RESUMO

The article presents research results on obtaining phosphorus granulated fertilizers on the basis of microbiologically activated sewage sludge ashes, ground bones and dried blood from meat industry. Granulation tests were carried out using a laboratory pan granulator as well as on an experimental pilot plant. The aim of the studies was to select the proper composition of the mixture of raw materials and binding agents to obtain granulated fertilizers from waste materials such as MSSA and MBM and bacteria lyophilisate. Obtained fertilizer samples were subjected to physical tests (granulation tests etc.) and quality assessment. The tests confirmed that it was possible to produce granulated phosphate fertilizers using the Bacillus megaterium for solubilization of phosphorus in a simple process.

RESUMO

In the Néel phase of La-based cuprates, magnons are pseudo-Goldstones as the rotational symmetry of the spin system is explicitly broken by the small anisotropies. Respecting the approximate SO(3) symmetry we calculate the doping and temperature dependence of the magnon gaps in La2-xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) within the framework of the anisotropic linear σ-model coupled to dipoles representing holes. We show that the temperature behaviour of the reduced magnon gaps depends weakly on the hole concentration and that the relative in-plane gap reduction with doping is insensitive to anisotropies of the parent compound. The obtained magnon gaps agree with experiments on LSCO, in particular the strong in-plane gap reduction with doping is reproduced.

RESUMO

A model is proposed that describes diffraction by a microrelief grating. A microrelief grating is a grating of large period with grooves containing a periodic microrelief with a period considerably smaller than the period of the grating. In the model the interaction of the incident wave with the fine structure is taken into account rigorously while features of the grating that are large compared with the wavelength are modeled as phase or amplitude objects.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To present the results of the use of diode laser in the treatment of secondary glaucoma in children. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was performed on 15 eyes in 14 children (7 males and 7 females) with glaucoma resistant to pharmacotherapy. Transscleral contact cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC) was performed using SLx diode laser (Iris Medical Instrument). The number of photocoagulations performed within the circumference of 270 degrees ranged from 18 to 30 and the energy depended on "pop sound". RESULTS: In one child visual acuity decreased from 0.5/50 to light perception, while in the remaining children it did not change. Prior to coagulation, the mean intraocular pressure was 37.67 +/- 3.2 mm Hg, and 6 months after coagulation it was 22 +/- 3.74 mm Hg. CONCLUSIONS: TSPC is a well tolerated method of treatment in children with pharmacotherapy-resistant glaucoma. In order to assess the late outcomes of the therapy, prolonged observation of the patients is required.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The aim of the study was to evaluate the blood flow in central retinal artery (CRA) in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and normal tension glaucoma (NTG). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Two groups of patients were examined: I group consisted of 15 patients (19 eyes) with POAG, II group of 16 patients (32 eyes) with NTG. The controls were age-matched healthy persons. Blood flow velocities and resistance index in central retinal artery were measured by DRG Retina-Doppler. RESULTS: We found decreased blood flow velocity in CRA in most of the patients with NTG and in part of the patients with POAG. Significant increase of resistance index was found only in NTG group. CONCLUSION: Our study confirmed that assessment of the blood flow in central retinal artery appears to be a valuable method in diagnosis of neuropathy mechanism in glaucoma.
