Clinical findings of diabetic antgiopathy are usually caused by micro- and macroangiopathy and neuropathy. Predominant in this disease is the acral lesion. Differentialtherapy of diabetic angiopathy needs experience and patience of the attending physician and the patient.

In cerebro-vascular deficiency the significance of carotoid artery-stenosis is determined by local and general risk factors. Indications for surgical treatment depend both on the degree and variety of stenosis. Clinical findings and measuring of blood pressure during operation have shown that cardiac efficiency, blood pressure, sympathetic affections of other brain-supplying arteries and above all function of arterious circle of Willis constitute further important risk factors.

[Clinical experiences with untreated homologous vein grafts in reconstruction of arteries (author's transl)]. / Erfahrungen mit der unpräparierten homologen Vene bei der Rekonstruktion erkrankter und verletzter Arterien

50 transplantations of homologous vein grafts in reconstruction of arteries are reported on. Vein grafts were either transplanted immediately or used after deep freezing. This procedure has proved to be effective in the replacement of arteries during our observation period of four years. Results of homologous vein transplants are similar to those of autologous transplants.
