Hemorragia por ruptura de pseudoaneurisma pancreático: caso clínico / Bleeding due to gastroduodenal arterial pseudoaneurysm in a patient with an infected pancreatic pseudocyst: clinical case

We report a 52 year old man with a pancreatic pseudocyst, that was admitted with severe abdominal pain, severe vomiting, fever and malaise. The clinical picture was considered secondary to a pseudocyst infection and the patient was operated, draining the infected cyst performing a necrosectomy and pancreatocystojejunostomy. Forty eight hours after the operation, an ostomy bleeding was detected. A upper mesenteric artery angiography showed two pseudoaneurysms in the gastroduodenal artery, that were embolized. Bleeding stopped initially, but seven days later, it reappeard. The patient was subjected to an emergency pancreatoduodenectomy. Postoperative evolution was uneventful and the patient was discharged two weeks later. Spontaneous bleeding of pseudoaneurysms secondary to chronic pancreatitis is a complication with a 15 to 40 percent mortality that must be bore in mind

The calculations of the spinal column loading of miners are based on working time studies in operations with predominantly physical heavy work and elevated mechanical load. An elaborated model for the mining of ores, the applicability to underground workers and the comparability of loading quantities, based on the dosage measurement, are described.

22 health male subjects were exposed by a combination of physical exercises and heat. Strain related physiological and biochemical parameters were measured. Different individual reactions were obtained under controlled conditions. In dependence on the individual performance an increased mobilisation of lactat, free fatty acids and catecholamines were found. The determination of aerob physical performance can be applied for the evaluation of working capacity.

Simple apparatus for the discrimination of the majority carrier type in semiconductors.

An apparatus is proposed, showing the majority carrier type in semiconductors via an optical display. The operating method is based on the change in sign of the thermoelectric power.
