RESUMO

In a recently promulgated theory of the occurrence of relapses in malaria, the authors of this theory state that the mosquito which feeds on a case of malaria of a species which is subject to relapses produces two kinds of sporozoite. One of these gives rise to an attack of malaria while the other remains dormant in a cell of the host's liver without change for an indefinite time. It can later undergo development to produce a relapse. The present author considers much more evidence of this is needed before the theory can be accepted.
