Authors report about the treatment of a retropharyngeal abscess manifested in an unusually young lifetime. They consider treatment with serial suctions and rinses satisfactory, as well as that with parenteral antibiotics given on the basis of examinations of bacterial resistance. By describing their case, they would like to call attention to the possibility of the illness manifesting in a very young lifetime.
