RESUMO

Modem immunopathogenetic concepts of tuberculosis infection are summarized. Th1-mediated immune response is shown to play a leading role in the formation of antituberculosis immunity. Cytokine balance (especially that of interferon-y) has marked influence on the outcome of infection. The data on efficiency of modern immunotropic drugs suggest advantages of interferon inductors, in the first place cyclopheron, for pathogenetic therapy. Cyclopheron participates in regulation of endogenous interferon-gamma production and thereby in activation of TH1-mediated immune response that accelerates abacillation, closes cavities in organs undergoing degeneration, and improves the X-ray picture. A succinate-containing cyclopheron solution was shown to positively change the cytokine profile and X-ray structure of respiratory organs in patients with tuberculosis.

RESUMO

The results of a study of the efficiency of treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis C conducted in a complex of multicenter clinical trials of the impact of various antiviral therapy regimens including the interferon genesis inductor cycloferon are reviewed. Four hundred and seventy-eight patients with hepatitis C virus infection were followed up. The study has demonstrated that the incorporation of cycloferon into the standard treatment regimen, which is manifested by the effect of drug synergism, by producing antiviral, immunomodulating, and antifibrotic effects, is a promising pharmacotherapy for chronic hepatitis C. This treatment is economically sound, reduces the incidence and degree of adverse reactions and increases the quality of life in the patients.

RESUMO

The summarized data on the biological activity of acridoneacetic acid, a low-molecular interferon inducer are presented: the amount and type of induced interferon, producer cells, interaction with viruses; the antiviral, antitumoral and anti-inflammatory activity of the preparation has been demonstrated. The specific features of interferon induction by virus (a biological inducer), in contrast to acridoneacetic acid (a chemical inducer) have been noted. The possible mechanisms of interferon induction by low-molecular interferonogen are considered. A number of interferonogens, salts of acridoneacetic acid, proposed as medicinal preparations are considered. The results of the clinical use of Cycloferon, a medicinal form of acridoneacetic acid, are presented.
