[Medicolegal analysis of ARD mass cases occurred in servicemen].

The article presents the analysis of causes and outcomes of ARD and pneumonia incidence among the servicemen in one of the military units during the period 2002-2003. 95 forensic medical examinations were analyzed. The terms of disease occurrence, complications, unfavorable outcomes are presented. The defects in medical care rendering are shown. The recommendations on prophylaxis of such cases are shown.

[Expert evaluation of aftereffects of migration of catheters in the vessels during subclavian vein catheterization]. / Ekspertnaia otsenka posledstvii migratsii kateterov po sosudistomu ruslu pri kateterizatsii podkliuchichnykh ven.

Eleven cases with migration (escape) of catheters, inserted into subclavian veins, into the vascular bed, are analyzed by the results of forensic medical evaluations. Expert evaluation of aftereffects of the complications caused by flaws in medical care is made. Suggestions are made on evaluation of the severity of harm inflicted to health in such cases and the criteria of such evaluations are offered.

[Toxicomania in servicemen]. / Problema toksikomanii sredi voennosluzhashchikh.

The authors substantiate the urgency of toxicomania among the servicemen. The circumstances of toxicomania, its morphological manifestations, toxic agents used by the toxic substance addicts were analyzed using the materials of 98 observations from medicolegal practice with lethal outcome. The measures to prevent and diagnose the toxicomania are proposed.

[The forensic description of torn cerebral aneurysms]. / Sudebno-meditsinskaia kharakteristika razorvavshikhsia anevrizm golovnogo mozga.

103 studies of torn aneurysms in the cerebral vessels are described. Localizations, morphological peculiarities of aneurysms as well as the nature of intracranial hemorrhages caused by torn aneurysms are presented. The authors have a critical attitude to the "acquired" theory of aneurysm development.

[Evaluation of the severity of harm to health by gastrointestinal injury caused by blunt trauma]. / Opredelenie tiazhesti vreda zdorov'iu, prichinennogo povrezhdeniiami pishchevaritel'nogo trakta pri travme typymi predmetami.

A total of 226 forensic medical conclusions in traumas of the gastrointestinal tract with blunt objects, 111 of these with lethal outcomes, are analyzed. The types of injuries, clinical course, medical care, complications, flaws in medical care and their consequences, and pathomorphology of the injury were analyzed. Criteria of harm inflicted to health are determined and a table of qualifying signs is suggested for cases with blunt injuries of the gastrointestinal system, with consideration for the type of injury.

Fifty-one conclusions of forensic expert medical committees on criminal and civil cases instituted against private medical institutions and physicians are analyzed. Sixteen expert evaluations concerned dental care, 15 were on cosmetic operations, etc. Flaws in medical care, their causes and consequences are analyzed. Tentative expert evaluation of similar cases is made.

A total of 277 forensic expert medical conclusions on cases with closed heart injury are analyzed. The morphology and mechanisms of formation of heart injuries in various traumas are discussed.

[Forensic medical diagnosis of asymptomatic gastrointestinal disease]. / Sudebno-meditsinskaia diagnostika bessimptomno protekaiushchei patologii pishchevaritel'nogo trakta.

Twelve cases with congenital and acquired gastrointestinal diseases from expert practice are analyzed. The disease ran asymptomatically during life and eventuated in death. Potentialities of forensic medical diagnosis for such cases are demonstrated.
