RESUMO

UNLABELLED: Non immune hydrops is an uncommon entity, it is observed in one per 2,000 to 3,500 alive birth. It can be idiopathic or secondary to different pathologies, the most important examples are: congenital malformations, cromosompathies or viral infections. OBJECTIVE: To show our therapeutic and diagnostic experience in two cases of non immune hydrops. STUDY DESIGN: To present a case of spontaneous reversion of non immune hydrops secondary to parvovirus B 19 infection and other case secondary to congenital cardiopathy. RESULTS: We found spontaneous reversion of a case of non immune hydrops due to a parvovirus B 19 infection and infant was normal but the infant with congenital cardiopathy died ten minutes after birth. CONCLUSIONS: Two of the most important causes of non immune hydrops are cardiopathies and infections, specially parvovirus which is responsible of poor perinatal outcome but there is a remote possibility of spontaneous reversion because it is important to make a specific diagnose and to make the expected management.

RESUMO

The objective was to analyse the levels of uric acid in the hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. The research involves the study of 137 patients that suffered any hypertensive disease associated with pregnancy, hospitalized on the Luis Castelazo Ayala Hospital. The patients were classified according to the ACOG. The levels of uric acid observed were measured and compared against one control group and between them. The levels of uric acid observed in any hypertensive state of pregnancy are superior to the ones observed in then control group. On patients with chronical hypertension complicated with preeclampsia, the levels of uric acid were above the levels observed on patients with chronic hypertension itself. It is not known with certainty, but some authors think that the problem es rather tubular than glomerular. There is not an exact explanation about uric acid's depuration. Nevertheless, the common characteristic is a reduction of renal perfusion. Uric acid is related with the degree of severity. Moreover, uric acid is a good indicator for the detection of hypertensive states of pregnancy.

RESUMO

Traditionally obstetric infections have been treated with combination antimicrobial agents that provide coverage against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria commonly found in these infections. New antibiotics may be a monotherapy alternative for this type of infections. The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy of the agent piperacillin/tazobactam against ampicillin plus gentamicin in the treatment of postcesarean endometritis. By randomized way 14 patients were enrolled in the piperacillin/tazobactam group and 42 in the ampicillin-gentamicin group. A favorable clinical response occurred in 78.6% of piperacillin/tazobactam patients and 88.1% of ampicillin and gentamicin patients (p = NS). There was no statistically significant difference in the times to recovery and days of hospitalization between the two groups. The combination piperacillin/tazobactam did not show advantage towards the standard treatment, so combination antimicrobial agent continue been the optimal approach to the management of obstetric infection.

RESUMO

Morbimortality between hysterorraphy in one and two planes, was compared. One hundred patients in whom hysterorraphy in one plane, was done with a control group of one hundred with hysterorraphy in two planes, were studied, and evolution was compared. The time of surgery was 50% lees with the hysterorraphy in one plane. (P minor 0.0001). Bleeding of 100 cc. lees (P minor 0.001). There was no difference about complications of both methods. There was no difference in morbimortality. The cicatrization during sixty days after surgery is the same.
