RESUMO
An evisceration implant made from a highly porous inert, Teflon fluorocarbon, Proplast II, and the surgical technique of implantation is described. The implant was used in four eyes without complications. The implant and technique have many advantages: the ability to absorb antibiotics: the ability to prevent extrusion and infection; the fact that it is lightweight, black in color, and capable of preserving the cornea.
