RESUMO
Se realizó un estudio pre-experimental de un solo grupo para evaluar el efecto de la acupuntura en el inicio del trabajo de parto en pacientes con embarazo prolongado normal, ingresadas en el Servicio de Cuidados Perinatales del Hospital General Docente de Morón en el período comprendido entre enero de 2008 a octubre de 2010. El universo estuvo constituido por las gestantes con diagnóstico de embarazo prolongado normal ingresadas en el período y lugar antes mencionado, la muestra quedó constituida por 173 que cumplieron los requisitos pre establecidos para el estudio. El tratamiento consistió en 3 sesiones de acupuntura en los puntos Ig4, E36 y B6. Iniciado el trabajo de parto se interrumpió la técnica, de ser necesario otro protocolo de seguimiento se esperaron 24 horas. Al finalizar el estudio se encontró que la mayor frecuencia de pacientes con embarazo prolongado osciló entre 19 y 34 años, principalmente en mujeres nulíparas y de raza blanca. El mayor por ciento de las gestantes necesitó de 3 sesiones del tratamiento para iniciar el trabajo de parto. La respuesta al mismo se evaluó como satisfactoria en la mayoría de los casos. No se reportaron reacciones adversas y solo una minoría de las embarazadas no quedó satisfecha con la terapia aplicada (AU)
A pre-experimental study of a group was carried out to evaluate the effect of the acupuncture in the beginning of the obstetric labor in patients with normal long pregnancy, admitted at the Perinatal Care Service at "Capitán Roberto Rodriguez Fernández" General Teaching Hospital in Moron, between January, 2008 to October, 2010.The universe was constituted by pregnant with diagnosis of normal long pregnancy admitted in the period and place mentioned before, remaining constituted the sample by 173 that fulfilled the pre established requirement for the study. The treatment consisted of three acupuncture meetings using the points Ig4, E36 and B6.Initiated the obstetric labor it was interrupted the skill and another monitoring protocol if necessary it was expected 24 hours. At the end of the study, it was found that the biggest frequency of patients with long pregnancy ranged between 1934 years presenting more in nulliparous women and white race. The biggest percent of pregnants needed three acupuncture treatment meetings to initiate the obstetric labor; the answer to the treatment was satisfactory in most of the cases. Adverse reactions were not brought and only a minority of the pregnant women did not remain satisfied with the applied therapeutic (AU)
