[Results of combined drug and radiotherapy in bronchial carcinoma]. / Ergebnisse einer kombinierten Chemo- und Strahlentherapie des Bronchialkarzinoms

90 out of 191 patients with bronchial carcinomas were treated exclusively with telecobalt (focal dose ofer 4,500 rad), 78 patients were given an additional treatment with Proresid, and 23 patients were additionally treated with 5-fluorouracil under so-called synchronization conditions. As far as the Proresid is concerned, the combination with the chemotherapy did not bring about an amelioration of the survival rates compared to the results of the radiotherapy alone. The survival rate of the patients treated with cobalt 60 and with 5-fluorouracil even showed a considerable decrease, so that the described combination therapies are not longer used in our institute.

[Pyloric stenosis - a complication of cholelithiasis. (Case of gallstone perforation into the duodenal bulb)]. / Magenausgangsstenose - Komplikation bei Cholelithiasis (Beobachtung einer Gallensteinperforation in den Bulbus duodeni)

Pressure-necrosis followed by stone perforation is ralatively rare among the complications of cholelithiasis. There is always a danger of a stenosis in the gastro-intestinal tract. Report of a case of perforation of a gallstone into the duodenal bulb producing few signs but the clinical picture of pyloric stenosis. Symptoms, signs and differential diagnosis are discussed on the basis of the literature.
