RESUMO

Application of dynamic chaos for the illumination of the surrounding space by artificial incoherent sources of microwave radiation with the purpose of its subsequent observation using special receiving equipment is considered. An incoherent broadband microwave radiation field is provided by "radio light lamps" based on dynamic chaos generators. The radio light is received with specially designed sensitive elements that combine the properties of an envelope detector in communication systems and a radiometer. It is shown that with the help of directional antennas connected to these sensitive elements, it is possible to create receivers with spatial resolution for visualizing a part of the surrounding space in artificial radio light. Radio light images of a room have been obtained. The possibility to detect changes associated with the emergence of new objects on these images is demonstrated.

RESUMO

Management of exudative otitis media is a challenging problem in view of its high prevalence and frequent complications in the form of stable hearing loss. The highest morbidity rate is documented among 25 and 50-year old subjects which accounts for the substantially reduced level of social activity associated with this disease. Clinical examination and audiologic techniques are frequently insufficient to diagnose exudative otitis media. Computed tomography provides a reliable tool for the exact diagnosis, optimal choice of treatment strategy, and evaluation of its efficacy during dynamic observations.

RESUMO

Musculocutaneous samples taken from 19 Chernobyl clean-up workers were morphofunctionally examined to trace the changes, which had happened in them under the lasting exposure to low doses of ionizing radiation. The analysis showed that the greatest changes had taken place in the epidermis in the form of thickening of corneal and cellular layers and inflammatory infiltration of lymphocytes provided with the productive panvasculitis in the majority of arterioles. It is supposed that after the long low-doce irradiation two forms of reactions developed in the skin: a defense reaction in the form of proliferative hyperkeratosis and an immunopathological reaction. The latter is a consequence of activation in the cellular layer of epidermis combined with the appearance of effector component of immune response, which stimulates the interaction of epidermal T-lymphocytes with the endothelial cells of derma vessels and systemic involving of blood vessels of microcircular blood stream.

RESUMO

Exposure to X-rays causes pronounced morphofunctional changes in basal cells and modulates linear cellularity in the epidermal basal layer in guinea pigs. Radiosensitivity of skin basal cells of different location is different: the most pronounced morphofunctional changes were observed in the skin of the head (cheek) and abdomen.

RESUMO

Involuntary evacuation of the stoma is the problem of social rehabilitation of stomed patients. In 17 patients during formation of colostoma reservoir-holding mechanism was created. Strain of parietal peritoneum led to subjective feelings predicting colostoma evacuation that were seen 10-20 min before defecation and presented as heaviness in projection of external end of stoma in 15 (88.2%) or elements of intestinal colic in 2 (11.8%) patients. This permitted 9 patients to control colostoma evacuation. Five (29.4%) patients demonstrated ability to control defecation for 10-15 min with tension of the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall.

RESUMO

We studied morphological changes in hyaline cartilages of different localization in adult male rabbits with focal persistent infection produced by Staphylococcus aureus strain 209. Local chronic inflammation produced systemic atrophic and degenerative changes in the cartilage tissue. The severity of pathological changes depended on genetically determined repair and metabolic activity of the cartilage tissue.

RESUMO

Activation of peripheral mu-opioid receptors contributes to an increase in stability of cardiomyocytes to stress damage manifesting with decreased accumulation of Tc-99m pyrophosphate in the heart muscle and contractures of the myocardium. As a principal mechanism of mu-receptor-dependent increase in resistance of the heart to stress damage, modulated influence of opioids on adrenergic pathogenetic links of heart stress damage is considered. In realization of the discovered cardioprotective effect associated with mu-receptor activation, opioidergic limitation of histamine release from mast cells in the myocardium and also mu-receptor-dependent intensification of coronary bloodstream in stressed animals may play a definite role.

RESUMO

Rat experiments with ether anaesthesia (EA) indicate that EA induces enlargement of hepatic sinusoids, stasis and perivascular edema of the triad vessels and other changes in the liver. Right hypochondrium exposure to electromagnetic waves (4.76-5.08 mm) up to 20 days in rats given simultaneously ether anaesthesia showed that livers from the irradiated rats did not differ from control. Thus, millimetric wave radiation may prevent pathological alterations arising in white rat liver after ether anaesthesia.

RESUMO

The results of studying an effect of microwaves on the different regions of visual analyzer are investigated. The morphofunctional changes at the light-optic and electron-microscopic levels are revealed. The changes involve not only peripheric area of visual analyzer but also its central regions. Some epidemiologic observations are indicative of: altered sizes of blind spot; decreased magnitudes of optic rheobase and chronaxy; color vision disorder; increased diastolic pressure in central artery of the retina. Study of bioelectrical activity of the retina enabled some investigators to make a conclusion about a reaction disorders occurring in the subcortical visual centers. It is noted that the animal studies not always explain unequivocally the microwave effects on the visual analyzer.

RESUMO

A single total radiation of guinea pigs by means of microwaves of thermogenic intensity (energy density stream 60 mVt/sm2) and exposition for 10 min produces ultrastructural reactions in various parts of the visual analyser, differing in their manifestation degree. The most essential alterative changes have been revealed in the retina, appearing in 6 h after radiation, as degeneration of the membrane disks of the photoreceptors and as enhancement of phagocytic activity of pigmentocytes, and immediately after the radiation--as destructive disturbances of mitochondria in radial glyocytes and as reaction of the synaptic apparatus. In the cerebral visual centers a higher reactivity of neurons of the external geniculate bodies than in the visual cortex is noted, but ultrastructural disturbances of the hematoencephalic barrier and synapses of the visual cortex are more manifested. Early ultrastructural changes in the optic nerve are least manifested.

RESUMO

Organ complexes of bats (Nyctalis noctula), consisting of oesophagus, stomach and initial part of the small intestine have been subjected to histological and morphometrical investigation. As demonstrates the histological investigation of the preparations, the denticulate line of the mucous membrane of the oesophageal-gastric passage is displaced towards the stomach. In the cardia a well manifested internal sphincter has been revealed. In the place, where the stomach passes into the small intestine, on a small area of the submucosal tela of the intestine, there is an accumulation of secretory parts of the duodenal glands. They form a glandular torulus, which narrows the transitional zone lumen. A peculiarity of the bat pylorus is absence of an anatomical sphincter in it.

RESUMO

The purpose of the investigation was to study the efficacy of closing the bone defect in facial walls of the frontal and maxillary sinuses, formed as a result of their purulent inflammation, by porous permeable titanium nickelide. Analysis of the experimental data (18 dogs) and clinical observations (20 patients in whom the anatomic structure and function of frontal and maxillary sinuses with osteomyelitis were restored by an antibiotic pooling implantation material) gives evidence that the material can be well used to reconstruct an organ with an infected wound. The porous structure of the bioinert graft facilitates the ingrowth of osteogenic tissues, which becomes packed in the bone matrix without any intermediate connective tissue layer.

RESUMO

Morpho-quantitative estimation of changes in IV and V layers of visual cortex and outer geniculate bodies of the brain of guinea pigs subjected to whole-body X-irradiation with a median lethal doses shows that neurons from the visual analyzer sections under study are differently damaged. The morphogenesis of changes is connected with the original variations in the quantitative structure of a neuron-glial complex and a selective alterative and productive reaction of the perivascular glia.
