers in both study groups (AU)
