RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of phonophoresis of etofenamate gel for postoperative analgesia after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).Methods A total of 80 adult patients were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n =40 in each group). The same basic analgesia protocol was performed in both groups, while phonophoresis of etofenamate gel was performed only in the experimental group (twice per day, from day 1 to day 7,postoperatively).Data recorded during an 8-week follow-up included Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores at rest and during continuous passive motion before surgery and 1 d,3 d,5 d,and 7 d after surgery, range of motion before surgery and 3 d,5 d,7 d,and 8 weeks after surgery, and Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) scores before surgery and 8 weeks after surgery.SPSS 18.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results The VAS scores at rest and during continuous passive motion 3 d,5 d,and 7 d after surgery were lower in the experimental group than in the control group (P < 0.05).The range of motion 3 d,5 d,7 d,and 8 weeks after surgery was better in the experimental group than in the control group (P < 0.05).The HSS scores 8 weeks after surgery were better in the experimental group than in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Phonophoresis of etofenamate gel provides effective pain control after TKA and is helpful for early functional recovery.

RESUMO

Objective To analyze, the risk factors and related psychological factors in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)and survey the curative effect. Methods All of 200 outpatients with GERD(GERD group) and 200 healthy persons (control group)from January 2006 to January 2008 were randomly selected, and the personal data were investigated. The GERD questionnaire (RDQ) and the Zung-self-rating depression scale (SDS) test were used. Results In GERD group, the proportions of high education, city living, marriage instability ,heavy working pressure, high body mass index (BMI),smoking and drinking habit, peptic disease in family, using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) were higher than those in control group (Pall < 0.01). After treatment, the patients in GERD group had lower scores in the RDQ and SDS test than those before treatment (P< 0.01). Conclusions There are many risk factors in patients with GERD, especially the psychological factors. The therapy of GERD should combine with psy-chotherapy and avoid high BMI, smoking, drinking and overusing the NSAID.

RESUMO

AIM: To observe the effects of diosgenin on enhancing efficacy and reducing toxicity of FT-207 in tumor-bearing mice. METHODS: The inhibitory rate on tumor growth and immune function of the in tumor-bearing mice model of transplanting MFC,HepA,H_22 and S_180 tumor were measured. RESULTS: Diosgenin had significant restraining effects on MFC in mouse. It could enhance the activity of macrophage and the level of serum hemolysin. CONCLUSION: Diosgenin can enhance the anti-tumor effect of FT-207.It can also improve the immunological function and reduce the adverse reactions of chemotherapy.
