RESUMO
A design modification of the tooth preparation and framework design is presented to further enhance stabilization of mobile teeth with resin-bonded splints. An appropriate shade of composite resin is placed to restore an esthetic contour, cover the incisal edge framework extensions, and provide occlusal function as indicated. Patient reviews are presented to demonstrate the principles of treatment, versatility, and limitations of this treatment modality.

Traumatic injuries in the permanent teeth of children and adolescents are one of the most frequent causes of dental treatment. The article presents the use of an enamel and dentin adhesive resin system, Syntac, and resin composite materials, Tetric and Variolink, as materials of choice for direct pulp capping after traumatic pulpal exposure (Ellis Class III). Exposed pulp in 10 patients was covered with Syntac and then Tetric and Variolink after etching of dental tissues with phosphoric acid. The follow-up period was from 12 to 48 months. In 1 patient, the treatment was a failure. In the remaining 9 patients, no signs or symptoms of pulpal inflammation or necrosis were observed during the clinical examination.

The fusion strength was compared of the main metal alloys (Wiron 88, Wironit, Spal, Super Fluid) to the enamel by means of the ABC cement (Vivadent) and the preparation Evicrol (Spofa Dental). The obtained samples of metal alloys were subjected to abrasive blasting processing, defatted, and covered with the preparation "metal primer" from the ABC set, and fused to the pickled enamel with ABC cement and Evicrol preparation. The strength of the fusion was tested with the Instrom testing device. The fusion strength was greater in the case of Evicrol.
