RESUMO

The meta-analysis aimed to explore the effects of mobile phone applications on weight-related, behavior, and metabolic outcomes among adults with overweight and obesity. Six databases were searched for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published between January 1, 2010 and November 7, 2023 in English. Two independent authors conducted study selection, data extraction, quality assessment. The effect size of interventions was calculated using mean difference. A random-effects model was applied for data analysis. A total of 27 studies were included. The results indicated that mobile phone application intervention reduced weight (MD=-1.38 kg, P<0.001, 95% CI -1.97 to -0.80), BMI (MD=-0.44 kg/m2, P<0.001, 95% CI -0.57 to -0.30), WC (MD=-2.13 cm, P=0.004, 95% CI -3.57 to -0.69), fat mass, and DBP (MD=-2.04 mmHg, P=0.01, 95% CI -3.65 to 0.44) with statistical significance. Future studies could consider how to optimize app interventions through behavior change strategies to enhance their overall effectiveness.

Two Gram-stain-negative, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, motile bacterial strains, designated F26243T and F60267T were isolated from coastal sediment in Weihai, China. Strains F26243T and F60267T were grown at 4-40 °C (optimum 33 °C), pH 7.0-9.5 and pH 6.5-9.5 (optimum at pH 7.0), in the presence of 1.0-7.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2.5%) and 1.0-12.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2.0%), respectively. The 16S rRNA gene sequences phylogenetic analysis showed that strains F26243T and F60267T are closely related to the genus Marinobacter and exhibited the highest sequence similarities to Marinobacter salexigens HJR7T (97.7% and 98.0%, respectively), the similarity between two isolates was 96.7%. Strains F26243T and F60267T displayed genomic DNA G + C content of 53.6% and 53.8%, respectively. When compared to the M. salexigens HJR7T, the average nucleotide identity (ANI) values were 83.7% and 84.1%, and the percentage of conserved proteins (POCP) values were 79.9% and 84.6%, respectively. Ubiquinone 9 (Q-9) was the only respiratory quinone detected in both isolates. The major cellular fatty acids (> 10.0%) were summed feature 3 (comprising C16:1ω7c and/or C16:1ω6c), C16:0 and C18:1ω9c. The polar lipid profiles of strains F26243T and F60267T contained diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidyldimethylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, aminophospholipid and one unidentified phospholipid. Based on genomic characteristics, phenotypic and chemotaxonomic, strains F26243T and F60267T represent two novel species of the genus Marinobacter, for which the names Marinobacter sediminicola sp. nov. and Marinobacter xiaoshiensis sp. nov. are proposed, the type strains are F26243T (= KCTC 92640T = MCCC 1H01345T) and F60267T (= KCTC 92638T = MCCC 1H01346T).

Intraneuronal inclusions of alpha-synuclein (α-synuclein, α-syn) are commonly found in the brain of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). The pathogenesis of the abundant α-syn protein in the blood has been extensively studied to understand its properties better. In recent years, peptidome analysis has received increasing attention. In this study, we identified and analyzed serum peptides from wild-type (WT) and the (Thy-1)-h[A30P] alpha-synuclein transgenic mice (SNCA-A30P mice) using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). One thousand eight hundred fifty-six peptides from 771 proteins were analyzed. Among them, 151 peptides from 107 proteins were significantly differentially expressed. The glycoprotein VI platelet pathway (GP6) was the pathway's most significant differentially expressed signaling pathway. Cleavage sites of the differentially expressed peptides may reflect protease distribution and activity. We selected the most significantly differentially expressed peptide, VGGDPI, and found that it contained cathepsin K (Ctsk) and trypsin-1 cleavage sites, suggesting that Ctsk and trypsin-1 may be key peptidases in PD. α-syn is a protein associated with the pathogenesis of PD. mutations in several genes, including SNCA, which encodes α-syn, are associated with the development of PD. Bioinformatics analysis of the physiological pathways related to SNCA genes and apoptosis genes found the five most markedly up-regulated proteins: formin homology 2 domain-containing 1 (FHOD1), insulin receptor substrate 1(IRS1), TRPM8 channel-associated factor 1 (TCAF1), glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), and interleukin-16 (IL-16). Therefore, the differentially expressed peptides in the five precursor protein domains may be potential bioactive peptides associated with α-syn and apoptosis. This study provides a validated peptidomics profile of SNCA-A30P mice and identifies potentially bioactive peptides linked to α-syn and apoptosis.

Although the engineering of visible-light-driven photocatalysts with appropriate bandgap structures is beneficial for generating hydrogen (H2), the construction of heterojunctions and energy band matching are extremely challenging. In this study, In2O3@Ni2P (IO@NP) heterojunctions are attained by annealing MIL-68(In) and combining the resulting material with NP via a simple hydrothermal method. Visible-light photocatalysis experiments validate that the optimized IO@NP heterojunction exhibits a dramatically improved H2 release rate of 2485.5 µmol g-1 h-1 of 92.4 times higher than that of IO. Optical characterization reveals that the doping of IO with an NP component promotes the rapid separation of photo-induced carriers and enables the capture of visible light. Moreover, the interfacial effects of the IO@NP heterojunction and synergistic interaction between IO and NP that arises through their close contact mean that plentiful active centers are available to reactants. Notably, eosin Y (EY) acts as a sacrificial photosensitizer and has a significant effect on the rate of H2 generation under visible light irradiation, which is an aspect that needs further improvement. Overall, this study describes a feasible approach for synthesizing promising IO-based heterojunctions for use in practical photocatalysis.

Objective:To analyze the medication law of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fumigation and washing to promote postoperative healing of hemorrhoids by data mining technology.Methods:The clinical literature about TCM fumigation and washing to promote postoperative healing of hemorrhoids was retrieved from the databases of CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, PubMed from the establishment of the databases to March 10, 2022. The frequency efficacy attributes, core medicinal pairs and core prescriptions of TCM were analyzed by using the Ancient and Modern Medical Records Cloud Platform (V2.3.5).Results:A total of 299 articles were included, involving 200 kinds of Chinese materia medica. The drugs used at high frequency ≥40 were Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex, Natrii Sulfas, Galla Chinensis and Rhei Radix et Rhizoma and so on. The main efficacy was to clear heat and reduce dampness; cold, warm and slightly cold were the main medicinal properties, and the tastes were mainly bitter, pungent, sweet and sour, and most of the drugs return to the liver meridian, stomach meridian, heart meridian, large intestine meridian and so on. A total of 22 rules were obtained by correlation analysis. Five groups of drugs were obtained by clustering analysis. The core prescription drugs obtained by complex network analysis included Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex, Natrii Sulfas, Galla Chinensis, Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, Taraxaci Herba, Borneolum Syntheticum, Sanguisorbae Radix, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Carthami Flos, Scutellariae Radix, Olibanum, Myrrha, and Lonicerae Japonicae Flos. Conclusion:TCM fumigation and washing can promote the postoperative healing of hemorrhoids mainly by clearing heat and reducing dampness and detoxification, as well as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and relieving pain, restraining sore and generating muscle.

A Gram-stain-negative, orange, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped marine bacterium, designated as 2V75T, was isolated from the coastal sediment of Xiaoshi Island, Weihai, China. The strain 2V75T grew at 20-45 °C (optimum, 37 °C), from pH 7.0 to 9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and in the presence of 0.5-5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3%). Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain 2V75T was affiliated to the genus Robiginitalea and had the highest sequence similarity with R. biformata KCTC 12146T (93.7%). The ANI values between strain 2V75T and R. biformata KCTC 12146T were 72.6%, respectively. The DNA G + C content was 54.8 mol%. MK-6 was the only respiratory quinone. Based on the phenotypic, phylogenetic and chemotaxonomic data, strain 2V75T should be classified as a novel species in the genus Robiginitalea, for which the name Robiginitalea marina is proposed. The type strain is 2V75T (= KCTC 92035T = MCCC 1H00484T).

Objective:To analyze the relationship between the high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and anxiety levels in patients hospitalized with cardiovascular-related diseases and hypertension.Methods:A total of 221 patients hospitalized with cardiovascular-related diseases in the Fuwai Hospital were selected by a voluntary sampling method from September to December 2021. Participants were divided into hypertensive and non-hypertensive groups ( n=119 and n=102) based on the diagnosis of hypertension in their inpatient medical records. Anxiety levels were assessed using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, and the levels of serum hs-CRP were estimated by automatic immunoanalyzer. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between hs-CRP and anxiety. Results:In the hypertensive group, the risk of anxiety in patients with abnormal hs-CRP (>3 mg/L) was 4.239 times (95% CI: 1.569-11.748, P=0.005) higher than those in normal hs-CRP (≤3 mg/L). In turn, compared with patients without anxiety, those with anxiety had 3.878 times greater probability of experiencing abnormal hs-CRP (95% CI: 1.495-10.062, P=0.005), while those with mild anxiety and moderate to severe anxiety had 4.525 times (95% CI: 1.392-14.714, P=0.012) and 3.286 times (95% CI: 0.911-11.357, P=0.070) greater odds of experiencing abnormal hs-CRP, respectively. No similar significant association was seen in the non-hypertensive group. Conclusion:There is an interrelationship between elevated hs-CRP and anxiety in hospitalized patients with cardiovascular-related diseases and hypertension.

OBJECTIVE@#To study the binding target of photosensitizer and bacteria in antimicrobial photodynamic therapy with computer-simulated target prediction and molecular docking research methods and to calculate the binding energy.@*METHODS@#The protein names of Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) were obtained and summarized in Uniprot database and RCSB PDB database; the structure diagrams of methy-lene blue were screened in SciFinder database, PubChem database, ChemSpider database, and Chemical Book, and ChemBioDraw software was used to draw and confirm the three-dimensional structure for target prediction and Cytoscape software was used to build a visual network diagram; a protein interaction network was searched and built between the methylene blue target and the common target of Pg in the String database; then we selected FimA, Mfa4, RgpB, and Kgp K1 proteins, used AutoDock software to calculate the docking energy of methylene blue and the above-mentioned proteins and performed molecular docking.@*RESULTS@#The target prediction results showed that there were 19 common targets between the 268 potential targets of methylene blue and 1 865 Pg proteins. The 19 targets were: groS, radA, rplA, dps, fabH, pyrG, thyA, panC, RHO, frdA, ileS, bioA, def, ddl, TPR, murA, lepB, cobT, and gyrB. The results of the molecular docking showed that methylene blue could bind to 9 sites of FimA protein, with a binding energy of -6.26 kcal/mol; with 4 sites of Mfa4 protein and hydrogen bond formation site GLU47, and the binding energy of -5.91 kcal/mol, the binding energy of LYS80, the hydrogen bond forming site of RgpB protein, was -5.14 kcal/mol, and the binding energy of 6 sites of Kgp K1 protein and the hydrogen bond forming site GLY1114 of -5.07 kcal/mol.@*CONCLUSION@#Computer simulation of target prediction and molecular docking technology can initially reveal the binding, degree of binding and binding sites of methylene blue and Pg proteins. This method provides a reference for future research on the screening of binding sites of photosensitizers to cells and bacteria.

Objective To evaluate efficacy and safety of retrograde intrarenal stone surgery for treatment of upper urinary calculi.Methods The clinical data of 640 patients with upper urinary tract calculi treated by retrograde intrarenal stone surgery (RIRS) in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University from April 2016 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.There were 424 males and 216 females.The awerage age was (46.2 ± 12.8) years old,ranging 18 to 76 years old.The maximum diameter of the stone is (1.4 ±0.7) cm,ranging 0.6-3.2 cm.There were 126 cases with inferior calculi and 514 cases with non-lurgical calculi.There were 196 cases with unilateral ureteral calculi,118 unilateral ureteral calculi cases with renal calculi,236 cases with unilateral renal stones,and 90 cases with double kidney stones.104 cases were placed with double J tube before operation and 496 cases were not placed before operation.There were 8 cases of horseshoe kidney,30 cases of isolated kidney with renal insufficiency,4 cases of pelvic ectopic kidney with dysplasia,6 cases of congenital ureteral malformation and 2 cases of sponge kidney.Preoperative average hemoglobin was (133.2 + 5.6) g/L,ranging 126-188 g/L.And average serum creatinine was (84.4 + 12.2) μmol/L,ranging 74-242μmol/L before operation.All patients were treated with general anesthesia under the lithotomy position.The ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy was performed.The 200tμm fiber was used,which the parameters were set as 12-45 W(0.5-1.5 J/10-30 Hz).The stone baskets were used to take stones according to actual conditions.The operation was performed by doctors of the same qualifications.Results All patients underwent successful operation.The mean operation time was (45.6 + 14.6) min.The average postoperative hospitalization was (4.8 ± 1.5) d.The postoperative serious complication rate was 0.9%,including(2 cases of sepsis and 1 case of subcapsular hematoma.Of the 640 patients,596 were admitted to the hospital for a double J tube and 44 were lost of follow-up.552 patients met the stone removal criteria,44 patients did not meet the stone removal criteria for other treatments,such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy,ureteroscopy or observed regularly.The stone-free rate (SFR) was 92.6% (552/596) after 1-3 months.On the first postoperative day,serum creatinine was (76.0 ±10.6) (58-156) μmol/L,and postoperative hemoglobin was (126.4 ±9.6) (120-176) g/L.There was no significant difference in preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin (t =2.02,P =0.064).Preoperative and postoperative creatinine (t =64.76,P < 0.05) was statistically significant.Meanwhile,the stone size (x2 =29.569,P < 0.05) and position (x2 =44.949,P < 0.05) versus SFR the impact was statistically significant.Multivariate regression analysis showed that stone size was not an independent risk factor for stone clearance (P =0.639).The stone position was an independent risk factor for stone clearance (P =0.013).Conclusions RIRS is a reliable treatment for small and medium calculi patients of the upper urinary tract.The curative effect of stone removal is clear,the complications are few,the safety is high.However,there are certain limitations to the efficacy in the treatment of large stones and lower calculi.Lower calculi is the independent risk factor for the treatment of efficacy.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of flexible ureteroscopy lithotripsy (FURL) for the treatment of renal stone in solitary kidney patients.Methods The clinical data of 46 patients of solitary kidney,who were treated with FURL from March 2015 to May 2018 in our hospital,were analyzed retrospectively.There were 34 males and 12 females,aged (48.6 ± 9.6) years.Maximum diameter of stone was (15.3 ±4.8) mm,and 29 cases in left kidney and 17 cases in right.34 cases were non-renal calcaneal calculi,12 cases were subrenal calyceal stones.There were 3 cases of congenital solitary kidney,31 cases of functional solitary kidney (contralateral kidney GFR < 10 ml/min) and 12 cases of acquired solitary kidney (7 cases of renal calculi,4 cases of tumor,1 case of tuberculosis).The mean reoperative serum creatinine was (116.38 ± 25.77)μmol/L.All patients were treated with general anesthesia,lithotomy,soft ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser lithotripsy,and assisted lithotripsy.All operations were performed by the same surgeon.The data of operation time,hospital stay,blood loss,renal function before and after operation,postoperative complications and stone clearance rate were recorded.Results In this study,46 cases of the operation were successfully completed.The mean operation time was (58.6 ±16.4) min,the average hospitalization time was (5.6 ± 1.4) days.The mean hemoglobin was decreased (1.4 ± 0.9) g/L.The mean operative time was (58.6 ± 16.4) min.The average postoperative hospitalization time was (5.6 ± 1.4) days.The Postoperative hematuria occurred in 32 cases,low back pain in 3 cases and fever in I case.Stone-free reached in 39 of 46 patients,the stone-free rate(SFR)of primary operation was 84.8% (39/46).There were 7 cases of residual calculi,five patients were treated with secondary FURL,2 patients were required conservative treatment.The SFR was 95.7% (44/46) after the second stage operation.The mean serum creatinine was (112.29 ± 20.62) μ mol/L on the first day after operation,which was not different statistically with that before operation (P =0.177).The mean serum creatinine was (81.54 ± 10.75) μmol/L one month after operation,which was significantly lower than preoperative and 1 day postoperative (P < 0.05).Conclusions FURL could be a safe and effective treatment for renal stone in solitary kidney patients.It has a definite stone-free effect,low incidence of complications.

In the present study, the response of spring wheat production and water use efficiency (WUE) to the elevated CO2 concentrations was investigated based on the open-top chamber (OTC) experiment platform in Dingxi, a typical semi-arid area. Three different CO2 concentrations (390 µmol·mol-1, 480 µmol·mol-1 and 570 µmol·mol-1) were involved. The results showed that the air temperature above plant canopy increased and the soil temperature at depth of 10 cm decreased by elevated CO2. The increased CO2 concentration substantially enhanced the total and each component biomass. The aboveground dry mass under the increased CO2 concentrations (480 and 570 µmol·mol-1) was increased by 20.6% and 41.5%, respectively, and the total dry mass was increased by 19.3% and 39.6%, respectively. The biomass enhacement was mainly due to the increases of dry mass of stems and leaves, which was strongly related to the material production capacity during the middle growth stage. The root/shoot ratio under the increased CO2 concentrations (480 and 570 µmol·mol-1) was decreased by 7.3% and 11.8%, respectively, indicating that the elevated CO2 affected the dry matter accumulation of aboveground more than that of belowground. The yields of spring wheat under the increased CO2 concentrations (480 and 570 µmol·mol-1) were higher than that of the control by 8.9% and 19.9%, respectively, mainly due to the increase of grains per spike. The long-term effect of elevated CO2 concentration on the photosynthesis of spring wheat was not obvious. The photosynthetic rate significantly increased, the transpiration rate decreased and the evapotranspiration reduced with the increases of CO2 concentration. WUE at the leaf, population, and yield levels increased under elevated CO2 concentration, with the increase range of WUE being the largest at the population level and the lowest at the yield level.

Objective To investigate the regulatory actions of Intestines-unblocking, Turbid-purging Recipe (ITR) on colonic 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and its receptor 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 (5-HT3) in rats with constipation-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C), and to explore the therapeutic mechanism of ITR in treating IBS-C. Methods Forty-two male SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups, namely normal group, model group, western medicine group, high-, middle- and low-dose Chinese medicine groups, 7 rats in each group. IBS-C rat model was established by intragastric administration of ice water. After establishment of the model, western medicine group was given intragastric administration of Cisapride Tablets (at the dosage of 3.6 mg·kg-1·d-1), Chinese medicine groups were given intragastric administration of various dosages of ITR granules (18.5, 9.25, 4.625 g·kg-1·d-1 respectively) , and the model group was given intragastric administration of normal saline, the treatment lasting 14 d. The rats in various groups were given normal feeding and drinking. After treatment, HE staining method was used to observe pathological changes in the intestinal tissue, immunohistochemistry method was used to observe the expression levels of intestinal 5-HT and 5-HT3 receptor. Results Compared with the normal group, the expression level of rat intestinal 5-HT was increased (P < 0.05) and that of 5-HT3 receptor was decreased (P < 0.05) in the model group and the medication groups. Compared with the model group, 5-HT expression level was decreased significantly (P<0.05) and 5-HT3 receptor expression level was increased (P < 0.05) in the medication groups, and the improvement of the middle-dose Chinese medicine group was more obvious (P < 0.05). Conclusion ITR has therapeutic efficacy for IBS-C rats through lowering 5-HT expression and increasing 5-HT3 receptor expression, which results into the improvement of intestinal sensitivity and abnormal dynamic of the rats.

Objective: To investigate the inhibition of cell proliferation by essential oil of Chenopodium ambrosioides on the human liver cancer SMMC-7721 cells and human liver LO2 cells,and to study the mechanism of anti-tumor in vitro. Methods: The inhibition of cell proliferation by essential oil of Chenopodium ambrosioides was determined by MTT assay; the distribution of cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry( FCM) with PI staining; cell morphology and apoptosis effect of SMMC-7721 cells were observed by microscope; the apoptotic rate was quantified by FCM with Annexin V / PI double staining. Results: Essential oil of Chenopodium ambrosioides could significantly inhibit the cell proliferation in a concentration-time-dependent manner( P < 0. 05),and the IC50 values on SMMC-7721 cells were lower than human liver LO2 cells at 24,48 and 72 h,respectively( P < 0. 05); cell cycle of SMMC-7721 cells was arrested in G0/G1phase; morphological observation revealed that the cells were wrinkled and the cellular cohesiveness of cells was reduced; nuclear was condensed and in orange colour,of which were the late apoptotic features; and the apoptotic rate increased in a concentration-dependent manner( P < 0. 05),non-viable apoptotic rate was obviously decreased with caspase inhibitor in 100 µg / m L essential oil of Chenopodium ambrosioides( P < 0. 01). Conclusion: Essential oil of Chenopodium ambrosioides can inhibit SMMC-7721 cell proliferation, which may be related to inducing cell cycle arrest and caspase-dependent apoptosis.

In order to predict effects of climate changing on growth, quality and grain yields of spring wheat, a field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of air temperature increases (0 °C, 1.0 °C, 2.0° C and 3.0°) and precipitation variations (decrease 20%, unchanging and increase 20%) on grain yields, quality, diseases and insect pests of spring wheat at the Dingxi Arid Meteorology and Ecological Environment Experimental Station of the Institute of Arid Meteorology of China Meteorological Administration (35°35' N ,104°37' E). The results showed that effects of precipitation variations on kernel numbers of spring wheat were not significant when temperature increased by less than 2.0° C , but was significant when temperature increased by 3.0° C. Temperature increase enhanced kernel numbers, while temperature decrease reduced kernel numbers. The negative effect of temperature on thousand-kernel mass of spring wheat increased with increasing air temperature. The sterile spikelet of spring wheat response to air temperature was quadratic under all precipitation regimes. Compared with control ( no temperature increase), the decreases of grain yield of spring wheat when air temperature increased by 1.0°C, 2.0°C and 3.0°C under each of the three precipitation conditions (decrease 20%, no changing and increase 20%) were 12.1%, 24.7% and 42.7%, 8.4%, 15.1% and 21.8%, and 9.0%, 15.5% and 22.2%, respectively. The starch content of spring wheat decreased and the protein content increased with increasing air temperature. The number of aphids increased when air temperature increased by 2.0°C , but decreased when air temperature increased by 3.0°CT. The infection rates of rust disease increased with increasing air temperature.

A field infrared temperature-increasing simulation experiment was conducted to investi- gate the effects of air temperature increases (0, 1 and 2 °C ) on growth, development and yield of spring wheat at the Dingxi Arid Meteorology and Ecological Environment Experimental Station of the Institute of Arid Meteorology of China Meteorological Administration. The results showed that the growth period of spring wheat was shortened by 7-11 d when the temperature increased by 1-2 °C. The plant height and leaf area index increased at early growth stage, decreased after entering the jointing stage, and warming 2 °C had a higher effect than warming 1 °C. Warming treatment induced an obvious decrease in chlorophyll content, especially from late grain filling stage to milk ripe stage. Compared with the control, increasing temperature by 1-2 °C decreased the spring wheat yield by 25.4%-45.5%, mainly due to obvious decreases in number of grains and grain mass per panicle. Water consumption of 0-100 cm soil horizons increased with the increase of temperature, while the variation tendency of water consumption of 100-160 cm soil horizons was not obvious.

15-lipoxygenase-1 (15-LOX-1) plays an important role in angiogenesis, but how it works still remains a controversial subject. The aims of our study are focused on determining whether or not 15-LOX-1 inhibiting oxygen-induced ischemic retinal neovascularization (RNV) and the underlying regulatory mechanism involving of 15-LOX-1, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPAR-γ) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) in oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR). Recombinant adenoviral vectors that expressing the 15-LOX-1 gene (Ad-15-LOX-1-GFP) or the green fluorescence protein gene (Ad-GFP) were intravitreous injected into the OIR mice at postnatal day 12 (P12), the mice were sacrificed 5 days later (P17). Retinal 15-LOX-1 expression was significantly increased at both mRNA and protein levels after 15-LOX-1 gene transfer. Immunofluorescence staining of retinal sections revealed 15-LOX-1 expression was primarily in the outer plexiform layer (OPL), inner nuclear layer (INL) and ganglion cell layer (GCL) retina. Meanwhile, RNV was significantly inhibited indicated by fluorescein retinal angiography and quantification of the pre-retinal neovascular cells. The expression levels of PPAR-γ were significantly up-regulated while VEGFR-2 were significantly down-regulated both in mRNA and protein levels. Our results suggested 15-LOX-1 gene transfer inhibited RNV in OIR mouse model via up-regulation of PPAR-γ and further down-regulation of VEGFR-2 expression. This could be a potentially important regulatory mechanism involving 15-LOX-1, PPAR-γ and VEGFR-2 during RNV in OIR. In conclusion, 15-LOX-1 may be a new therapeutic target for treating neovascularization diseases.

Evapotranspiration (ET) is an important component of ground surface energy balance and water balance, and closely related to water cycle. By using eddy covariance technique, this paper studied the ET characteristics of agroecosystems in the semi-arid area of Loess Plateau in growth season (from April to September), 2010, and analyzed the relationships between crop coefficient and environmental factors. During the observation period, the diurnal variation of latent heat flux (LE) in each month was similar to single-peak curve, and the peak value (151.4 W x m(-2)) occurred in August. The daytime energy partitioning manner showed a significant seasonal variation, with LE/R(n) < H/R(n) (R(n) was net radiation, and H was sensible heat flux) from April to June, and LE/R(n) > H/R(n) from July to September. The daily ET rate also showed a significant seasonal variation, with the maximum of 4.69 mm x d(-1). The wind speed (W(s)), relative humidity (RH), soil water content (theta), and atmospheric vapor pressure deficit (D) were the major factors affecting the crop coefficient K(c) which was exponentially decreased with increasing W(s), exponentially increased with increasing RH and theta, and linearly decreased with increasing D.

By using the site-specific observation data of oil flax growth and related meteorological records in semi-arid region of Loess Plateau, this paper studied the effects of climate change on the oil flax growth, and analyzed the relationships between the oil flax water use efficiency and meteorological condition. In this region, the annual precipitation displayed a decreasing trend, and its climatic trend rate was -15.80 mm (10 a)(-1), with an annual periodic change of 3 a and 6 a, whereas the annual air temperature had an increasing trend, and its climatic trend rate was 0.36 degrees C (10 a)(-1). In crop growth period, the aridity index displayed a marked increasing trend, its climatic trend rate was 0.12 (10 a)(-1), and the aridity tendency was more obvious from the beginning of 1990s to the year 2009. From sowing to maturation, oil flax needed 120-150 d, 1700-2100 degrees C d of > or = 0 degrees C accumulated temperature, 200-250 mm precipitation, and 1000-1300 h sunshine hours. The main meteorological factors affecting the oil flax growth in the region were air temperature and precipitation. The increase of air temperature shortened the prophase vegetative growth stage, whereas the increase of air temperature and the decrease of precipitation extended the reproductive growth stage, causing the extension of the whole growth period of the oil flax. The air temperature in the oil flax whole growth period except at seeding stage and maturing stage had negative effect on the yield formation, being more obvious at squaring stage, whereas the precipitation in the whole growth period except at blooming stage had positive effect on the yield formation, being more obvious at seeding stage. The water use efficiency of the oil flax was significantly positively correlated with the air temperature and sunshine hours at seeding stage as well as the aridity index from squaring stage to maturing stage, and negatively correlated with the precipitation from squaring stage to maturing stage. In the study region, the aridity index from May to July was the key factor affecting the water use efficiency of oil flax.

Based on the 1988-2008 located observation and 2007-2008 encrypted observation of potato growth and the 1957-2008 meteorological observation in semi-arid region of Loess Plateau, this paper studied the effects of climate change on the potato growth in this region. In 1957-2008, the annual precipitation in this region had a descending trend, with a linear fitting rate of the annual precipitation change curves being - 13.359 mm x (10 a)(-1), while the annual mean temperature displayed an ascending trend, with a linear fitting rate of the annual mean temperature change curves being 0.239 degrees C x (10 a)(-1). During potato growth period, the aridity index displayed a marked ascending trend, and the linear fitting rate of the aridity index change curves was 0.102 x (10 a)(-1). The growth rate of potato tuber became faster from the 96th day after sowing, reached the maximum on the 110th day, and turned slower from the 124th day. The interval from sowing to seedling emergence was shortened by 1-2 d x (10 a)(-1), and that from inflorescence formation to reaping and of whole growth period was lengthened by 9-10 d x (10 a) (-1). In the study region, climate warming shortened the vegetative growth stage, but lengthened the reproductive growth stage and whole growth period of potato.
