RESUMO
OBJECTIVES: to correlate the development of Burnout Syndrome in higher education professors with the following variables: sociodemographic, economic, work, sleep pattern, level of anxiety and quality of life. METHODS: observational, analytical, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Data collection took place from August to November 2022, with 140 professors from a private higher education institution in the Western Brazilian Amazon. RESULTS: professors who carried out activities outside institutional hours and who had sleep duration < 5 hours, presented lower scores in the personal fulfillment dimension of burnout, with (p=0.002) and (p=0.001), respectively. The higher the scores for the physical (p=0.001), psychological (p=0.000) and social relationships (p=0.002) domains of quality of life, the lower the personal fulfillment scores for the syndrome. CONCLUSIONS: through linear regression, it was evidenced that several variables explain the development of burnout. Institutional and governmental actions can minimize the negative influence of these variables.

OBJECTIVES: to assess the physical and mental components of nursing professionals' quality of life and associate them with individual, health and work characteristics. METHODS: cross-sectional research, with nursing professionals from a university hospital in São Paulo. Own questionnaire and validated instruments were applied. RESULTS: the overall quality of life was compromised. The physical component was lower in relation to low family income and among those who perceived greater control/pressure at work, and better for those who practiced physical activity and had support of leader and organization. The mental component was lower in professionals who reported dissatisfaction with work, worse self-rated physical health and were older. Scores for both components reduced due to work-related illnesses, worse work ability and increased daytime sleepiness. CONCLUSIONS: quality of life was statistically associated with controllable institutional factors and individual resources that, except age, can be promoted.

RESUMEN Objetivos: correlacionar variables sociodemográficas, económicas, laborales, patrón de sueño, nivel de ansiedad y calidad de vida con el desarrollo del Síndrome de Burnout en profesores de enseñanza superior. Métodos: es un estudio observacional, analítico y transversal con enfoque cuantitativo. Los datos se recogieron entre agosto y noviembre de 2022 de 140 profesores en una institución privada de enseñanza superior de la Amazonia Occidental brasileña. Resultados: los docentes que realizaban actividades fuera del horario institucional y que tenían una duración del sueño <5 horas presentaban puntuaciones más bajas en la dimensión de la realización personal del burnout, con (p=0,002) y (p=0,001), respectivamente. Cuanto mayores eran las puntuaciones de los dominios físico (p=0,001), psicológico (p=0,000) y relaciones sociales (p=0,002) de la calidad de vida, menores eran las puntuaciones de realización personal del síndrome. Conclusiones: la regresión lineal mostró que diversas variables explican el desarrollo del burnout. Las acciones institucionales y gubernamentales pueden minimizar la influencia negativa de dichas variables.

Métodos: estudo observacional, analítico, transversal e com abordagem quantitativa. A coleta dos dados ocorreu de agosto a novembro de 2022, com 140 docentes de uma instituição de ensino superior privada, da Amazônia Ocidental Brasileira. Resultados: docentes que realizavam atividades fora do horário institucional e que tinham duração do sono < 5 horas, apresentaram menores escores na dimensão da realização pessoal do burnout, com (p=0,002) e (p=0,001), respectivamente. Quanto maior os escores dos domínios físico (p=0,001), psicológico (p=0,000) e relações sociais (p=0,002) da qualidade de vida, menores foram os escores de realização pessoal da síndrome. Conclusões: por meio da regressão linear, evidenciou-se que diversas variáveis explicam o desenvolvimento do burnout. Ações institucionais e governamentais podem minimizar a influência negativa dessas variáveis.

RESUMEN Objetivos: evaluar los componentes físicos y mentales de la calidad de vida de los profesionales de enfermería y asociarlos con características individuales, de salud y laborales. Métodos: investigación transversal, con profesionales de enfermería de un hospital universitario de São Paulo. Se aplicó cuestionario propio e instrumentos validados. Resultados: la calidad de vida general se vio comprometida. El componente físico fue menor en relación con bajos ingresos familiares y entre quienes percibieron mayor control/presión en el trabajo, y mejor para quienes practicaban actividad física y contaban con apoyo de la dirección y organización. El componente mental fue menor en los profesionales que refirieron insatisfacción con el trabajo, peor salud física autovalorada y mayor edad. Las puntuaciones de ambos componentes se redujeron debido a enfermedades relacionadas con el trabajo, peor capacidad laboral y aumento de la somnolencia diurna. Conclusiones: la calidad de vida se asoció estadísticamente con factores institucionales controlables y recursos individuales que, excepto la edad, pueden ser promovidos.
RESUMO Objetivos: avaliar os componentes físico e mental da qualidade de vida de profissionais de enfermagem e associá-los às características individuais, de saúde e do trabalho. Métodos: pesquisa transversal, com profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital universitário de São Paulo. Aplicados questionário próprio e instrumentos validados. Resultados: a qualidade de vida geral mostrou-se comprometida. O componente físico foi menor em relação à baixa renda familiar e entre os que percebiam maior controle/pressão no trabalho, e melhor para quem praticava atividade física e tinha apoio da chefia e organização. O componente mental foi menor nos profissionais que referiram insatisfação com o trabalho, pior autoavaliação de saúde física e com idade elevada. Escores de ambos componentes reduziram mediante doenças relacionadas ao trabalho, pior capacidade para o trabalho e aumento da sonolência diurna. Conclusões: a qualidade de vida foi estatisticamente associada a fatores institucionais controláveis e recursos individuais que, exceto idade, podem ser promovidos.

METHODS: an analytical cross-sectional study of survey and association between variables with a sample of 475 participants. Statistical analyzes were performed using the Mann-Whitney test, Pearson's chi-square test, likelihood ratio test or Fisher's exact test and a logistic regression model. A significance level of 5% was used (p-value< 0.05). RESULTS: a higher proportion of suicidal behavior was found in younger participants, females, who had no religion or had one, but were non-practicing, who did not have children and/or had a monthly family income of less than two minimum wages. Lower proportions of suicidal behavior were identified in heterosexuals and/or married or in a stable relationship. CONCLUSION: the study suggests a relationship between sociodemographic factors and suicidal behavior in the studied academic community.

RESUMEN Objetivo: determinar los factores de riesgo para la conducta suicida entre estudiantes y empleados de una universidad pública federal en la Amazonía occidental brasileña. Métodos: estudio analítico transversal de encuesta y asociación entre variables con una muestra de 475 participantes. Los análisis estadísticos se realizaron mediante las pruebas Mann-Whitney, chi-cuadrado de Pearson, razón de verosimilitud o exacta de Fisher y un modelo de regresión logística. Se utilizó un nivel de significancia del 5% (p-valor <0,05). Resultados: se encontró mayor proporción de conducta suicida en los participantes más jóvenes, mujeres, que no tenían religión o la tenían pero no la practicaban, que no tenían hijos y/o tenían un ingreso familiar mensual inferior a dos salarios mínimos. Se identificaron menores proporciones de conducta suicida en heterosexuales y/o casados o en relación estable. Conclusión: el estudio sugiere una relación entre factores sociodemográficos y conducta suicida en la comunidad académica estudiada.
RESUMO Objetivo: determinar os fatores de risco para o comportamento suicida entre estudantes e servidores de uma universidade pública federal da Amazônia Ocidental brasileira. Métodos: estudo do tipo transversal analítico de levantamento e associação entre variáveis com uma amostra de 475 participantes. As análises estatísticas foram feitas por Teste de Mann-Whitney, Teste Qui-Quadrado de Pearson, Teste da Razão de Verossimilhança ou Teste Exato de Fisher e modelo de regressão logística. Foi utilizado um nível de significância de 5% (p-valor < 0,05). Resultados: foi encontrada maior proporção de comportamento suicida em participante com idade menor, sexo feminino, que não possuía religião ou possuía, mas não era praticante, que não tinha filhos e/ou possuía renda familiar mensal inferior a dois salários mínimos. Menores proporções de comportamento suicida foram identificadas em heterossexuais e/ou casados ou em união estável. Conclusão: o estudo sugere relação entre fatores sociodemográficos com o comportamento suicida na comunidade acadêmica estudada.
RESUMO
The exercise could play a central role to the fat management and glucose metabolism what can be a critical role in the health status of diabetic people, but the high intense exercise remains with controversial data about their effects. To identify the effect of the multimodal high-intensity interval training on body composition, lipid profile, and glucose metabolism in elderly diabetics. Methods: Elderly diabetic individuals (n = 48) were randomly divided in a Sedentary Control (SC) group, a Moderate-Intensity Continuous Training (MICT) group, and a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) group. MICT and HITT were conducted over 60 days, 3x per week, with 40 minutes of exercise. Blood was collected prior to intervention, at four, and at eight weeks subsequently to assess glucose metabolism and lipid profiles. Body composition was determined before and after the intervention period. To verify the normality Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test was performed, followed by student "t" test or two-way ANOVA with Bonferroni's post hoc test with significance of 5 % the Cohen's f test to indicate the magnitude of the differences. HIIT significantly lowered cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and significantly lowered blood glucose and glycosylated haemoglobin levels (p<0.05). MICT and HIIT significantly increased levels of high-density lipoprotein, decreased total body mass and body mass index. HIIT resulted in significantly smaller waist circumferences, waist-to-hip ratios, and weight-to-height ratios over 60 days of training. HIIT is more effective than MICT for improving lipid and glycaemic profiles, decreasing body fat, and improving fat distribution elderly diabetics.
El ejercicio podría desempeñar un papel central en el manejo de la grasa y el metabolismo de la glucosa, lo que puede ser un papel crítico en el estado de salud de las personas diabéticas, pero el ejercicio intenso intenso sigue teniendo datos controvertidos sobre sus efectos. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar el efecto del entrenamiento multimodal de intervalos de alta intensidad sobre la composición corporal, el perfil lipídico y el metabolismo de la glucosa en diabéticos de edad avanzada. Los individuos diabéticos de edad avanzada (n = 48) se dividieron aleatoriamente en un grupo de control sedentario (SC), un grupo de entrenamiento continuo de intensidad moderada (MICT) y un grupo de entrenamiento de intervalos de alta intensidad (HIIT). MICT y HITT se realizaron durante 60 días, 3 veces por semana, con 40 minutos de ejercicio. Se recogió sangre antes de la intervención, a las cuatro y a las ocho semanas posteriormente para evaluar el metabolismo de la glucosa y los perfiles de lípidos. La composición corporal se determinó antes y después del período de intervención. Para verificar la normalidad se realizó la prueba estadística de Kolmogorov-Smirnov, seguida de la prueba "t" de Student o ANOVA de dos vías con la prueba post hoc de Bonferroni con una significancia del 5 % de la prueba f de Cohen, indicando las diferencias. HIIT redujo significativamente los niveles de colesterol y triglicéridos, además de reducir de manera importante los niveles de glucosa en la sangre y la hemoglobina glicosilada (p <0.05). MICT y HIIT aumentaron significativamente los niveles de lipoproteína de alta densidad, disminuyeron la masa corporal total y el índice de masa corporal. HIIT resultó en circunferencias de cintura significativamente más pequeñas, relaciones cintura-cadera y relaciones peso-altura durante 60 días de entrenamiento. HIIT es más efectivo que MICT para mejorar los perfiles de lípidos y glucémicos, disminuir la grasa corporal y mejorar la distribución de grasa en los diabéticos de edad avanzada.

INTRODUCTION: Maturation is a biological phenomenon inherent to the human being that acts alongside environmental factors in its relationship with the development of children and adolescents OBJECTIVE: To analyse the motor skills during maturational stages of female adolescents. METHODS: This study included 133 female adolescents aged between 10 and 17 years from federal schools in the city of Rio Branco, State of Acre, Brazil. Sexual maturation was evaluated using Tanner's self-assessment. Motor skills were assessed using the following tests: strength (Jump Test); coordination (Burpee Test); balance (Flamingo Test); flexibility (Sit and Reach Test); agility (Shuttle Run Test). The data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software through analysis of variance. The significance level was fixed at 5%. RESULTS: No significant statistical results were found for strength, agility, balance and flexibility, evidencing that maturational advances did not influence these skills. In the coordination variable, significant results were obtained. CONCLUSION: The results of this study suggest that maturational advancement in adolescents does not influence strength, agility, balance or flexibility. However, it does influence coordination, presenting better performance at stage P2.
INTRODUÇÃO: A maturação é um fenômeno biológico inerente ao ser humano que atua em conjunto com fatores ambientais devido a sua relação com desenvolvimento de crianças e adolescentes OBJETIVO: Analisar as capacidades motoras nos estágios maturacionais de adolescentes do sexo feminino. MÉTODO: Participaram deste estudo 133 adolescentes do sexo feminino, entre os 10 e os 17 anos provenientes de uma escola Federal na cidade de Rio Branco, no Estado do Acre. A maturação sexual foi avaliada através do método da auto avaliação das pranchas de TANNER. As capacidades motoras foram analisadas através dos testes: Força, Jump Test; Coordenação, Teste de Burpee; Equilíbrio, Teste flamingo; Flexibilidade, Teste de Sentar e Alcançar; Agilidade, Teste de Shuttle Run. Os dados foram analisados no programa R através de Análise de Variância (ANOVA). O nível de significância fixou-se em 5%. RESULTADO: Não foram encontrados resultados estatisticamente significativos nos fatores força, agilidade, equilíbrio e flexibilidade. No fator coordenação obtivemos resultados estatisticamente significativos. CONCLUSÃO: O avanço maturacional de adolescentes não influenciou na força, agilidade, equilíbrio e flexibilidade. No entanto, influenciou na coordenação motora, apresentando um melhor desempenho no estágio P2.
