RESUMO

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder due to translocation between chromosomes (9, 22), known as the "Philadelphia chromosome." In 2016, the World health organization (WHO) introduced a new clinical entity of de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Both diseases share some commonalities, therefore, create a challenge to diagnose.

RESUMO

The study was conducted to ascertain the role of talent management practices in promoting green corporate entrepreneurship through the median of organizational engagement in the context of COVID-19. The study is quantitative and deductive in nature. The data was collected from 323 employees working in the large manufacturing industry. The data was collected through a self-administered survey and the data analysis was done through Smart-PLS, both measurement and structural models were evaluated. The study found that talent management is related to green corporate entrepreneurship. The study also confirmed the mediating role of organizational engagement relating talent management with green corporate entrepreneurship. This study will develop insight for the corporate managers and decision-makers to understand the intricacies of the talent management process and its interplay with green corporate entrepreneurship, and organizational engagement. Talent Management is concerned with the process of hiring, developing, and retaining highly competent incumbents for pivotal positions. Hence, the role of the talent management process invariably affects the organizational processes and outcomes like creativity and innovation, which come under the umbrella of corporate entrepreneurship. This study will not only add value in empirical research of the chosen concepts and constructs, but it will also bridge the theoretical gap between talent management and corporate entrepreneurship. It is the first study that related talent management practices to green corporate entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it is the first study that examined the mediating role of organizational engagement relating talent management to green corporate entrepreneurship.

RESUMO

Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax) is a protozoan parasite that causes vivax malaria. Disease relapse post-treatment is reported in P. vivax co-infection with other bacterial and parasitic infections, but Plasmodium vivax reactivation is not very common with viral infections. Early recognition and diagnosis of a Plasmodium vivax malaria relapse in a non-endemic region pose a diagnostic dilemma. COVID-19 co-infection compounds this dilemma due to overlapping symptoms. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for a favorable clinical outcome. We report a middle-aged gentleman with high-grade fever and headaches who had COVID-19 and was found to have a relapse of Plasmodium vivax malaria.

RESUMO

The objective of the study is to examine the dynamic linkages between population growth, price level, poverty headcount ratio, and carbon emissions under investigation of different plausible hypothesis, including "population-induced poverty trap," "welfare-reducing effects," "environmental Kuznets curve," and "pollution haven" hypotheses in the cross-sectional setting of 98 developed and developing countries for the period of 2011. The study used cross-sectional regression and switching regression regime for empirical analysis. The result shows a positive relationship between changes in price level and carbon emissions that verify "welfare-reducing effects," while there is a negative relationship between population growth and poverty at varying poverty threshold to support the "Gary Becker human capital theory." Further, there is a positive relationship between poverty rates and carbon emissions across countries. The results verified the "pollution haven" hypothesis in account of increase in pollution through financial liberalization policies. A U-shaped relationship is found between economic growth and carbon emissions in a given time period. The study concludes that globalized world should have to be careful when devising environmental sustainability policies, as it is important to provide social safety nets to the lower income strata group; hence, it would be helpful to achieve global green development agenda.
