RESUMO

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive (HER2+) breast cancer (BC) tends to metastasize and has a bad prognosis due to its high malignancy and rapid progression. Inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase isoenzymes type II (INPP4B) plays unequal roles in the development of various cancers. However, the function of INPP4B in HER2+ BC has not been elucidated. Here we found that INPP4B expression was significantly lower in HER2+ BC and positively correlated with the prognosis by bioinformatics and tissue immunofluorescence analyses. Overexpression of INPP4B inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and growth of xenografts in HER2+ BC cells. Conversely, depletion of INPP4B reversed these effects and activated the PDK1/AKT and Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathways to promote epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) progression. Moreover, INPP4B overexpression blocked epidermal growth factor (EGF) -induced cell proliferation, migration and EMT progression, whereas INPP4B depletion antagonized HER2 depletion in reduction of cell proliferation and migration of HER2+ BC cells. Additionally, Lapatinib (LAP) inhibited HER2+ BC cell survival, proliferation and migration, and its effect was further enhanced by overexpression of INPP4B. In summary, our results illustrate that INPP4B suppresses HER2+ BC growth, migration and EMT, and its expression level affects patient outcome, further providing new insights into clinical practice.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease, with a rapidly evolving body of literature on disease-modifying therapy (DMT) that urgently needs to be synthesized and regularized. Methods: The original material used for the analysis was obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) in the Science Citation Index Expanded Edition (SCI-E). The data material was accessed through VOSviewer, Citespace, R package "Bibliometrix", and Scimago Graphica for data analysis and visualization. Among them, the clustering algorithm based on the Largest Likelihood Ratio (LLR) and the burst citation algorithm is the key. Results: As of November 6th, 2022, 4142 publications related to emerging disease-modifying therapies (e-DMT) for MS, 6521 publications related to traditional disease-modifying therapies (t-DMT) for MS, and 1793 publications in cross-cutting disease-modifying therapies (I-DMT) for MS were included in the analysis, respectively. Publications related to DMT in MS were analyzed descriptively (for three subjects: country, institution, and author) and predictively (for two subjects: keywords and references) separately according to three sections: e-DMT, t-DMT, and I-DMT. Topics that still have relevant reference output as of 2022 include the safety of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mRNA vaccination, therapeutic inertia (TI), cladribine tablets, autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT), progressive multiple sclerosis, and pediatric multiple sclerosis. Conclusion: The future research focus for MS DMT is the combination trial or cross-trial of various treatment methods to improve the development of individualized treatment plans for MS patients. The exact contents of the research frontiers are included but not limited to ocrelizumab, fingolimod and other monoclonal antibodies, fumaric acid ester, cladribine tablet, aHSCT, and other interventions of randomized controlled trials (RCTs); the impact of mRNA COVID-19 vaccination on MS patients; TI, patient adherence, and other medical management issues; and continued exploration of biomarkers for more accurate disease classification based on the existing clinical indication classification.

Dietary Macleaya cordata extract (MCE) can improve the meat quality of poultry. However, the specific mechanism by which MCE regulates the meat quality has not been clarified yet. Sanguinarine (SAN) is one of the important natural active components in MCE. Our study aims to explore the regulatory mechanism of dietary SAN supplementation on meat quality through transcriptomic and gut microbiome analysis, thereby providing a basis for regularing meat quality with MCE. 240 1-day-old broilers were divided into 4 groups according to different doses of SAN (0, 0.225, 0.75, and 2.25 mg/kg). The results indicated that SAN significantly improve the physicochemical quality indicators of breast and thigh muscle in broilers, improved the serum biochemical indexes. Through transcriptome sequencing analysis of the liver and ileum tissues of broilers, we found that the differentially expressed genes induced by SAN were mainly enriched in lipid metabolism, which were related to the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) pathway. It reconfirmed that SAN can regulate lipid metabolism in the body by promoting the expression of genes related to cholesterol metabolism, fatty acid transport and oxidation by RT-PCR, this ultimately affects the physicochemical quality of muscle. Additionally, through 16S rRNA sequencing analysis, we found that dietary addition of SAN increased the relative abundance of Bacteroides, Lactobacillus and unclassified_f_Lachnospiraceae, while decreased the relative abundance of Alistipes in ceca. To further investigate the impact of gut microbiota on lipid metabolism, we conducted a correlation analysis of PPAR pathway factor expression in cecum tissue and microflora structure. The results showed that Bacteroides exhibited a positive correlation with the expression of most genes in the PPAR signaling pathway. Unclassified_f__Lachnospiraceae is positively correlated with PPARγ, Cytochrome P450 family 7 subfamily A member 1 (CYP7A1) and Acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 5 (ACSL5). In conclusion, dietary addition of SAN can promote the genes expression of the PPAR pathway, target the regulation of intestinal microflora structure and abundance and regulate lipid metabolism, thereby improving meat quality of broilers.

The causal link between long terminal repeat (LTR) retrotransposon-derived lncRNAs and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains elusive and whether these cancer-exclusive lncRNAs contribute to the effectiveness of current HCC therapies is yet to explore. Here, we investigated the activation of LTR retrotransposon-derived lncRNAs in a broad range of liver diseases. We found that LTR retrotransposon-derived lncRNAs are mainly activated in HCC and is correlated with the proliferation status of HCC. Furthermore, we discovered that an LTR retrotransposon-derived lncRNA, LINC01446, exhibits specific expression in HCC. HCC patients with higher LINC01446 expression had shorter overall survival times. In vitro and in vivo assays showed that LINC01446 promoted HCC growth and angiogenesis. Mechanistically, LINC01446 bound to serine/arginine protein kinase 2 (SRPK2) and activated its downstream target, serine/arginine splicing factor 1 (SRSF1). Furthermore, activation of the SRPK2-SRSF1 axis increased the splicing and expression of VEGF isoform A165 (VEGFA165). Notably, inhibiting LINC01446 expression dramatically impaired tumor growth in vivo and resulted in better therapeutic outcomes when combined with antiangiogenic agents. In addition, we found that the transcription factor MESI2 bound to the cryptic MLT2B3 LTR promoter and drove LINC01446 transcription in HCC cells. Taken together, our findings demonstrate that LTR retrotransposon-derived LINC01446 promotes the progression of HCC by activating the SRPK2/SRSF1/VEGFA165 axis and highlight targeting LINC01446 as a potential therapeutic strategy for HCC patients.

Membrane materials that resist nonspecific or specific adsorption are urgently required in widespread applications. In water purification, inevitable membrane fouling not only limits separation performance, but also remarkably increases operation requirements, and augments extra maintenance costs and higher energy consumption. In this work, we report a freestanding interfacial polymerization (IP) fabrication strategy for in-situ creation of asymmetric block copolymer (BCP) nanofilms with antifouling properties, greatly outperforming the conventional surface post-modification approaches. The resultant asymmetric BCP nanofilms with highly-dense, highly-hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) brushes, can be readily formed via a typical IP process of a double-hydrophilic BCP composed of an antifouling PEG block and a membrane-forming multiamine block. The asymmetric BCP nanofilms have been applied for efficient and sustainable natural water purification, demonstrating extraordinary antifouling capabilities accompanied with superior separation performance far beyond commercial polyamide nanofiltration membranes. The antifouling behaviors of BCP nanofilms derived from the combined effect of the hydration layer, electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance were further elucidated by water flux and fouling resistance in combination with all-atom molecular dynamics simulation. This work opens up a new avenue for large-scale and low-cost creation of broad-spectrum, asymmetric membrane materials with diverse functional "defect-free" surfaces in real-world applications.

This study aims to develop a CT-based hybrid deep learning network to predict pathological subtypes of early-stage lung adenocarcinoma by integrating residual network (ResNet) with Vision Transformer (ViT). A total of 1411 pathologically confirmed ground-glass nodules (GGNs) retrospectively collected from two centers were used as internal and external validation sets for model development. 3D ResNet and ViT were applied to investigate two deep learning frameworks to classify three subtypes of lung adenocarcinoma namely invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC), minimally invasive adenocarcinoma and adenocarcinoma in situ, respectively. To further improve the model performance, four Res-TransNet based models were proposed by integrating ResNet and ViT with different ensemble learning strategies. Two classification tasks involving predicting IAC from Non-IAC (Task1) and classifying three subtypes (Task2) were designed and conducted in this study. For Task 1, the optimal Res-TransNet model yielded area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) values of 0.986 and 0.933 on internal and external validation sets, which were significantly higher than that of ResNet and ViT models (p < 0.05). For Task 2, the optimal fusion model generated the accuracy and weighted F1 score of 68.3% and 66.1% on the external validation set. The experimental results demonstrate that Res-TransNet can significantly increase the classification performance compared with the two basic models and have the potential to assist radiologists in precision diagnosis.

Previous study has highlighted an association between cannabis use (CU) and an increased risk of erectile dysfunction (ED), potentially due to indirect effects on sex hormonal balance. However, the evidence remains controversial, and the causal relationship is unclear. This study utilized genome-wide association study (GWAS) data to investigate the causal relationships between cannabis use disorder (CUD), lifetime cannabis use (LCU), and ED, as well as levels of sex hormones including estradiol (E2), bioavailable testosterone (BT), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) through Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. The primary method of analysis was the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method. Data from the FinnGen and UK Biobank were used for replication and meta-analysis. The results indicated no causal relationship between genetically predicted CUD (OR = 0.97, 95% CI 0.87-1.10, P = 0.66) and LCU (OR = 1.13, 95% CI 0.84-1.50, P = 0.42) with the risk of ED. The meta-analysis provided consistent evidence (P > 0.05). No causal relationships were found between CUD and LCU with E2(CUD: ß = 0.00, 95% CI 0.00-0.01, P = 0.37; LCU: ß = 0.00, 95% CI -0.02-0.01, P = 0.62), BT (CUD: ß = 0.00, 95% CI -0.03-0.02, P = 0.90; LCU: ß = 0.02, 95% CI -0.04-0.09, P = 0.46), FSH (CUD: ß = 0.01, 95% CI -0.18-0.20, P = 0.92; LCU: ß = 0.01, 95% CI -0.44-0.47, P = 0.95), and LH (CUD: ß = 0.01, 95% CI -0.18-0.21, P = 0.90; LCU: ß = 0.13, 95% CI -0.22-0.49, P = 0.46). Sensitivity analyses detected no evidence of horizontal pleiotropy or heterogeneity, ensuring the robustness of the results. In conclusion, this MR analysis did not provide evidence supporting a causal relationship between CU and ED or sex hormone levels.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity of a SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine (Omicron BA.5) LVRNA012 given as the booster in immunized but SARS-CoV-2 infection-free adults in China. Methods: This is a single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 3 clinical trial enrolling healthy adult participants (≥18 years) who had completed two or three doses of inactivated COVID-19 vaccines at least 6 months before, in Bengbu, Anhui province, China. Eligible participants were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive a booster intramuscular vaccination with an LVRNA012 vaccine (100ug) or placebo. The primary endpoint was the protective efficacy of a booster dose of the LVRNA012 vaccine or placebo against symptomatic COVID-19 of any severity 14 days after vaccination. Laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infections were identified from 14 days to 180 days after intervention, with active surveillance for symptomatic illness 8 times per month between 7 to 90 days and at least once per month between 90 to 180 days after intervention. Results: 2615 participants were recruited and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either the vaccine group (1308) or the placebo group (1307). A total of 141 individuals (46 in the LVRNA012 group and 95 in the placebo group) developed symptomatic COVID-19 infection 14 days after the booster immunization, showing a vaccine efficacy of 51.9% (95% CI, 31.3% to 66.4%). Most infections were detected 90 days after intervention during a period when XBB was prevalent in the community. Adverse reactions were reported by 64% of participants after the LVRNA012 vaccination, but most of them were mild or moderate. The booster vaccination with the LVRNA012 mRNA vaccine could significantly enhance neutralizing antibody titers against the Omicron variant XBB.1.5 (GMT 132.3 [99.8, 175.4]) than did those in the placebo group (GMT 12.5 [8.4, 18.7]) at day 14 for the previously immunized individuals. Conclusion: The LVRNA012 mRNA vaccine is immunogenic, and shows robust efficacy in preventing COVID-19 during the omicron-predominate period. Introduction: To characterize the influence of female-specific hormones on women's thyroid function, the study investigated the influence of extra progestin from oral contraceptives on inducing thyroid dysfunction. Methods: Sixty female Wistar rats were divided into six groups based on levonorgestrel or desogestrel administration as the main active agents: control, low (0.0039 mg*20-fold), medium (0.0039 mg*100-fold), high (0.0318 mg*100-fold) levonorgestrel (pure product); and low (0.0083 mg*20-fold) and high (0.0083 mg*100-fold) desogestrel (pure product). Progestin was administered by gavage every 4 days for 1 month. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way analysis of variance and the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Following levonorgestrel gavage, serum free T4 and thyroidstimulating hormone levels were significantly lower in the experimental group than that in the control group (p=0.013 and 0.043). After desogestrel gavage, the serum free T4 and free T3 levels were lower in the experimental group than that in the control group (p=0.019 and 0.030). Thyroid hormone antibody concentrations were lower in rats administered levonorgestrel and desogestrel than that in control rats. Moreover, exposure to progestin upregulated the expression of the thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor and sodium iodide symporter in thyroid. Discussion: Progestin stimulation enhanced the proliferation of follicular epithelial cells in rat thyroid tissues. Progestin exposure could cause thyroid dysfunction by upregulating the transcription of thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor and sodium iodide symporter in thyroid, thus inducing pathomorphological changes in rats' thyroid.

A facultatively anaerobic, Gram-negative, curved rod-shaped bacterium (4.0-17.0 µm long, 0.6-0.9 µm wide), designated Z1-6T, was obtained from tidal flat sediment collected from YueAo village in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, People's Republic of China. Strain Z1-6T occurred at 15-45 °C (optimum 28-32 °C), pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum 7.0-7.5), and in the presence of 1-5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 1-2%). The strain contained iso-C15:0 and antesio-C15:0 as the major fatty acids. An unsaturated menaquinone with seven isoprene units (MK-7) was the predominant respiratory quinone. The polar lipids included phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), one aminophospholipid (APL), two phospholipids (PL1 and PL2), three glycolipids (GL1, GL2, and GL3), and two unidentified lipids (L1 and L2). The genomic DNA G+C content of strain Z1-6T was 39.2%, and the genome size was 6.4 Mb. The strain showed the highest average nucleotide identity (ANI) value of 73.5-74.6%, digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) value of 19.3-20%, average amino acid identity (AAI) value of 72.0-73.1% with the members of genus Draconibacterium. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences and genome revealed that strain Z1-6T formed a distinct branch in the clade of the genus Draconibacterium. Based on the phenotypic, phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic analyses and genomic data, strain Z1-6T represents a novel species of the genus Draconibacterium, for which the name Draconibacterium aestuarii sp. nov. (The type strain Z1-6T = MCCC 1K07533T = KCTC 92310T) is proposed.

Various environmental stresses induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which have deleterious effects on plant cells. Glutathione (GSH) is an antioxidant used to counteract reactive oxygen species. Glutathione is produced by glutamylcysteine synthetase (GCS) and glutathione synthetase (GS). However, evidence for the GCS gene in sweetpotato remains scarce. In this study, the full-length cDNA sequence of IbGCS isolated from sweetpotato cultivar Xu18 was 1566 bp in length, which encodes 521 amino acids. The qRT-PCR analysis revealed a significantly higher expression of the IbGCS in sweetpotato flowers, and the gene was induced by salinity, abscisic acid (ABA), drought, extreme temperature and heavy metal stresses. The seed germination rate, root elongation and fresh weight were promoted in T3 Arabidopsis IbGCS-overexpressing lines (OEs) in contrast to wild type (WT) plants under mannitol and salt stresses. In addition, the soil drought and salt stress experiment results indicated that IbGCS overexpression in Arabidopsis reduced the malondialdehyde (MDA) content, enhanced the levels of GCS activity, GSH and AsA content, and antioxidant enzyme activity. In summary, overexpressing IbGCS in Arabidopsis showed improved salt and drought tolerance.

Both pandemic and seasonal influenza are major health concerns, causing significant mortality and morbidity. Current influenza drugs primarily target viral neuraminidase and RNA polymerase, which are prone to drug resistance. Polyoxometalates (POMs) are metal cation clusters bridged by oxide anions. They have exhibited potent anti-tumor, antiviral, and antibacterial effects. They have remarkable activity against various DNA and RNA viruses, including human immunodeficiency virus, herpes simplex virus, hepatitis B and C viruses, dengue virus, and influenza virus. In this study, we have identified sodium polyoxotungstate (POM-1) from an ion channel inhibitor library. In vitro, POM-1 has been demonstrated to have potent antiviral activity against H1N1, H3N2, and oseltamivir-resistant H1N1 strains. POM-1 can cause virion aggregation during adsorption, as well as endocytosis. However, the aggregation is reversible; it does not interfere with virus adsorption and endocytosis. Our results suggest that POM-1 exerts its antiviral activity by inhibiting the nuclear import of viral ribonucleoprotein (vRNP). This distinct mechanism of action, combined with its wide range of efficacy, positions POM-1 as a promising therapeutic candidate for influenza treatment and warrants further investigation.

Therapeutic antibodies are a major class of biopharmaceutics that are applied in disease treatment because of their many advantages, including high specificity and high affinity to molecular targets. Between their production and administration, therapeutic antibodies are exposed to multiple stress conditions. Forced degradation and stress stability studies are conducted to simulate the risk of degradation and the effects of these stresses, thereby enhancing understanding of the drug product to support strategies to mitigate the impact from stressed conditions. These types of studies are also routinely conducted to evaluate product comparability when major process changes are implemented during the production. Charge variant analysis helps understand the changes in the electrostatic environment of biotherapeutics and can uncover underlying molecular level alterations associated with charge variants. Herein, we used ZipChip native capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (nCE-MS) to elucidate the changes in charge variant profiles at the molecular level. In two case studies under thermal stress conditions, we observed that charge variants arose from both post-translational modifications (including deamidation, oxidation, and pyroglutamate formation) and sequence truncations at the hinge regions. Under oxidative stress conditions, oxidation was found to be the major contributor to the changes in the charge variant profiles. Under pH stress conditions, the changes in the charge variant profile were due to increased levels of deamidation, oxidation, and pyroglutamate formation. ZipChip nCE-MS analysis enables identification of charge variant species under various stress conditions, thus supporting process and formulation development of biotherapeutics.

BACKGROUND: Previous research has emphasized the potential benefits of anti-diabetic medications in inhibiting the exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), yet the role of anti-diabetic drugs on COPD risk remains uncertain. METHODS: This study employed a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to evaluate the causal association of genetic variations related to six classes of anti-diabetic drug targets with COPD. The primary outcome for COPD was obtained from the Global Biobank Meta-analysis Initiative (GBMI) consortium, encompassing a meta-analysis of 12 cohorts with 81,568 cases and 1,310,798 controls. Summary-level data for HbA1c was derived from the UK Biobank, involving 344,182 individuals. Positive control analysis was conducted for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) to validate the choice of instrumental variables. The study applied Summary-data-based MR (SMR) and two-sample MR for effect estimation and further adopted colocalization analysis to verify evidence of genetic variations. RESULTS: SMR analysis revealed that elevated KCNJ11 gene expression levels in blood correlated with reduced COPD risk (OR = 0.87, 95% CI = 0.79-0.95; p = 0.002), whereas an increase in DPP4 expression corresponded with an increased COPD incidence (OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 1.03-1.35; p = 0.022). Additionally, the primary method within MR analysis demonstrated a positive correlation between PPARG-mediated HbA1c and both FEV1 (OR = 1.07, 95% CI = 1.02-1.13; P = 0.013) and FEV1/FVC (OR = 1.08, 95% CI = 1.01-1.14; P = 0.007), and a negative association between SLC5A2-mediated HbA1c and FEV1/FVC (OR = 0.86, 95% CI = 0.74-1.00; P = 0.045). No colocalization evidence with outcome phenotypes was detected (all PP.H4 < 0.7). CONCLUSION: This study provides suggestive evidence for anti-diabetic medications' role in improving COPD and lung function. Further updated MR analyses are warranted in the future, following the acquisition of more extensive and comprehensive data, to validate our results.

Indoxacarb has been widely utilized in agricultural pest management, posing a significant ecological threat to Bombyx mori, a non-target economic insect. In the present study, short-term exposure to low concentration of indoxacarb significantly suppressed the oxidative phosphorylation pathway, and resulted in an accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the midgut of B. mori. While, the ATP content exhibited a declining trend but there was no significant change. Moreover, indoxacarb also significantly altered the transcription levels of six autophagy-related genes, and the transcription levels of ATG2, ATG8 and ATG9 were significantly up-regulated by 2.56-, 1.90-, and 3.36-fold, respectively. The protein levels of ATG8-I and ATG8-II and MDC-stained frozen sections further suggested an increase in autophagy. Furthermore, the protein level and enzyme activity of CASP4 showed a significant increase in accordance with the transcription levels of apoptosis-related genes, indicating the activation of the apoptotic signaling pathway. Meanwhile, the induction of apoptosis signals in the midgut cells triggered by indoxacarb was confirmed through TUNEL staining. These findings suggest that indoxacarb can promote the accumulation of ROS by inhibiting the oxidative phosphorylation pathway, thereby inducing autophagy and apoptosis in the midgut cells of B. mori.

Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that autoimmune diseases are closely associated with bronchiectasis (BE). However, the causal effects between autoimmune diseases and BE remain elusive. Methods: All summary-level data were obtained from large-scale Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS). The univariate Mendelian randomization (UVMR) was utilized to investigate the genetic causal correlation (rg) of 12 autoimmune diseases and bronchiectasis, The Multivariable Mendelian Randomization (MVMR) method was used to explore the effects of the confounding factors. Further investigation was conducted to identify potential intermediate factors using mediation analysis. Finally, the linkage disequilibrium score regression (LDSC) method was used to identify genetic correlations among complex traits. A series of sensitivity analyses was performed to validate the robustness of the results. Results: The LDSC analysis revealed significant genetic correlations between BE and Crohn's disease (CD) (rg = 0.220, P = 0.037), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) (rg = 0.210, P = 0.021), and ulcerative colitis (UC) (rg = 0.247, P = 0.023). However, no genetic correlation was found with other autoimmune diseases (P > 0.05). The results of the primary IVW analysis suggested that for every SD increase in RA, there was a 10.3% increase in the incidence of BE (odds ratio [OR] = 1.103, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.055-1.154, P = 1.75×10-5, FDR = 5.25×10-5). Furthermore, for every standard deviation (SD) increase in celiac disease (CeD), the incidence of BE reduced by 5.1% (OR = 0.949, 95% CI 0.902-0.999, P = 0.044, FDR = 0.044). We also observed suggestive evidence corresponding to a 3% increase in BE incidence with T1DM (OR = 1.033, 95% CI 1.001-1.066, P = 0.042, FDR = 0.063). Furthermore, MVMR analysis showed that RA was an independent risk factor for BE, whereas mediator MR analysis did not identify any mediating factors. The sensitivity analyses corroborated the robustness of these findings. Conclusion: LDSC analysis revealed significant genetic correlations between several autoimmune diseases and BE, and further MVMR analysis showed that RA is an independent risk factor for BE.

A Gram-stain-negative bacterium with a rod-to-ovoid shape, named strain M216T, was isolated from sand sediment from the coastal intertidal zone of Huludao, Liaoning Province, China. Growth was observed at 8-40 °C (optimal, 30 °C), pH 5.5-9.5 (optimal, pH 6.5) and 0.5-14.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimal, 6%). Strain M216T possessed ubiquinone-9 as its sole respiratory quinone and phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, one unidentified aminophosphoglycolipid, one unidentified aminophospholipid, two unidentified phosphoglycolipids, three unidentified phospholipids and three unidentified glycolipids as the main polar lipids. C12:0, C16:0, C12:0 3-OH, C16:1 ω9c, C18:1 ω9c and summed features 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c) were the major fatty acids (> 5%). The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain M216T exhibited high similarity to those of 'Marinobacter arenosus' CAU 1620T and Marinobacter adhaerens HP15T (99.3% and 98.5%, respectively) and less than 98.5% similarity to those of the other type strains. The ANI and dDDH values between the strain M216T and 'Marinobacter arenosus' CAU 1620T were 87.4% and 33.3%, respectively; these values were the highest among the other type strains but lower than the species threshold. The G+C content of strain M216T was 58.3%. Genomic analysis revealed that strain M216T harbors the major CAZymes of GH13, GH23, GH73, and PL5, which are responsible for polysaccharide degradation and the potential ability to reduce nitrate to ammonia. Through phenotypic, genotypic, and chemotaxonomic analyses, we proposed the name Marinobacter albus sp. nov., a novel species in the genus Marinobacter, with its type strain M216T (= MCCC 1K08600T = KCTC 82894T).

BACKGROUND: New nurses are prone to workplace deviant behavior in the constrained hospital environment, which will not only directly affect the safety of patients, but also reduce the work efficiency of nurses and bring negative results to the hospital. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived organizational justice, emotional labor, psychological capital, and workplace deviant behavior of new nurses. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was used in this study. A survey was conducted in 5 hospitals in Henan Province, Chain from February to April 2023. The sample size was 546. The questionnaire included general information, perceived organizational justice scale, emotional labor scale, psychological capital scale, and workplace deviant behavior scale. SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS Macro were used for data analysis. PROCESS Model 4 and Model 14 were used to verify the model. RESULTS: This study displays that perceived organizational justice was negatively correlated with emotional labor and workplace deviant behavior, and emotional labor was positively correlated with workplace deviant behavior. Meanwhile, emotional labor plays a partial mediating role between perceived organizational justice and workplace deviant behavior, accounting for 32.7% of the total effect. Moreover, the path of emotional labor on workplace deviant behavior is moderated by psychological capital. CONCLUSION: This study further understood the workplace deviant behavior of new nurses, and provided a new perspective for solving this problem. Nurse managers can reduce workplace deviant behavior by enhancing the perceived organizational justice and psychological capital of new nurses and improving emotional labor.
