On the territory of Kazakhstan there are uranium deposits, many ofwhich are in mothballed since times of perestroika. Often, the mines are flooded and represent a "time-delay bomb". Inside of mines various there are accumulated gases of both organic and inorganic nature, periodically thrown out and adversely affecting on the health of local populations. The aim of the study was the investigation of the state of the environment of Esilsky district of the Akmola region by common pollutants and chemicals. As the basic variable for the investigation of ambient air there was accepted the maximum one-time concentration of suspended substances, phenol, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide. The results were evaluated in relation to the MPC for the analyzed substance in the air according to maximal single MPC (MPCms) and daily average MPC (MPCda). The content of metals in the water was determined with the use of spectrophotometer PD-303S. Evaluation of the results was executed in relation of the MPC of substances in water, by means of the comparison with the requirements of Federal standards for drinking water, samples from drinking water sources. There were executed calculations of the overall index of water pollution (IWVgen), the index of water pollution by heavy metals (IWVhm). Chemical analysis of soil was carried out with the use of spectrophotometer PD- 303S (Japan), the photometer expert-003 "Ekoniks". Evaluation of the results was carried out with the respect to the MPC in the soil, the toxicity of all components. Summarizing soil pollution index was evaluated for metals contained in the soil at the level of more than or equal to 1 MAC. The settlement Krasnogorskiy and the village of Kalachi were found to be characterized by a low level of air pollution, increased rigidity of drinking water exceeded the maximum permissible concentrations of copper by 3.45 times and chloride by 1.17 times in the soil cover.

RESUMO

Research is conducted in the city of Aktau ofMangystau area in 2009-2011. The state of health of adult population of the city of Aktau and quality of atmospheric air were studied. Results of works revealed positive dynamics of a natural increase of the population. There is noted a high rate of birth rate, however infantile mortality has tendency to the gain. There were established the structure and leading indices of the incidence among the male andfemale population. The impurity of atmospheric air by chemicals was shown to have the direct impact on health of urban population.

RESUMO

The article is devoted to the approbation of the modification of the method of the presentation of indices of medical and social losses of the population on an example of environmentally unfavorable Aral Sea region in Kazakhstan. The first step in improvement of the system ofpublic health care is the identification of the most important problems related with the assessment of the disease burden and the adjustment of data of such type in accordance national aims on the decline of medical and social losses in this problem area. So far according to the criteria for the determination of the boundary of ecological catastrophe area one of the indices is the steady gain in the mortality rate. Using the index "Years of Life Lost" (YLL) in medical statistics as a relatively new approach that continues to be improved and its development supposes the improvement in the quality of health statistics. We modified this method consisting in the determination of the coefficient of loss of years. In the given work after comprehensive analysis of the loss of years due to morbidity and mortality on the base of life tables the potential of lost years for the population was determined with bearing in mind of module tables and compared with the loss in years due to the health loss. So far there was declined the dimension of the comprehensive index, there was elevated its comparability with other indices, and the data interpretation has been optimized. Suggested modification can be used for a comprehensive assessment of health state in the execution of epidemiological studies and monitoring of medical and social situation in ecologically unfavorable regions.

Improvement of occupational medical care management is aimed to preserve workers' health through better prevention, early diagnosis and rehabilitation of occupational diseases. Strategic directions of occupational pathology service development are improvement of legislation base on occupational diseases, modernization of occupational pathology service, development of personnel resources system, advancement of research activity in medical ecology, industrial hygiene and occupational pathology and increased efficiency of intra-sectoral and inter-agency interactions about workers' health preservation.

RESUMO

Studies of birth rate, natural increment and death rate dynamics of Aral region population helped to set major tendencies in demographic processes for dwellers in ecologic disaster area. Morbidity parameters were evaluated via ICD-10 classes with distribution in age and sex, that helped to identify leading classes of diseases in the population of Kyzylorda region. DALY index parameters were estimated through complex evaluation of health losses due to disablement and mortality among adult population of Kyzylorda region. The studies covered 5 districts of Kyzylorda region (Aral, Kazalin, Zhalagash, Karmaksh, Shiely). The parameters were analysed retrospectively over 10 years--from 2004 to 2013.

RESUMO

The article deals with data on meteorologic conditions influence on pollution of Aralsk territory. Aralsk climate over recent years appeared to be characterized by positive temperature anomalies (within 1-2 degrees C). Air pollution in Aralsk territory depends on increased air temperature (over 35 degrees C), on lay of land (general slope towards Aral sea) and wind scheme, with repeated south-west (11%), west (8%) and south (6%) winds result in high levels of air pollution with low-disperse particles of dust.

RESUMO

The article represents results of first year research within large project "Complex approaches in public health state management in Aral region" (implementation term 2014-2016). Aral region problems is a bright example of ecologic disaster with severe social economic consequences, influencing directly or indirectly all countries. The article covers complex ecologic and social hygienic evaluation of evironmental hazards in ecologically unfavorable zones and public health assessment of Kyzylorda region. Scientific research work in continued. Statistical processing and comparison of data, with discussion, will be conducted in 2015-2016 and presented in further publications.

RESUMO

Inefficient and excessive use of water of Aral Sea Basin for the period of 40 years for agricultural land irrigation caused a significant deterioration of living conditions, changed the economic situation of the local population, its income, employment, working conditions, infrastructure of livelihood. All these components manifested in a sudden change of health status of population in Aral Sea area. Research project will help to develop a methodology for risk assessment and management, identify patterns of damage to various body systems and the rationale of diagnostic criteria for ecologically dependent diseases at the early stage, and to implement preventive and corrective actions to determine the conditions for the preservation of public health in environmental deviations of the habitat of the population living in the Aral Sea area.

RESUMO

The problem of recycling and disposal of solid waste from metallurgical, energy and petrochemical industries is becoming more acute problem for Kazakhstan. Violations of hygiene requirements concerning the placement and operation of landfills increase the area of contaminated soil and can become a threat to environmental safety of the population in industrial centers. The research was aimed to evaluate soil contamination in the cities and towns of Kazakhstan Republic and to mark out health risk areas. Five localities with especially high levels of soil contamination were revealed. Visualization of ecological contamination on individual urban areas gives to ecologists a tool to analyze and solve medical ecology problems. The results of soil contamination mapping can contribute earmarking of funds by local authorities to carry out measures for optimizing the environment.

RESUMO

Problem of safety in asbestos usage attracts close attention of specialists and agencies responsible for public health preservation nowadays. According to European researchers, studies of uncontrolled usage of amphibole asbestos demonstrate high risk of asbestosis, lung cander and pleural mesothelioma among the workers and population exposed. The article covers results of research concerning influence of chrysotile asbestos on the workers, problems of asbestos-related diseases formation. The authors defined suggestions on a concept of controlled usage of chrysotile asbestos in Kazakhstan Republic.
