RESUMO
The study was conducted on experimental models of pain sense induced in mice by exposure to thermic or chemical factors and in rats by exposure to electric factors. Nitrosorbide and no-spa possess a dose-dependent analgesic effect. Both drugs excelled analgin in the intensity and duration of analgesic effect.

The antiarrhythmic activity of quinasopirine was studied in the experiments on rats with the use of models of calcium chloride- and aconitine-induced arrhythmias, disorders of cardiac rhythm in myocardial infarction produced by isadrine and pituitrin and also in the experiments on cats in arrhythmias caused by electric stimulation of the myocardium, postinfarction and reperfusion arrhythmias. Quinasopirine exhibits the antiarrhythmic effect being superior to that of anapriline and novocainamide in arrhythmias induced by calcium chloride and aconitine. In other types of the cardiac rhythm disorder its activity is comparable with that of ethmosine, obsidane and cordarone. Quinasopirine reduces automatism and contractile function of the myocardium.

Effects of vagus stimulation and cutting on the tolerance of heart ventricles to fibrillation in cats have been studied. The parasympathetic effects increased the tolerance of heart ventricles to fibrillation while sympathetic ones--decreased it.

Benzofurocaine similarly to ortophen (voltaren) causes dose-dependent suppression of acute inflammatory reactions induced in rats by carragheenin, serotonin and histamine, protects animals from absolutely lethal dose of cellulose sulphate. When administered in a dose of 0.79 X 10(-3) M, benzofurocaine exerts no effect on the activity of prostaglandin synthetase.

Electrocardiography and tetrapolar rheoplethysmography of the finger have demonstrated that voltaren and 5-NK activity produce an adverse action on the coronary blood flow in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. It has been found possible to correct the induced disorders by cordarone.

Experiments on intact cats were made to study the effect of intravenous injection of voltaren (4 mg/kg) and intraventricular injection of indomethacin (4 mg/kg), ibuprophen (5 mg/kg), and butadion (22 mg/kg) on the coronary circulation and oxygen consumption by the myocardium. Indomethacin and butadion decreased the volumetric velocity of the coronary circulation and to a lesser degree oxygen consumption by the myocardium in all the experiments, whereas voltaren in 8 of 15 experiments. Ibuprophen and voltaren (in part of experiments) led to an increase in the coronary circulation and to greater oxygen utilization by the myocardium.

The authors studied the antiarrhythmic and antifibrillatory effects of the known antiarrhythmic agents and the new Soviet coronaroactive drug phenicaberan exhibiting an antiarrhythmic action. All the drugs were examined for side effects and the action on the central and intracardiac hemodynamics in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Recommendations have been given as to the choice of effective drugs for the prophylaxis of arrhythmias depending on the pattern of heart rhythm abnormality and the hemodynamics.

In an experimental study on cats, cordaron administered in a dose of 5 mg/kg significantly increased ventricular fibrillation threshold. Used in a concentration of 1.5 x 10(-6) g/ml, the drug prevented ventricular fibrillation in an isolated heart which had been caused by reduced content of potassium ions and increased content of calcium ions in the perfusate. This action may be due to its influence on myocardial ion transport.

Compounds that possess long-term anesthetic effect have been found among phenylethylamine derivatives substituted by O-alkyl (position 4) or O-benzyl (positions 2, 3 and 4) radicals. It was shown that these compounds compare very favourably with novocain, since their anesthetic effect exceeds 54.8 - 66.9-fold that produced by novocain. Such an effect is a consequence of neurolytic properties of the compounds synthesized.

Effect of lidocain, quinidine, ethmozine, cordaron and obsidan on the ventricular fibrillation threshold was studied in experiments on cats with an opened thorax under nembutal anesthesia. The experiments were carried out on normal animals and animals with acute myocardial infarction exposed to isadrin. Lidocain exerted the most pronounced antifibrillar action in all 3 series of experiments. Ethmozine was most active in animals exposed to isadrin.

DL50 of intraperitoneal lithium oxybutyrate administered to cats was found to amount to 724 mg/kg, while in doses of 13.5--360 mg/kg it increases the coronary blood flow volume in cats by 20.3--122.2 per cent, directly proportional to the dose. Lithium oxybutyrate prevents the chlorocalcium arrhythmia in rats and eliminates strophanthine-induced anemia in cats, surpassing an analogous effect of lithium chloride, potassium chloride, quinidine, novocainamide and isoptin. It raises the activity of the succinate dehydrogenase in the myocardium and weakens the ability of calcium chloride to reduce the glycogen content in the conduction system of the heart in rats.

Used in a dose of 100 mg/kg lithium chloride modifies the ECG patterns in rats, rabbits and cats. It increases the voltage of P and R waves, the S-T interval and slows down the rhythm of cardiac contractions. In doses of 50-300 mg/kg the compound raises the coronary circulation rate in narcotized cats. The compound exerts an antiarrhythmic action in chlorocalcium arrhythmia in rats, in strophanthin-induced one in cats and frogs and the intensity of this action is not inferior to that produced by potassium chloride, quinidine, novacainamide, izoptin and even exceeds it.

The toxicity of radioprotective and some pharmacological properties of 33 compounds, phenylethylamine derivatives, substituted in the phenyl ring were studied. Some of these display radioprotective and curative properties and also produce anesthetizing, coronary dilating, antiarrhythmic and other effects.
