RESUMO

PURPOSE: The present study investigated the nephron-testicular protective effects of sesamin against cisplatin (CP)-induced acute renal and testicular injuries. METHODS: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were allocated to receive carboxymethylcellulose (0.5%, as sesamin vehicle), CP (a single i.p. 5 mg/kg dose), CP plus sesamin at 10 or 20 mg/kg orally for 10 days. RESULTS: Data analysis showed significant increases in serum urea, creatinine, interleukin (IL)-1, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), as well as renal and testicular tissue malondialdehyde and nitric-oxide concentrations in CP-intoxicated rats in comparison to control animals. On the contrary, rats treated with CP only exhibited significantly lower (p < .05) serum testosterone, tissue glutathione, and activities of endogenous antioxidant enzymes compared to control rats. Histopathologically examining CP-intoxicated rats' tissues using H&E and PAS stains showed atrophied glomeruli, interstitial inflammatory cells, atypic tubular epithelium with focal apoptosis, and reduced mucopolysaccharide content. Further, immunohistochemical staining of the same group revealed an increase in p53 and cyclooxygenase-II (Cox-II) expression in renal and testicular tissues. Treatment with sesamin alleviated almost all the changes mentioned above in a dose-dependent manner, with the 20 mg/kg dose restoring several parameters' concentrations to normal ranges. CONCLUSIONS: In brief, sesamin could protect the kidneys and testes against CP toxicity through its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic effects.

RESUMO

This study aimed to examine the value of preoperative recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) administration to adults undergoing elective cardiac surgery. Databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing rhEPO plus standard treatment versus standard treatment only. Primary outcomes were the need for and volume of homologous blood transfusion (HBT). Secondary outcomes were the lengths of intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital stay and the incidence of major adverse events. There was very low certainty that rhEPO is associated with a reduction in the need for HBT, with a number needed to treat of 5.6 (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.9-12.5), and low certainty that it is associated with a moderate reduction in HBT volume (Hedges g = -0.55; 95% CI, -0.79 to -0.32). Meta-regression revealed that studies with a higher proportion of females or older patients demonstrated less benefit of rhEPO in terms of reduced consumption of HBT. Trial sequential analysis showed that rhEPO was superior to standard treatment only for reducing the need for and volume of HBT. Regarding secondary outcomes, there was moderate certainty that rhEPO is associated with a limited reduction in the length of ICU (Hedges g = -0.10; 95% CI, -0.19 to -0.01) and hospital stay (Hedges g = -0.13; 95% CI = -0.25 to -0.02), and low certainty for increased risk of myocardial infarction, with a number needed to harm of 36.1 (95% CI, 17.9-127.4). More well-designed, adequately powered RCTs are needed to draw conclusions regarding the value of rhEPO.

RESUMO

Li5V3O8, a lithiation product derived from the LiV3O8 cathode, has emerged as a promising intercalation-type anode material, boasting a theoretical capacity of 256 mA h g-1. Through a comprehensive combination of experimental and theoretical approaches, we demonstrate its capability to intercalate a substantial amount of Li+ at extremely high rates. Experimental findings reveal that Li5V3O8 exhibits outstanding high-rate capability (with a specific capacity of 152 mA h g-1, 60% of the theoretical capacity at 40 C) and exceptional cyclability (with a capacity retention of 80% after 11,000 cycles at 20 C). The structural changes in Li5V3O8 during the lithiation/delithiation cycles are subtle and reversible. First-principles calculations highlight a knock-off mechanism in Li+ diffusion within Li5V3O8, with an estimated energy barrier ranging from 0.16 to 0.38 eV, considerably lower than that of a direct hopping mechanism (0.62-1.44 eV). These ultrafast ion diffusion properties are attributed to interlock interactions among interstitial tetrahedral Li+ and neighboring octahedral lattice Li+, facilitating long-distance and chain-like Li+ diffusion. This study not only introduces an influential vanadium-based anode material with practical implications for fast-charging lithium-ion batteries but also provides fundamental insights into solid state Li+ diffusion kinetics.

RESUMO

Maximizing the utilization efficiency of monatomic Fe sites in Fe-N-C catalysts poses a significant challenge for their commercial applications. Herein, a structural and electronic dual-modulation is achieved on a Fe-N-C catalyst to substantially enhance its catalytic performance. We develop a facile multi-component ice-templating co-assembly (MIC) strategy to construct two-dimensional (2D) arrays of monatomic Fe-anchored hollow carbon nanoboxes (Fe-HCBA) via a novel dual-outward interfacial contraction hollowing mechanism. The pore engineering not only enlarges the physical surface area and pore volume but also doubles the electrochemically active specific surface area. Additionally, the unique 2D carbon array structure reduces interfacial resistance and promotes electron/mass transfer. Consequently, the Fe-HCBA catalysts exhibit superior oxygen reduction performance with a six-fold enhancement in both mass activity (1.84 A cm-2) and turnover frequency (0.048 e- site-1 s-1), compared to microporous Fe-N-C catalysts. Moreover, the incorporation of phosphorus further enhances the total electrocatalytic performance by three times by regulating the electron structure of Fe-N4 sites. Benefitting from these outstanding characteristics, the optimal 2D P/Fe-HCBA catalyst exhibits great applicability in rechargeable liquid- and solid-state zinc-air batteries with peak power densities of 186 and 44.5 mW cm-2, respectively.

RESUMO

Infective endocarditis (IE) remains a serious disease that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, and despite the significant advances that have been made in understanding the disease process in past decades, its incidence appears to be on the rise recently. Endocarditis in children is no longer a rare occurrence. This appeared to be related to a combination of the improved survival of children with congenital heart diseases (CHDs), increase use of intracardiac protheses, and catheter-related interventions. The American Heart Association (AHA) 2007 guidelines reduced the recommendations for use of prophylactic antibiotics in those with CHDs which occurred despite the noticeable increase in endocarditis incidence around that time. In general, the recommendations for managing children with IE are derived from the adults' guidelines, and the evidence-base is lacking in many clinical scenarios. Understanding the epidemiology, clinical presentations, microbiology, and outcomes of different management strategies for endocarditis is needed to have a clear and optimal plan for these children. In the current narrative review, we discuss IE in the pediatric population in terms of etiology, predisposing factors, and different treatment strategies for this unique population.

RESUMO

The introduction of the Y(ang)-technique for aortic root enlargement has sparked a renewed interest in annular and root enlargement procedures world-wide. In order to execute these procedures proficiently however, it's important to understand the complex three-dimensional structure of the aortic root and left ventricular outflow tract, and also be familiar with the different enlargement techniques. Herein, we are providing a description of the aortic root anatomy and the most commonly utilized root enlargement procedures. This should facilitate clinical decision making and guidance of patients towards the most appropriate procedure, which should not only treat the patients' acute symptoms, but should also set the patient up for potentially needed future procedures and respective life-time management of aortic valve disease.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To describe the histopathological pattern of different breast lesions among tissue specimens sent to our laboratory. METHOD: A record-based study using a retrospective review of 255 histologically diagnosed breast biopsy reports in the histopathology department of authors from December 2016 to November 2021 was conducted. The specimens were collected from core biopsy, lumpectomy, and mastectomy. All data obtained were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28 (IBM SPSS Statistics, Armonk, NY). Then, the findings were presented using text, tables, and charts. RESULT: A total of 255 breast lesions were analyzed in this study. Most of the cases were benign (58.8%), followed by inflammatory lesions (21.6%), and malignant (19.6%). Fibroadenoma was the most prevalent benign lesion (36.7%), and most of the patients (70.9%) were in the age group of 20-39 years old. The most common inflammatory lesion was granulomatous mastitis (56.4%), and most of the cases were diagnosed in the age group of 30-39 years old. Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) was the most encountered histological type of carcinoma (62%). Of the malignant cases, 52% were diagnosed before the age of 50 years. Among these 50 cases, grade 2 was the most prevalent one (46%). CONCLUSION: Benign breast lesions are more common than malignant breast lesions, and fibroadenoma is the most common benign subtype. Granulomatous mastitis is the most prevalent inflammatory breast lesion. About two-thirds of malignant cases are non-Arab. Invasive ductal carcinoma with no special type (NST) is the most common malignant subtype.

RESUMO

α-Phase formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered significant attention, owing to their remarkable efficiency. Methylammonium chloride (MACl), a common additive, is used to control the crystallization of FAPbI3, thereby facilitating the formation of the photoactive α-phase. However, MACl's high volatility raises concerns regarding its stability and potential impact on the stability of the device. In this study, we partially substituted MACl with n-propylammonium chloride (PACl), which has a long alkyl chain, to promote the oriented crystallization of FAPbI3, ultimately forming an δ-phase-free perovskite. The FAPbI3 film containing PACl demonstrates an enhanced photoluminescence intensity and lifetime. Additionally, PACl's presence at grain boundaries acts as a protective layer for the PSCs. Consequently, we achieved a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 22.4% and exceptional stability. It maintains over 95% of initial PCE for 100 days in an N2 glovebox, over 85% after 100 h of maximum power point tracking, and over 80% after 60 °C thermal aging.

RESUMO

The ongoing debate surrounding coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with or without cardiopulmonary bypass persists, particularly in individuals with left ventricular dysfunction. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of these 2 strategies through a comprehensive meta-analysis of existing studies. A systematic search of PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Central Registry was conducted from inception to July 2023. The primary focus was on studies comparing on-pump versus off-pump CABG as the primary treatment for multivessel coronary artery disease in patients with left ventricular dysfunction (ejection fraction ≤40%), with mortality as the primary outcome. The meta-analysis included 26 studies with a total of 35,863 patients. The results revealed a significant reduction in mortality risk [risk ratio (RR), 0.75; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.60-0.93; P = 0.009] and other perioperative morbidities associated with off-pump CABG. These included stroke (RR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.54-0.82; P = 0.0002), myocardial infarction (RR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.56-0.97; P = 0.03), pulmonary complications (RR, 0.71; 95% CI, 0.55-0.92; P = 0.010), postoperative transfusion (RR, 0.70; 95% CI, 0.55-0.88; P = 0.002), neurological dysfunction (RR, 0.80; 95% CI, 0.64-1.00; P = 0.05), infection (RR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.56-0.97; P = 0.03), renal failure (RR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.67-0.95; P = 0.010), and reoperation for bleeding (RR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.52-0.84; P = 0.0006). However, no significant difference was observed between the 2 groups regarding postoperative atrial fibrillation (RR, 0.97; 95% CI, 0.84-1.12; P = 0.69). In conclusion, off-pump CABG demonstrates a lower perioperative mortality risk and improved overall early outcomes compared with on-pump techniques in individuals with reduced left ventricular function.

RESUMO

Background: This study discussed the effect of probiotic supplementation on laying hens' diets and the enhancement of egg quality during the cold storage period. Aim: To study the efficacy of the addition of probiotics to hen diets in terms of improving the egg's quality during the cold storage period and protection against enteric pathogens. Methods: 100 table eggs were collected from farms of laying hens on a battery system, 46 weeks old HylineW36 white in Sharkia Government. The collected eggs were separated into 2 groups (50 each); the control group from hens fed on diets without probiotics, and the probiotic group from hens fed on diets with (100 g/ton) of supplemented probiotics preparation. All groups were separated into 5 sub-groups for the examinations; on the fresh day, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days on cold storage at 4°C. Chemical, physical, and microbiological examinations were done for internal egg contents and eggshells. Results: Our results showed that probiotics supplements have advantageous effects on the quality of eggs during cold storage periods. Also, microbiological examination proved that eggshells from hens fed on diets with probiotics supplemented (100 g/ton) have decreased the level of bacterial contamination with Salmonella and Escherichia coli than hens fed on a regular diet. Conclusion: It could be shown that the probiotics supplementation may decrease and reduce the effect of the storage period on the quality of shell, albumen, and yolk.

RESUMO

The production of vanillin from biomass offers a sustainable route for synthesizing daily-use chemicals. However, achieving sunlight-driven vanillin synthesis through H2O activation in an aqueous environment poses challenges due to the high barrier of H2O dissociation. In this study, we have successfully developed an efficient approach for gram-scale vanillin synthesis in an aqueous reaction, employing Mn-defected γ-MnO2 as a photocatalyst at room temperature. Density functional theory calculations reveal that the presence of defective Mn species (Mn3+) significantly enhances the adsorption of vanillyl alcohol and H2O onto the surface of the γ-MnO2 catalyst. Hydroxyl radical (˙OH) species are formed through H2O activation with the assistance of sunlight, playing a pivotal role as oxygen-reactive species in the oxidation of vanillyl alcohol into vanillin. The Mn-defected γ-MnO2 catalyst exhibits exceptional performance, achieving up to 93.4% conversion of vanillyl alcohol and 95.7% selectivity of vanillin under sunlight. Notably, even in a laboratory setting during the daytime, the Mn-defected γ-MnO2 catalyst demonstrates significantly higher catalytic performance compared to the dark environment. This work presents a highly effective and promising strategy for low-cost and environmentally benign vanillin synthesis.

RESUMO

Antimicrobial resistance poses considerable issues for current clinical care, so the modified use of antimicrobial agents and public health initiatives, coupled with new antimicrobial approaches, may help to minimize the impact of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria in the future. This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory activities of Lagenaria siceraria, Thymus vulgaris, and their chitosan nanocomposites against extensive drug-resistant (XDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa and vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) using both in vitro and in vivo assays. The in vitro antimicrobial susceptibilities of P. aeruginosa and VRSA strains revealed 100% sensitivity to imipenem (100%). All P. aeruginosa strains were resistant to cefoxitin, cefepime, trimethoprim + sulfamethoxazole, and fosfomycin. However, S. aureus strains showed a full resistance to cefoxitin, amoxicillin, ampicillin, erythromycin, chloramphenicol, and fosfomycin (100% each). Interestingly, all S. aureus strains were vancomycin-resistant (MIC = 32-512 µg/mL), and 90% of P. aeruginosa and S. aureus strains were XDR. The antimicrobial potential of Lagenaria siceraria and Thymus vulgaris nanocomposites with chitosan nanoparticles demonstrated marked inhibitory activities against XDR P. aeruginosa and VRSA strains with inhibition zones' diameters up to 50 mm and MIC values ranging from 0.125 to 1 µg/mL and 1 to 8 µg/mL, respectively. The results of the in vivo approach in male Sprague Dawley rats revealed that infection with P. aeruginosa and S. aureus displayed significant changes in biochemical, hematological, and histopathological findings compared to the negative control group. These values returned to the normal range after treatment by chitosan nanoparticles, either loaded with Lagenaria siceraria or Thymus vulgaris. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) findings presented significant upregulation of the relative expression of the IL10 gene and downregulation of the IFNG gene throughout the experimental period, especially after treatment with chitosan nanoparticles loaded either with Lagenaria siceraria or Thymus vulgaris in comparison to the positive control groups. In conclusion, this is the first report suggesting the use of Lagenaria siceraria and Thymus vulgaris nanocomposites with chitosan nanoparticles as a promising contender for combating XDR P. aeruginosa and VRSA infections as well as a manager for inflammatory situations and oxidative stress-related disorders.

RESUMO

In the current work, a rapid, selective, and sensitive technique was developed for the detection of Alizarin Red S (ARS) by applying poly leucine modified carbon paste electrode (PLMCPE). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were utilized to study the surface morphology of unmodified carbon paste electrode (UMCPE) and PLMCPE. The active surface area for UMCPE and PLMCPE was found to be 0.0012 cm2 and 0.0026 cm2 respectively. The electrochemical response of ARS at UMCPE and PLMCPE was analyzed using cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the potential window of 0.4 to 1.0 V. The cyclic voltammogram obtained for varying the pH of 0.2 M phosphate buffer (PB) solution showed maximum current for the oxidation of ARS at pH 6.5. The electrochemical reaction of ARS was found to be irreversible and adsorption controlled. The effect of variation of concentration of ARS on the oxidation peak current was evaluated using CV and linear scan voltammetry (LSV). A linear relationship between the concentration variation and current was obtained in the linear range of 1.5 µM-3.5 µM and 0.2 µM-5.0 µM for CV and LSV respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) of 0.68 µM for the CV method and 0.29 µM for the LSV method was exhibited by the developed sensor. The simultaneous study of ARS along with tartrazine (TZ) showed good selectivity for ARS. The interferents of foreign molecules showed no effect on the selectivity of the electrode. The applicability of PLMCPE on real samples gave good recovery ranging from 97.46-101.2%; hence, the sensor can be utilized on real samples. The developed sensor has good stability and sensitivity.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies (CGRP mAbs) versus nonspecific oral migraine preventives (NOEPs). BACKGROUND: Insurers mandate step therapy with NOEPs before approving CGRP mAbs. METHODS: Databases were searched for class I or II randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing CGRP mAbs or NOEPs versus placebo for migraine prevention in adults. The primary outcome measure was monthly migraine days (MMD) or moderate to severe headache days. RESULTS: Twelve RCTs for CGRP mAbs, 5 RCTs for topiramate, and 3 RCTs for divalproex were included in the meta-analysis. There was high certainty that CGRP mAbs are more effective than placebo, with weighted mean difference (WMD; 95% confidence interval) of -1.64 (-1.99 to -1.28) MMD, which is compatible with small effect size (Cohen's d -0.25 [-0.34 to -0.16]). Certainty of evidence that topiramate or divalproex is more effective than placebo was very low and low, respectively (WMD -1.45 [-1.52 to -1.38] and -1.65 [-2.30 to -1.00], respectively; Cohen's d -1.25 [-2.47 to -0.03] and -0.48 [-0.67 to -0.29], respectively). Trial sequential analysis showed that information size was adequate and that CGRP mAbs had clear benefit versus placebo. Network meta-analysis showed no statistically significant difference between CGRP mAbs and topiramate (WMD -0.19 [-0.56 to 0.17]) or divalproex (0.01 [-0.73 to 0.75]). No significant difference was seen between topiramate or divalproex (0.21 [-0.45 to 0.86]). CONCLUSIONS: There is high certainty that CGRP mAbs are more effective than placebo, but the effect size is small. When feasible, CGRP mAbs may be prescribed as first-line preventives; topiramate or divalproex could be as effective but are less well tolerated. The findings of this study support the recently published 2024 position of the American Headache Society on the use of CGRP mAbs as the first-line treatment.

RESUMO

Valve surgery is common in cardiac procedures, with fasteners like COR-KNOT® and hand-tied knots used for knot securing. This study compares their efficacy in valve surgery patients. We searched PubMed, SCOPUS, and Cochrane Central until August 2023. Outcomes assessed included aortic cross-clamp time (AXT), cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time, valvular regurgitation, mortality, prolonged ventilatory support, atrial fibrillation, postoperative left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and renal failure. Subgroup analysis was performed for minimally invasive and open cardiac surgery. We used a random effects model for analysis. We included eight observational studies and two randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with a total of 1.411 participants. COR-KNOT significantly reduced AXT [MD -15.14, 95 % CI (-18.57, -11.70), P<0.00001] and CPB time [MD -12.38, 95 % CI (-14.99, -9.77), P<0.00001]. Valvular regurgitation [RR 0.40, 95 % CI (0.26, 0.61), P<0.0001] and need for prolonged ventilatory support [RR 0.29, 95 % CI (0.13, 0.65), P=0.003] were significantly lower with COR-KNOT. There were no significant differences in mortality [RR 0.39, 95 % CI (0.09, 1.69), P=0.44], atrial fibrillation [RR 1.03, 95 % CI (0.83, 1.27), P=0.81], LVEF changes [MD 0.05, 95 % CI (-1.37, 1.47), P = 0.95], or renal failure [RR 0.87, 95 % CI (0.16, 4.80), P = 0.87]. COR-KNOT devices reduce operative time and valvular regurgitation without increasing mortality or adverse outcomes. This supports their use in enhancing surgical efficiency and patient outcomes. However, ongoing discussions about suturing techniques, especially in minimally invasive procedures, highlight the need for further research and consensus among practitioners. See also the graphical abstract(Fig. 1).

RESUMO

Exploration of high-performance catalysts holds great importance for on-demand H2 production from ammonia borane (AB) hydrolysis. In this work, a hollow bowl-like porous carbon-anchored Ru-MgO hetero-structured nano-pair with high-intensity interfaces is made, using a tailored design approach. Consequently, the optimized catalyst shows AB hydrolysis activity with a turnover frequency value of 784 min-1 in aqueous media and 1971 min-1 in alkaline solvent. Robust durability is also achieved, with slight deactivation after a ten-cycle test. Combined experimental and theoretical calculations validate the positive function of the interface between Ru and MgO for facilitating H transfer and boosting water activation, thus leading to improved AB hydrolysis performance. This study could be valuable in guiding the upgradation of Ru catalytic systems, to advance their practical applications.

RESUMO

The intrinsic roadblocks for designing promising Pt-based oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts emanate from the strong scaling relationship and activity-stability-cost trade-offs. Here, a carbon-supported Pt nanoparticle and a Mn single atom (PtNP-MnSA/C) as in situ constructed PtNP-MnSA pairs are demonstrated to be an efficient catalyst to circumvent the above seesaws with only ∼4 wt % Pt loadings. Experimental and theoretical investigations suggest that MnSA functions not only as the "assist" for Pt sites to cooperatively facilitate the dissociation of O2 due to the strong electronic polarization, affording the dissociative pathway with reduced H2O2 production, but also as an electronic structure "modulator" to downshift the d-band center of Pt sites, alleviating the overbinding of oxygen-containing intermediates. More importantly, MnSA also serves as a "stabilizer" to endow PtNP-MnSA/C with excellent structural stability and low Fenton-like reactivity, resisting the fast demetalation of metal sites. As a result, PtNPs-MnSA/C shows promising ORR performance with a half-wave potential of 0.93 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode and a high mass activity of 1.77 A/mgPt at 0.9 V in acid media, which is 19 times higher than that of commercial Pt/C and only declines by 5% after 80,000 potential cycles. Specifically, PtNPs-MnSA/C reaches a power density of 1214 mW/cm2 at 2.87 A/cm2 in an H2-O2 fuel cell.

RESUMO

The development of the metanephros in one-humped camels involves a complex series of interactions between epithelial and mesenchymal cells. As a result, there is a synchronized differentiation process of stromal, vascular and epithelial cell types during glomerulogenesis, angiogenesis and tubulogenesis. In the current work, the metanephros of camel foetuses were divided into four stages where kidneys from each stage were processed and immunoassayed, followed by quantitative analysis to determine target protein intensities throughout metanephrogenesis in the camel. This study demonstrated robust expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in the glomerular mesangium, as well as in interlobular and glomerular arterioles during the earlier stages of development. However, in the late stages, α-SMA expression became more localized around the blood capillaries in both the cortex and medulla. Strong expression of CD34 was observed in the immature glomerular and peritubular endothelial cells within the subcapsular zone, as well as in the glomerular, proximal tubular and distal tubular epithelium of stage one foetuses, although its expression gradually diminished with foetal maturation. The expression pattern of osteopontin was prominently observed in the distal convoluted tubules throughout all stages, however, no expression was detected in the proximal tubules, glomeruli and arterioles. E-cadherin was detected in the developing renal tubular epithelial cells but not in the glomeruli. In conclusion, this study reveals the spatiotemporal distribution of key proteins, including α-SMA, CD34, Osteopontin and E-cadherin, which play a crucial role in metanephrogenesis in camel foetuses.
