RESUMO

Liver injury with tetrachloromethane in white rats is accompanied by accumulation of hydroperoxides in the blood plasma and liver tissue and suppression of antioxidant system (the activity of superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, contents of SH-groups and total phospholipids drastically decreases). Ceruloplasmin level in plasma, on the contrary, increases. Enterosorbent SUGS-E in a dose of 19 g/kg partially normalizes violated balance between the activity of free radical processes and state of the antioxidant protection system.

RESUMO

The total proteolytic activity in blood and tissues and peroxide resistance of erythrocytes were studied in animals at different stages of burn disease. Carbaton, an antioxidant of a pyridine series, is analyzed for its effect on these indices. Considerable activation of proteolysis in tissues and a decrease of the erythrocyte resistance at burn shock and septicotoxemia stages are established. Carbaton being applied as a drug, influences positively the studied processes; a degree of the shift correction depends on the preparation dose.

RESUMO

The burn disease increases the intensity of lipid peroxidation in the guinea pigs plasma and liver. Under these conditions in the liver the content of ascorbic acid lowers and a high level of reduced glutathione is maintained due to an increase in the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity. Disproteinemia is observed in plasma. Administration of alpha-tocopherol and sodium selenite to animals with the burn disease inhibits lipids peroxidation, favours the retaining of the ascorbic acid content in the liver tissue, prevents a compensatory increase in the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity and a rise in the level of reduced glutathione. It also weakens disproteinemia in plasma.
