RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To understand the role of P-selectin (CD62P) and CD44 in mediating immune inflammation in the nephrotic process of children with IgA nephropathy (IgAN), cooperative expression of CD62P and CD44 in peripheral blood and renal tissues of IgAN children was investigated and its association with changes of histopathologic, serologic, and urinary properties was tested. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Forty-six IgAN children were divided into three groups according to pathologic grades and clinical features. Fifteen blood samples from normal children and four normal renal biopsy specimens were used as controls. Plasma level of CD62P was detected by double antibody sandwich immunoradiometric assay; ELISA was used to determine serum level of CD44. Expression of CD62P and CD44 in renal tissues was determined by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Cooperative expression of CD62P and CD44 was detected in renal tissues and peripheral blood of IgAN children. Altered expression of CD62P and CD44 in peripheral blood significantly correlated not only with hematuria, proteinuria, serum cholesterol, and albumin, and with urine NAG and beta(2)-MG, but also with degree of tubulointerstitial injury in IgAN children. CONCLUSION: The evidence supported CD62P and CD44 as initial and promoting factors mediating immune inflammation in the nephrotic process in IgAN children. The cooperative expression profiles of CD62P and CD44 in renal tissues and peripheral blood combined with serologic and urinary predictors may be important in diagnosis of progression in children with IgAN.

RESUMO

Objective To address medical relief algorithm in earthquake center by analyzing triage and transfer of casualties in the quake-hit center Yingxiu town in the wake of the 5·12 Wenchuan earthquake.Method According to the actual hard working conditions and rule of CBASHPLAN,the locale was derided into triage area,minor wounds area,severe wounds area and transfer area.Medical team coming from Soulhwest Hospital,the Third Military Medical University was derided into several groups. Triage, treatment and transfer of casualties well arranged. Results A total of 415 victims was treated by our medical team in early three days.Of these victims,251 were severe injuned,153 were debrided,12 were decompression with cutting open the wound because of their oseofascial canpartment syndrome,and 317 casualties were transferred by helicopters.No victim died during treatment and transfer at quake-stricken region.The whole work was proceeded in good order and efficiently.Conclusions Triage and transfer of casualties scientifically allowing for the capability of medical relief and the sufficiency of medical resources are very important to deal with batches of casualties in quake-stricken region.

Objective To investigate the effects of SWH solution on hepatic energy metabolism in SD rats compared with UW solution. Methods Levels of ATP, ADP, and AMP in hepatic tissues were examined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) while ALT, AST, and LDH were examined and the 7-day survival rate of animals was observed with orthotopic liver transplantation model in rats. Results Levels of ATP, TAN, and EC in 18-h group were significant lower than those in 8-h group. No significant difference was found between 12-h group and 8-h group. AST, ALT, and LDH were significantly increased after preservation for 18-h than preservation for 8-h. No significant difference was found between 12-h group and 8-h group. The 7-d survival rate of animals in SWH group was higher than that in UW group. The change tendency of ATP, TAN, and EC was the same as the tendency of 7-d survival rate of animals. Conclusion These results suggest that levels of ATP, ADP, and AMP in hepatic tissues are closely associated with the survival rate, and SWH solution is effective in protecting hepatic energy metabolism.
