RESUMO

Shape-controlled synthesis is an effective method for controlling the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials, especially single-crystal nanomaterials, but it is difficult to control the morphology of single-crystal metallic nanomaterials. Silver nanowires (AgNWs) are regarded as key materials for the new generation of human-computer interaction, which can be applied in large-scale flexible and foldable devices, large-size touch screens, transparent LED films, photovoltaic cells, etc. When used on a large scale, the junction resistance will be generated at the overlap between AgNWs and the conductivity will decrease. When stretched, the overlap of AgNWs will be easily disconnected, which will lead to a decrease in electrical conductivity or even system failure. We propose that in situ silver nanonets (AgNNs) can solve the above two problems. The AgNNs exhibited excellent electrical conductivity (0.15 Ω∙sq-1, which was 0.2 Ω∙sq-1 lower than the 0.35 Ω∙sq-1 square resistance of AgNWs) and extensibility (the theoretical tensile rate was 53%). In addition to applications in flexible stretchable sensing and display industries, they also have the potential to be used as plasmonic materials in molecular recognition, catalysis, biomedicine and other fields.

Pancreatic ß-cells apoptosis and dysfunction induced by glucose toxicity were attributed to the formation of excess oxidative damage. Some studies have found that hydroxysafflor yellow A has strong effects to scavenge oxidative stress and inhibit apoptosis. In order to explore the influence of HSYA on oxidative stress induced by high glucose and the potential mechanisms, we set up a high glucose damage model and induced oxidative stress in INS-1 rat insulinoma cells. N-acetylcysteine was added as a group of oxidative stress scavenger. After 72 h of cultivation, the related indexes of oxidative stress (reactive oxygen species, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, lipid peroxidation, and superoxide dismutase), apoptosis (caspase3, parp) and the function of glucose stimulated insulin secretion were determined. In addition, the signaling pathway proteins of C-Jun NH2 -terminal kinases (JNK), phosphorylated JNK, C-jun, phosphorylated C-jun were evaluated. Fluorescence microscopy, qRT-PCR, western blotting were the main methods used in the experiment. Our results showed that hydroxysafflor yellow A reduced pancreatic ß-cells apoptosis by attenuating oxidative damage, and JNK/c-Jun signaling pathway was involved. It indicated a significant mechanism for the positive impacts of HSYA on oxidative stress induced by high glucose, and provide important basis for using HSYA in diabetic prevention and therapy.

The aim of this study was to explore and evaluate biotubes consisting of autologous tissues. The biotubes were prepared by intra-abdominally embedding silicon rods as moulds. The specimens were analyzed by mechanical tests, histological observation and superficial study. The intra-abdominal implantation of the silicone tubes readily stimulated the development of the biotubes. The biotubes consisted of collagen-rich extracellular matrices. Myofibroblasts appeared as elongated cells with circumferential or longitudinal orientations. Subsequent to one month of embedding, the thickness of the tube wall was 70-250 µm. The burst strength was 1100±187 mmHg and the suturability was excellent. Biotubes that have the ability to be widely variable in their shapes are composed of autologous cells and glomerular extracellular matrices. Biotubes are ideal grafts for tissue engineering as they are able to avoid immunological rejection and are of sufficient mechanical strength.
