RESUMO

The paper analyses results after 133 operations on occasion of a simple, mixed and compound astigmatism; 4 methods of surgical correction were used: longitudinal, tangential, radial and combined. The analysis has shown that corneal astigmatism of different kinds and degrees can be corrected by different methods of anterior keratotomy. As a result of surgical treatment, the degree of refraction of both spherical and cylindrical, reduced and visual acuity with tolerant correction increased. The choice of the method depends on the kind and degree of astigmatism and the degree of the spherical ametropia of the operated eye.

RESUMO

The paper describes a morphologic picture of changes in eye tissues of rabbits in transconjunctival scleral action on the ciliary body by means of krypton laser (wavelength--647.1 nm) working in a continuous regime. The applications were located 1.0-1.5 mm from the limbus with energy--0.8--3.0 Wt, exposition time--2.0 sec., spot diameter--1000 mcm. The degree of necrosis of ciliary epithelium and atrophy of ciliary processes are directly dependent on the dose of action. Thus, the greatest part of laser radiation with 647.1 nm wavelength is absorbed at the level of the ciliary body. In perspective, this can lead to development of new methods for treatment of some eye diseases, such as glaucoma, tumors of the uveal tract, etc.

RESUMO

The paper describes results after treatment of 12 patients with cystic filtration cushions formed after antiglaucomatous operations. Two methods were used: introduction, into the cystic filtration cavity, of either autologous blood or serum of autologous blood stained by sodium fluorescein solution with subsequent coagulation by argon laser radiation, energy 0.2-0.4 wt, spot diameter 200-500 mem, exposition time 0.2-0.3 sec. The number of applied coagula depended on the size of a cystic filtration cushion. The results of treatment, followed up within a year, have shown formation of a filtration cushion of a vague type, appearance of stabilization of intraocular pressure and visual functions in all patients.

RESUMO

In 210 patients (210 eyes) with open-angle glaucoma, remote results (3 years) after sinusotrabeculectomy in Cairns-Krasnov's modification were compared with those after optimised performance of main surgical stages. Separation of a scleral flap at the depth of 350-400 mcm, localization of the drainage system by a developed microdiaphanoscopic method and subsequent removal of a fragment of the Schlemm canal and trabeculae provide a more stable hypotensive effect and preserve visual functions as compared with results of traditional methods. High effectiveness of the method is connected with avoiding of such variants of the surgical technique that can lead to development of complications.

RESUMO

The effect of argon laser irradiation on the microvessels of the subcutaneous fat tissue of rabbit's ear placed into Clark's transparent chamber was studied. Capillaries and venules were found to be sensitive to argon laser irradiation; functional disturbances of microcirculation were most distinct. Following laser irradiation an active reconstruction of the microcirculatory bed with the redistribution of the blood stream took place along with destruction of the vascular wall and perivascular inflammation.
