Protective effect of transplantation of neonatal liver cell nuclei on the model of acute toxic hepatitis.

We present the results of comparative analysis of functional and morphological changes in the liver of animals with experimental CCl(4)-induced hepatitis under conditions of transplantation of neonatal liver cells and nuclei. It was found that transplantation of neonatal liver cell nuclei in acute toxic hepatitis provides better functional and structural state of the target organ.

Evaluation of myocardial energy parameters during simulation of epinephrine damage under conditions of cell transplantation.

The effects of transplantation of xenogenic neonatal heart cells on energy processes were studied in rat myocardium during the early period of epinephrine injury. Transplantation promoted a less pronounced ATP hydrolys to adenosine monophosphate and inorganic phosphate, a higher level of creatine phosphate, pyruvate, lactate, retention and activation of myocardial enzymes involved in energy metabolism.

[Endothelial dysfunction in patients with angina pectoris of functional classes II and III].

Hemostatic parameters and the diameter of the brachial artery were studied in patients with functional classes II and III angina on exertion before and after an ischemic test. A multivariate statistical analysis was used to determine the significant parameters that distinguish vascular endothelial function in these patients. At the same time it was established that endothelial dysfunction in patients with varying angina pectoris is determined by different predictors of thrombocytic-vascular hemostasis.

Transplantation of xenogenic cardiomyocytes in experimental epinephrine-induced damage to myocardium: enzyme activity and morphological parameters.

We studied the effect of xenogenic neonatal cardiomyocytes on enzymatic processes in rat myocardium under conditions of epinephrine-induced damage. It was found that transplantation of the cell preparation restricts the zone of suppressed enzyme activity in the myocardium and promotes its recovery. Less pronounced metabolic disturbances corresponded to less pronounced morphological changes in the myocardium.

[Changes in lipid metabolism and hemostasis in intravenous and intrahepatic transplantation of neonatal allogenic hepatocytes in conditions of experimental hypercholesterolemia].

We studied effects of neonatal hepatocytes transplantation (NHT) on lipid metabolism and hemostasis in experimental hypercholesterolemia. A positive NHT influence on lipid metabolism, lipid peroxidation and hemostasis was established. The experimental data evidence for preferential influence of intrahepatic NHT on lipid metabolism and hemostasis compared to intravenous NHT.

Composition of protein-peptide complex of human fetal and rabbit juvenile tissues.

The composition of the protein-peptide complex of cryopreserved human fetal tissues and juvenile tissues of newborn rabbits was studied by spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods (liquid, thin layer, and reaction paper chromatography).

[The effect of fluvastatin (Lescol) treatment on the clinical status and function of the liver in patients with ischemic heart disease]. / Vliianie lecheniia fliuvastatinom (Leskolom) na klinicheskii status i funktsiiu pecheni bol'nykh ishemicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa.

The study included 30 IHD patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (22 males and 8 females). 18 and 12 patients have received a single daily dose of fluvastatin 20 and 40 mg, respectively, in the evening for 12 weeks. The drug effect was assessed by changes in the clinical status, lipid spectrum, transport-metabolic and absorption-secretory functions of the liver. IHD patients with hypercholesterolemia were found to have dysfunction of the hepatobiliary system. Fluvastatin treatment reduced the level of total cholesterol (Ch), LDLP Ch, triglycerides. HDLP Ch levels remained unchanged. Atherogenic lipoproteins aggregation diminished. Positive changes occurred in hepatic metabolism: bilirubin concentrations lowered, serum albumin went up, absorption-secretory function of hepatocytes normalized, hepatic mono-oxidase system activated. Fluvastatin-related hepatic damage was not reported in the course of 12-month follow-up.

The authors conducted contrast study of the position of the cavacatheter in all patients treated in the period of 12 months in the thoracic surgery department and the anesthesiology-resuscitation department who required long-term intensive therapy. In 61 of these patients the catheter was introduced through the left subclavian vein. An accessory left superior vena cava (ALSVC) which drained through the coronary sinus into the right atrium was found in 3 patients (4.9%). Study of the anatomical features of this venous anomaly led to the conclusion that prolonged infusion therapy through an ALSVC is undesirable.

Follow-up observations during the period from 1 to 5 years were performed in 12 of 18 patients subjected to bilateral resections of lungs for chronic pulmonary suppurations. Different forms of lung hypertension were revealed in 9 out of the 12 patients. The function of external ventilation was found to be disturbed in a considerable degree.
