The article deals with interaction between human aviation operator and airborne and ground-based display systems. The authors stress significant changes in binocular vision, that demonstrate dynamics in general fatigue.

[Laser stroboscopy and software tests in the evaluation of visual performance in dispatchers and pilots of civil aviation]. / Lazernaia stroboskopiia i komp'iuternoe testirovanie v otsenke zritel'noi rabotosposobnosti u lits dispetcherskogo i letnogo sostava grazhdanskoi aviatsii.

The article deals with original methods of ophthalmic ergonomic diagnosis based on laser speckles. The authors suggest some software methods to examine visual performance.

[Changes in clinical refraction in future pilots during the course of training]. / Izmenenie klinicheskoi refraktsii pri dinamicheskom nabliudenii u kursantov v protsesse letnogo obucheniia.

Changes in clinical refraction parameters were followed up in 343 students of school of pilots in the town of Burguruslan in the course of vocational training. Skiascopy and laser refractometry methods were used. Dynamic follow-up of clinical refraction showed its increase in 24.3% of the examinees both with emmetropia and hypertropia or myopia. The most noticeable increase of refraction was observed during the first two years of training, which may be explained by intensive exercise of the eyes because of theoretical studies and flights. The results evidence practical advantages of laser refractometry in comparison with skiascopy.

[The status of ocular fixation in civil aviation pilots]. / Sostoianie zritel'noi fiksatsii u pilotov grazhdanskoi aviatsii.

This paper discussed the importance of gaze fixation for professional pilot activities. It describes new methods for evaluating mono- and binocular fixation. The results of examinations of pilots with mild emmetropia and ametropia demonstrate that qualitative parameters of gaze fixation are important adequate assessment of visual abilities. Fixation parameters measured using standard methods and authors' techniques have been compared. The paper presents the values of gaze fixation that require rehabilitation procedures.
