RESUMO

Physical, verbal, and relational bullying victimization are common forms of bullying victimization. Some victims may suffer only one form of victimization and some may suffer multiple forms of victimization at the same time. Bullying victimization groups are heterogeneous and different forms of victimization may have different combination patterns. Previous studies assessed patterns of bullying victimization among junior and senior high school students. However, limited studies explored patterns among elementary students and explored possible factors in shaping these patterns from the integrated perspective of family and individual. We expanded and deepened research in this area using questionnaires to collect self-report data for 866 parent/child pairs. Latent profile analysis was used to explore patterns of elementary students. Multinomial logistic regression was used to examine relations between patterns and family and individual factors. We found three bullying victimization groups: severe (5.4%), verbal (13.6%), and non-bullying victimization (81%). In family factors, the time parents spent with children was a protective factor for bullying victimization, and negative interactions with children was a risk factor. Individual-level protective factors for bullying victimization were coming from a single child household, positive coping style, and perceived peer support, whereas a negative coping style was a risk factor. These results indicate that different forms of bullying victimization co-occur among elementary school students. Some family and individual factors are associated with bullying victimization patterns. It is important to consider the heterogeneity among the bullying victimization groups of elementary students and influencing factors to develop targeted prevention interventions for different bullying victimization groups.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Given the high incidence of esophageal cancer in China, an increasing number of patients there are undergoing endoscopic mucosal dissection (ESD). Although the 5-year survival rate after ESD can exceed 95%, esophageal stricture, the most common and serious postoperative complication, affects the long-term prognosis of patients and the quality of life. Autologous mucosal grafts have proven to be successful in preventing stricture after ESD for early esophageal cancer. AIM: To examine the viability of acellular dermal matrix (ADM) as an alternative to autologous mucosa for the prevention of stricture after ESD. METHODS: This is a prospective, single-center, controlled study. Consecutive patients who underwent ESD surgery and were willing to undergo autologous mucosal transplantation were recruited between January 1 and December 31, 2017. Consecutive patients who underwent ESD surgery and were willing to undergo ADM transplantation were recruited between January 1 to December 31, 2019. A final three-year follow-up of patients who received transplants was conducted. RESULTS: Based on the current incidence of esophageal stricture, the sample size required for both the autologous mucosal graft group and the ADM group was calculated to be 160 cases. Due to various factors, a total of 20 patients with autologous mucosal grafts and 25 with ADM grafts were recruited. Based on the inclusion exclusion and withdrawal criteria, 9 patients ultimately received autologous mucosal grafts and completed the follow-up, while 11 patients received ADM grafts and completed the follow-up. Finally, there were 2 cases of stenosis in the autologous mucosal transplantation group with a stenosis rate of 22.22% and 2 cases of stenosis in the ADM transplantation group with a stenosis rate of 18.18%, with no significant difference noted between the groups (P = 0.94). CONCLUSION: In this prospective, single-center, controlled trial, we compared the effectiveness of autologous mucosa transplantation and ADM for the prevention of esophageal stricture. Due to certain condition limitations, we were unable to recruit sufficient subjects meeting our target requirements. However, we implemented strict inclusion, exclusion, and withdrawal criteria and successfully completed three years of follow-up, resulting in valuable clinical insights. Based on our findings, we hypothesize that ADM may be similarly effective to autologous mucosal transplantation in the prevention of esophageal stricture, offering a comparable and alternative approach. This study provides a new therapeutic idea and direction for the prevention of esophageal stricture.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Imported Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients pose a huge challenge to the prevention and control of the epidemic in prefecture-level cities in China. However, the treatment strategies at that time were mainly empirical and far from perfect. Hence, this study aims to summarize the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of all COVID-19 patients in Jiaxing City in 2020. METHODS: The clinical data of 42 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province from January 23, 2020 to March 4, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Epidemiological history and sociodemographic data were collected. Laboratory parameters, imaging and disease progression, treatment methods, efficacy and adverse reactions of COVID-19 cases were recorded. Then, the clinical characteristics as well as diagnosis and treatment were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: The median age of 42 patients was 47 years old, including 24 males (57.1%) and 18 females (42.9%). There were 21 first-generation cases, 29 cases (69%) of clustering onset related to first-generation cases, and 28 cases without any underlying diseases. Radiographic progression was reported in 17 patients (40.5%) (progression duration, 2-11 days; median progression duration, 3.8 days; average progression duration, 4.59-2.48 days). The main clinical symptoms include fever (78.6%) and cough (64.3%). A total of 37 patients (88.10%) received arbidol combined with lopinavir/ritonavir or darunavir/cobicistat. Of these, 22 patients (52.4%) took a combination with moxifloxacin tablets, and 20 patients (47.6%) took combined hormone therapy. Seventeen patients (40.48%) reported diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, and other adverse drug reactions. A total of 38 patients improved (90.5%). The hospital stays of 36 patients ranged from 7 to 33 days, with a median of 19 days (19.00-7.33 days on average). The virus nucleic acid test result return time was 1 to 32 days, with a median of 15.5 days (14.41-8.61 days on average). CONCLUSIONS: Most of the imported COVID-19 patients in Jiaxing City were of the first generation, mainly cluster onset, and the epidemiological characteristics were relatively simple. Arbidol combined with lopinavir/ritonavir or darunavir/cobicistat was the main treatment strategy for the initial treatment of COVID-19.

RESUMO

Background: Small intestinal lymphangioma is a very rare benign lesion. Thus far, the literature on small intestinal lymphangioma has mainly involved case reports. The present study retrospectively examined the clinical features of patients with a pathological diagnosis of small intestinal lymphangioma. Materials and methods: From January 2010 to January 2021, 15 patients were pathologically diagnosed with small intestinal lymphangioma. The age, gender, clinical manifestation, computed tomography (CT) findings, endoscopic findings, localization of the lesion, treatment method, complications, and follow-up were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Most of the patients had no symptoms, and those with symptoms had melena or abdominal pain. Lymphangioma was located in the duodenum in nine cases (60.0%), jejunum in two (13.3%), jejunal-ileal junction with mesentery involvement in one (6.7%) and ileum in three (20.0%). Three cases (20.0%) had multiple lesions, and the other 12 (80.0%) had single lesions. The median size of the lesions was 0.8 cm. Thirteen cases were found by endoscopy, and nine cases of them had white-colored spots on the surface. Ten cases (66.7%) underwent endoscopic treatment, three (20.0%) underwent surgical treatment, and two (13.3%) were followed up. Postoperative acute pancreatitis developed in one patient after endoscopic resection of duodenal papillary lymphangioma; postoperative abdominal bleeding occurred in one patient with jejunal lymphangioma who underwent partial small bowel resection. Conclusion: Small intestinal lymphangioma is extremely rare, and its clinical manifestations are non-specific. Endoscopy is of great value in the diagnosis of small intestinal lymphangioma. Depending on the clinical manifestations, the size, location and scope of the lesions, follow-up, endoscopic treatment and surgery can be selected.

RESUMO

The study aimed to examine the mechanism underlying the effect of basic psychological needs satisfaction (BPNs) on depression via feelings of safety or rumination in adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Self-report questionnaires were distributed to 683 middle school students from Hubei province in China. Structural Equation Modelling was used to analyse the data. The results showed that basic psychological needs satisfaction exerted negative effects on adolescents' depression in both a direct and an indirect way. In specific, basic psychological needs satisfaction not only directly reduced depression, but also indirectly reduced depression by the mediating role of feelings of safety, but not by rumination. Moreover, autonomy and relatedness, but not competence need satisfaction, indirectly reduced depression by the multiple mediating path from feelings of safety to rumination. The findings indicate satisfaction of basic psychological needs is important in increasing adolescents' feelings of safety, reducing negative cognitions, and alleviating their depression level during the pandemic.

RESUMO

Background: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has threatened adolescents' mental health and even elicited their academic problems. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the most common negative psychological reactions, and academic boredom is a typical academic problem to the pandemic. PTSD might be related to academic boredom, but the underlying mechanism of this potential relation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic remains unclear. Aims: Under the framework of the job demands-resources model and the model of compensatory internet use, this study aims to examine the mediating role of mobile phone dependency in the relation between PTSD and academic boredom. Methods: Six hundred and thirty-one middle school students in Hubei Province were investigated using self-report questionnaires. SPSS19.0 and Mplus7.0 were used for data analysis. Results: PTSD symptoms were associated positively with academic boredom, and mobile phone dependence played a mediating role in the relation between PTSD and academic boredom. Specifically, adolescents with severe PTSD symptoms tended to report greater dependency on mobile phones, and hence show higher levels of boredom in learning. Conclusion: PTSD symptoms of adolescents directly aggravated their academic boredom, and indirectly affected academic boredom by increasing their dependence on mobile phones.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Previous studies suggest that Crohn's disease (CD) with both small bowel and colon involvement is more serious than colonic CD. However, clinical features of isolated small-bowel CD have not been fully investigated. METHODS: In this retrospective case-control study, 89 patients were divided into two groups according to capsule endoscopy, ileocolonoscopy, and enhanced computed tomography results. The case group was isolated small-bowel CD (n = 50) and the control group was CD with both small bowel and colon involvement (n = 39). We collected data of the patients and analyze it. RESULTS: In univariate analysis, isolated small-bowel CD group had higher percentage of stricture, Lewis score, platelet, plateletcrit and lower Harvey-Bradshaw index, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate. In multivariable analysis, it had lower Harvey-Bradshaw index (p = 0.000), which meaned relatively mild symptoms. However, it had higher Lewis score (p = 0.007), which meaned more serious small-bowel inflammation. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve also suggested that isolated small-bowel CD patients were more likely to accept partial small intestinal resection surgery (p = 0.029). CONCLUSIONS: Isolated small-bowel CD is easily overlooked for milder clinical symptoms and relatively limited lessions, but severe small-bowel histological injury results in owing worse clinical outcomes. Clinicians should pay more attention to the isolated small-bowel CD and take aggressive intervention during therapy.

RESUMO

Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) from gaseous hydrocarbon sources has shown great promise for large-scale graphene growth, but the high growth temperature, typically 1050 °C, requires precise and expensive equipment and makes the direct deposition of graphene in electronic device manufacturing processes unfeasible due to the severe physical damage to substrates. Here we demonstrate a facile route to synthesize graphene by catalytic metal engineering and thermal processing. The engineered catalytic metal (copper) with carbon implantation could lower the synthetic temperature to 700 °C. And the resulting graphene shows few defects, uniform morphology and high carrier mobility, comparable to CVD graphene grown at 1050 °C. This technique could expand the applications of graphene in electronic and optoelectronic device manufacturing and is compatible with conventional microelectronics technology.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic removal of a duodenal lesion is still considered to be a challenging procedure that can be fraught with potentially serious complications, specifically perforation or delayed bleeding. This study was to assess the safety of endoscopic resection for duodenal subepithelial lesions (SELs) with wound closure using clips and an endoloop. METHODS: From October 2010 to July 2015, a total of 68 consecutive patients with duodenal SELs were treated with endoscopic resection with wound closure using clips and an endoloop. The main outcome measures considered were the incidence of complete resection, perioperative perforation, delayed perforation, delayed bleeding, residual lesions, and lesion recurrence. RESULTS: Complete resection was successfully achieved for all 68 patients. The median lesion size was 1.7 cm. The median procedure time was 62 min. The mean hospital stay was 5.5 days. During the procedure, five patients developed perioperative perforations (7.4 %) and no patients developed delayed bleeding, delayed perforation, or other serious complications. The five patients with perioperative perforations recovered after conservative treatment. The perioperative perforation rate was significantly higher for lesions originating in the muscularis propria layer (18.2 %) than in the submucosal layer (2.2 %; p < 0.05). No residual or recurrent lesions were detected during the follow-up period (median: 27 months). CONCLUSIONS: Endoscopic resection with wound closure using clips and an endoloop is an effective and reasonably safe therapeutic method for treating/removing duodenal SELs when managed by an experienced endoscopic team, and it can provide an alternative treatment option for patients with duodenal SELs.

RESUMO

We improve the surface of graphene by atomic layer deposition (ALD) without the assistance of a transition layer or surface functionalization. By controlling gas-solid physical adsorption between water molecules and graphene through the optimization of pre-H2O treatment and two-step temperature growth, we directly grew uniform and compact Al2O3 films onto graphene by ALD. Al2O3 films, deposited with 4-cycle pre-H2O treatment and 100-200 °C two-step growing process, presented a relative permittivity of 7.2 and a breakdown critical electrical field of 9 MV/cm. Moreover, the deposition of Al2O3 did not introduce any detective defects or disorders in graphene.
