RESUMO

The authors observed 68 drug addict in-patients, who received treatment for the pneumonia at the Primorski Regional Clinical Hospital and Vladivostok Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 1. The article details the specific features of the pneumonia of these in-patients. It was distinguished the 3 groups of hospital patients with the following characteristic features: patients with the respiratory distress syndrome of the adults; patients with the primary infective endocarditis mainly with the damage of respiratory (right) heart; patients with non-specific pneumonia. The peculiarities of the clinical process with the X-Ray pictures of the disease were also presented. The article identifies the acute beginning of the disease; the strongly pronounced intoxication syndrome; the usual cases of the late going to hospital of those patients; the extensiveness of the damage; the occurrence of the following complications at the early stage: pulmonary destruction, exudative pleurisy, empyema; the long period of the disease process; the development of the extensive pulmonary fibrosis. It was identified the 33.7% lethality for these groups of in-patients, while the average lethality of the in patients treated for pneumonia was 3.3% for the same period of time. The complicated pneumonia process of young patients with the infective endocarditis with damages of respiratory (right) hearts let us suppose their drug addiction.

RESUMO

The authors presented the results of ultrasonic investigation of 201 patients with cholelithiasis that were confirmed during surgery. Concurrent acute or chronic inflammations and hydrops of the gallbladder were found to be the commonest complications. More rare but dangerous complications were cholecystempyesis, wall destructions or paravesical abscess. Echographical symptoms of the complications mentioned were presented as well. The informative value of ultrasonic investigation turned to be rather high: the USI data coincided with operative findings in 98% of the patients.

RESUMO

The paper is concerned with the results of contrast arthrography in 73 children with hip joint dysplasia, among which true dislocations prevailed (70 patients). In addition to bone alterations, arthrography revealed various soft tissue changes like hypertrophy and deformity of limbus, soft tissue interposition, separation of the articular sac with the presence of an isthmus, disintegration of articular cartilages. These findings are used to define indications for surgical intervention as well as for planning the area of operation.

RESUMO

The paper is concerned with comparison of the results of ultrasound and x-ray investigation in 110 patients with urolithiasis. A possibility was established to diagnose roentgenonegative concrements in the kidneys and pelvicalyceal system with the help of ultrasound echography. The results of x-ray investigation were more reliable for the localization of uretero- and cystoliths. Ultrasound echography in such patients permitted the detection of complications (hydrocalycosis and hydronephrosis) as well as the assessment of the time course of complications in the postoperative period.

RESUMO

Investigation of 60 children with acute types and 45 children with latent types of larval paragonimiasis (LP) has revealed various clinical and x-ray manifestations of this disease, spread in the southern Primorski Territory. Three syndromes of this disease were singled out: toxico-allergic, abdominal and pulmonary. X-ray investigation showed characteristic LP symptoms: exudate in the pleural cavity, thickening of the wall, diaphragmatic and interlobular pleura, sometimes--pneumothorax. Pathology of the bronchopulmonary system manifested itself in focal and infiltrative shadows, enhanced and deformed lung markings, and bullous inflation. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis must be based on analysis of clinical and x-ray data and the results of serological reactions.

RESUMO

The authors presented the results of clinical and x-ray investigation of 102 patients with epidemic pseudotuberculosis (EP). The diagnosis was established on the basis of epidemiological evidence and the results of clinical and serological investigation. The affection of the digestive organs was observed not only in the abdominal type of EP but also in its other types. X-ray examination of the digestive organs revealed terminal ileitis in 56.8% of the patients alongside with functional disorders. X-ray examination plays a certain role in the differential diagnosis of EP from other diseases of the ileocecal region, in particular from acute appendicitis.

RESUMO

The clinico-radiological picture of spinal arachnoiditis and epiduritis was studied in 135 patients. The disorders were expressed in the form of radicular pain, paresthesia, hyperesthesia, pareses, paralyses and pelvic disturbances. The most informative of radiological methods were pneumomyelography, myelography with myodile, sacral and transdural epidurography. Contrast radiological examinations of the membranous spaces of the spinal cord make it possible to determine the localization, severity and nature of pathological changes. Spinal arachnoiditis and epiduritis are associated with non-filling or non-uniform filling of the membranous spaces, their narrowing and deformation, non-filling and deformation of radicular pockets. The diagnosis is made by correlating clinical, laboratory and radiological findings.

RESUMO

Under observation were 23 patients with leiomyomas of the stomach. Leiomyomas were more frequently observed in females, in the proximal segment these were as frequent as in the distal one, but more frequently in the posterior wall. Submucous endo gastric localization was typical for most leiomyomas. The possibilities of clinico-roentgenological diagnosis were studied. The clinical picture of leiomyomas of the stomach shows pains in the epigastric region, general disturbances, acute profuse gastric hemorrhages. The most typical roentgenological sign of gastric leiomyoma is an oval or round filling defect with even margins around 5-6 cm in size. Not infrequently there are one or several ulcerations on the leiomyoma surface like "a niche" of oval or semioval shape. The mucosa folds around the filling defect are moved apart but not destroyed. Some information on gastroscopic examination of 8 patients with gastric leiomyomas is reported.
