RESUMO

A series of new tetrachromophoric systems based on stereoregular tetracyclosiloxanes and dibenzoylmethanatoboron difluoride derivatives have been synthesized and characterized by a complex of physicochemical methods. The photophysical properties of the synthesized compounds are studied by electronic absorption, steady-state, and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. In the synthesized compounds, four dibenzoylmethanatoboron difluoride (DBMBF2)-based fluorophores are in an all-cis arrangement with respect to a cyclotetrasiloxane scaffold. DFT calculations predict that they can form H-type dimers, trimers, or tetramers with an antiparallel orientation of their ground-state dipole moments. Under UV excitation, solutions of these compounds in polar and nonpolar solvents exhibit complex fluorescence consisting of monomer- and excimer-like emissions with different lifetimes. Global fitting analysis reveals the presence of at least four kinetically distinguishable species in the excited state. The studied compounds in solutions have CIE chromaticity coordinates very close to the white color point and are promising objects for the development of next-generation single-emission materials for white illumination.

RESUMO

Nowadays, luminescent materials attract wide attention due to their valuable characteristics and broad area of potential application. Luminescent silicone-based polymers possess unique properties, such as flexibility, hydrophobicity, thermal and chemical stabilities, etc., which allow them to be utilized in various fields, such as optoelectronics, solid-state lasers, luminescent solar concentrators, sensors, and others. In the present work, a metal-ligand interaction approach was applied to obtain new cross-linked luminescent polymers based on multiligand polysiloxanes with grafted ß-diketone fragments and organoeuropiumsiloxanes containing various organic substituents. Organoeuropiumsiloxanes were utilized as a source of Eu3+ ions due to their compatibility with the silicon matrix. All synthesized polymers were fully characterized and their physicochemical, mechanical, self-healing, optical, and thermal properties were studied.

RESUMO

New non-crystallizable low-dispersity star-shaped polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) containing stereoregular cis-tetra(organo)(dimethylsiloxy)cyclotetrasiloxanes containing methyl-, tolyl- and phenyl-substituents at silicon atoms and the mixture of four stereoisomers of tetra[phenyl(dimethylsiloxy)]cyclotetrasiloxane as the cores were synthesized. Their thermal and viscous properties were studied. All synthesized compounds were characterized by a complex of physicochemical analysis methods: nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), FT-IR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), viscometry in solution, rheometry, and Langmuir trough study.

RESUMO

A versatile equilibrium method for synthesizing ladder-like polyphenylsilsesquioxanes (L-PPSQs) with various molecular weights (from 4 to 500 kDa) in liquid ammonia was developed. The effect of diverse parameters, such as temperature, monomer concentration, reaction time, addition or removal of water from the reaction medium, on the polycondensation process was determined. The molecular weight characteristics and structure of the L-PPSQ elements obtained were determined by GPC, 1H, 29Si NMR, IR spectroscopy, viscometry, and PXRD methods. The physicochemical properties of L-PPSQs were determined by TGA and mechanical analyses.

RESUMO

This study presents the synthesis of organoboron derivatives of stereoregular 4-, 6-, and 12-unit phenylcyclosilsesquioxanes. All compounds obtained were isolated in good yields (70-80 %) and were fully characterized by 1 H, 13 C, 29 Si, 11 B NMR, IR spectroscopy, HRMS ESI, and elemental microanalysis. The structure of the key modifier, obtained for the first time, 4-(tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)phenyl) dimethylvinylsilane, was also confirmed by single-crystal XRD.

RESUMO

The molecular order and thermotropic transitions of tris-cis-tris-trans-dodeca- [organo(dimethylorganosiloxy)]cyclododecasiloxanes {RSi(O)[OSiMe(2)R']}(12) (R = Ph, R' = Me, CH(2)Cl, Vi; R = Me, Et, Vi, R' = Me) have been investigated using differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and X-ray scattering. The cyclododecasiloxanes with phenyl side groups (R = Ph) can form mesomorphic structures within a very wide temperature range. Compounds with R = Me and Vi are liquids and exhibit microphase separation above their glass transition temperature because of the different nature and structure of the organic R and trimethylsiloxy OSiMe(3) side groups. When the side group R = Et, a mesomorphic structure is formed in a substantially more narrow temperature region than that for cycles containing phenyl groups. Thus, the type of side group R in organocyclododecasiloxanes determines their ability for self-ordering into mesomorphic structures and the thermal stability of the mesomorphic state.

RESUMO

We report on the novel protocol for enzyme immobilization into gel of siloxanes using water-organic mixtures with the high content of organic solvent as a reaction medium. Hydrolysis of alkoxysilanes carried out without excessive dilution with water resulted in more active and stable enzyme containing membranes. Immobilization of an inherently labile lactate oxidase according to the proposed sol-gel protocol over Prussian Blue modified electrode resulted in an advanced lactate biosensor characterized with a sensitivity of 0.18 A M(-1) cm(-2) in the flow injection analysis (FIA) mode over a wide dynamic range. A comparison with the known sensors has shown that analytical performances of the elaborated lactate biosensor are advantageous over both published systems and commercialized devices. The biosensor shows an appropriate stability and is suitable for clinical analysis (including noninvasive diagnostics) and food quality control.

RESUMO

1,3,5,7-Tetramethyl-1,3,5,7-tetrahydroxycyclotetrasiloxane has been synthesized in good yield from tetrapotassium tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxanolate. Methods for isolation of all-cis-isomer I and cis-trans-cis-isomer II as the only crystalline product have been developed. Both isomers have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), elemental analysis, NMR ((1)H, (13)C, (29)Si), and IR. The stability of these compounds in solutions and the solid state has been investigated.

RESUMO

New stereoregular cyclic polysilanols of the general formula [PhSi(O)OH]n (n = 6 and 12) have been selectively obtained in high yields by the reaction of cagelike oligophenylmetallasiloxanes with dilute solutions of hydrochloric acid at low temperatures. An alternative method was used to prepare cis-[PhSi(O)OH](4) from sodium phenylsiloxanolate, cis-[(Na(+))(4)[PhSi(O)O(-)](4)].(1-butanol)(x). All compounds were fully characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy and molecular weight determinations. The structure of cis-[PhSi(O)OH](6) was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Furthermore, a series of stereoregular cyclosiloxanes containing triorganylsiloxy groups at each silicon atom was prepared by the reactions of the cyclic polysilanols with triorganylchlorosilanes Me(3)SiCl, Me(2)ViSiCl, and Me(2)(CH(2)Cl)SiCl.

RESUMO

The magnetic behavior of the clusters [(PhSiO(2))(6)Cu(6)(O(2)SiPh)(6)].6EtOH (1), Na(4)[(PhSiO(2))(12)Cu(4)].8(n)()BuOH (2), and K(4)[(C(2)H(3)SiO(2))(12)Cu(4)].6(n)()BuOH (3) has been investigated by combined magnetic susceptibility measurements and variable-temperature EPR techniques (9.25 and 245 GHz). The six copper(II) ions in the core of 1, which approaches 6/mmm symmetry, are ferromagnetically coupled as a result of the geometry at the bridging siloxanolate oxygen atoms (Cu-O-Cu = 91.5-94.6 degrees; J = -42 cm(-)(1) with H = J S(i)().S(i)()(+1), S(7) = S(1)). The ground S = 3 spin state is split in zero field mainly due to anisotropic exchange contributions (D = 0.30 cm(-)(1)). Notably, both the magnitude and the sign of the zero-field splitting parameter have been determined from HF-EPR spectra. Large antiferromagnetic Cu-Cu interactions (J approximately 200 cm(-)(1)) and an S = 0 ground state have been detected in the tetranuclear clusters 2 and 3 as a consequence of the larger Cu-O-Cu angles. The results presented in the paper are relevant to the search for new molecule-based magnetic materials.
