[Methods of treatment of the mammary gland cancer in its initial stage]. / Taktyka likuvannia raku molochnoï zagozi u pochatkovykh stadiiakh.

The results of treatment of 1231 women patients with the mammarial gland cancer of initial stages was analysed, in 151 of them the organ-preserving operation was performed. The results of treatment with five-year follow-up, using the organ-preserving operations do not cede to such in application of classical mastectomy.

[The treatment of edematous-infiltrative forms of breast cancer by using thermochemo- and thermoradiotherapy]. / Lechenie otechno-infil'trativnykh form raka molochnoi zhelezy s ispol'zovaniem termokhimio- i termoradioterapii.

The study included 157 patients with edematous-infiltrative breast cancer. Thermochemo- and thermoradiotherapy were shown to modify (increase) cancer cell sensitivity to antitumor treatment and thus improve tumor response.

[Radioimmunologic analysis of ferritin, carcinoembryonic antigen and prolactin for evaluating the prognosis and effectiveness of treating breast cancer]. / Radioimmunologicheskii analiz ferritina, rakogo-émbrional'nogo antigena i prolaktina dlia otsenki prognoza i éffektivnosti lecheniia raka molochnoi zhelezy.

The levels of tumor markers--CEA, ferritin and prolactin (the hormone of the anterior pituitary gland) were studied in the blood serum of 178 breast cancer patients in the menopause during combined therapy using a radioimmunoassay. This combination was shown to be informative for assessment of prognosis of disease and efficacy of antitumor therapy which was confirmed by clinical and x-ray findings and observation of a tumor process in breast cancer patients over a 5-year period.

[Possibility of using tumor markers, pituitary gonadotropic hormones and prolactin in the diagnosis of breast cancer]. / O vozmozhnosti ispol'zovaniia opukholevykh markerov, gonadotropnykh gormonov gipofiza i prolaktina v diagnostike raka molochnoi zhelezy.

The levels of gonadotropic hormones, prolactin, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and ferritin were measured in 111 females (52--cancer, 32--benign tumors and 27--healthy controls in menopause). Radioimmunologic study showed a significant increase in prolactin, CEA and ferritin levels in patients with T1-2N0M0 breast tumors.
