RESUMO
The results of NSE purification procedure, as well as hybridoma technology of anti NSE monoclonal antibodies synthesis are presented. The employment of this procedure yielded highly purified NSE preparation. The immunization of BALB/C mice with NSE preparation led to sensitization of the immunocompetent cells, which could form hybridomes, producing the anti-NSE monoclonal antibodies, after the confluence with myeloma cells Sp 2/0-Ag 14. The ELISA test-system for NSE analysis was developed on the basis of highly purified NSE preparation and monoclonal anti-NSE antibodies. This system was characterized by high specificity, accuracy and reliability. This system may be recommended for analysis of blood-brain barrier functions in the neurological and psychiatric diseases.

The study of the PSA complexes with the protease inhibitors has confirmed the opinion of possible existence the complexes of the PSA with a2-macroglobulins and a1-antihymotripsines in blood serum. The immunoenzyme analysis of the PSA and its complexes has made it possible to establish the normal level of the PSA corresponding complexes in donors blood serum. There are reasons to suppose, that the quantitative analysis of the PSA and its complexes with the protease inhibitors can be used for the early diagnosis of PC and its differential diagnosis with the prostate benign hyperplasia. In our opinion, the effect of the complex approach can be more informative than the ordinary PSA detection.

320 mg of serpense was given daily to 24 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) for 2 months. Control check-ups were performed each 30 days. The effect was judged by the patient's condition (I-PSS), quality of life, residual urine, the gland size, urodynamic picture and level of prostatic specific antigen (PSA). The response of BPH to serpense was noticeable, especially at the first stage of the disease (66.7%). Reduced serum PSA in serpense-treated patients may be explained by peripheral selective inhibition of 5 alpha-reductase or, rather, by anti-inflammatory action of the drug. Antidropsical and antiinflammatory actions of serpense suggest its possible efficacy in chronic prostatitis.

Interorganic and neurospecific liquor proteins were measured in brain injury patients using enzyme immunoassay and radioimmunoassay (maximum sensitivity 2.0 and 0.05-1 ng/ml, respectively). The protein concentrations were found to vary with the time which elapsed since the injury.

The results of treatment of 72 patients with ampullary choledocholithiasis (16% of the total number of patients with choledocholithiasis) are presented. In 15 patients, bringing down a concrement was performed, in 3--its retrograde removal via the incision of the common bile duct with subsequent creation of choledochoduodenoanastomosis (CDA), in 24--endoscopic papillosphincterotomy (with subsequent cholecystectomy--in 6, with cholecystectomy and CDA creation--in 18), in 30--cholecystectomy with transduodenal papillosphincteroplasty. After the operation, 5 patients died.

The immunoenzyme detection systems for the measurement of the alpha-2 globulin of the brain (alpha 2M) and glial fibrillary acidic antigens (GFAP) were developed. These systems were used for the study of the penetration through hemato-encephalic barrier in rats subjected to gamma radiation. This method is recommended for the indirect evaluation of the hemato-encephalic barrier functional disorders.

On the basis of an analysis of rentgeno-morphological investigations of the thoracic lymphatic duct (TLD) in 115 patients with complications of hepatocirrhosis and 50 postmortem observations the authors make a conclusion that one of the main factors of the development of insufficiency of TLD in hepatocirrhosis is an excess of lymph resulting in congestion in the duct. It may be considered as a cause for drainage of the TLD in patients with hepatocirrhosis.
