RESUMO

The paper discusses the frequency of recurrences and metastases of endometrial carcinoma in 246 treated cases. Recurrences and metastases were identified in 41 (16.7% +/- 2.4) patients. A relationship between said frequency, on the one hand, and tumor size, extent of invasion through the myometrium and tumor differentiation, on the other, was established.

RESUMO

The study was concerned with 5 and 10-year results of combination treatment (surgery + radiation) of 304 cases of cervical cancer. Recurrence and metastases developed in 32 patients (10.5%). The 5-year survival rate for cases with stage I tumor was 95.1% and stage II--90.5%. At 10 years, the said rates were 95.1 and 84.7%, respectively. Minimal effective dose was found to be 1,330 reu.

RESUMO

Clinical, cytologic, histologic and X-ray procedures were used in examining 120 patients with endometrial carcinoma. The results of pre- and intraoperative determination of clinical stage were compared in 65 cases of uterine extirpation with appendages and lymphadenectomy. Errors in preoperative identification of the extent of tumor expansion were made in 9 cases (13.8 +/- 4.3%). It was found that determinations of the site and expansion of tumor make the case for hystero-cervical-angiolymphography whereas identification of tumor pattern and degree of cell differentiation--for cytologic and histologic assays.

RESUMO

A complex clinico-morphological study on the effect of 17-hydroxyprogesterone-capronate was conducted in a group of 75 patients aged 27-69 (stage I-15; stage II-41; stage III-17 and stage IV-2 cases). Total dose for the whole course was 8.0-10.0. All patients underwent surgery after hormonotherapy. Uterine cavity (before and during hormonotherapy) and resected material were examined histologically and cytologically. It was shown that 17-hydroxy-progesterone-capronate is capable of antitumor effect and even complete regression is possible. Most antitumor effect was observed at the initial stages of malignant disease and in cases of well-differentiated tumor. The data obtained may be used in deciding whether 17-hydroxyprogesterone-capronate should be administered in conjunction with other measures or separately.

RESUMO

814 patients with various pathological changes in the uterine neck were subjected to the complex investigation, taking into consideration the fact that all specialists should be equally competent in their fields. Diagnostic errors were analysed in each method of investigation in relation to a histological conclusion in every series of patients. The diagnosis of preinvasive cancer proved to be most difficult. The number of errors was less in microcarcinoma. The organization of large colpocytological centres in big cities is advocated.
