RESUMO

Case histories of 900 patients suffering from cerebrovascular diseases were analyzed. In 25 of them (2.8%) the disease got complicated with epileptic seizures. In 142 albino rats over 2 years of the age, both "sensitive" and "insensitive" to acoustic stimuli experimental atherosclerosis was induced by their long-time (for 3 to 5 months) keeping on Wilgram's atherogenic diet. As a result of the experiment it has been found that the atherogenic diet was conducive to development of hypercholesterolemia and depression of the blood anticoagulation system. As early as a month after the beginning of the diet application substantial shifts in the function of the central nervous system set in. These shifts were characterized by a shortening of the latent period of the reaction and the seizure and an intensification of the latter. The atherogenic diet led to development of audiogenic seizures in rats formerly insensitive to acoustic stimuli. Transfer of the animals to a cholesterol-free ration resulted in normalization of the blood anticoagulation system in 2 to 3 months. Within the same period the basic indices of the audiogenic reaction got normal, and the intensity of the epileptic seizures decreased.

RESUMO

Experiments conducted with adult rats kept on an therogenic diet for 30 and 45 days demonstrated that with depressed function of the anticoagulation system and developing prethrombotic state of the organism there occur changes in the spectrum of the animals blood serum lipoproteids, namely--an increase of the pre-beta-lipoproteids fraction, the appearance of the chylomicrones fraction and a fall-off of the alpha-lipoproteids fraction. The total content of atherogenic lipoproteids (beta- and pre-beta-lipoproteids) rises by as much as 2-4 times. The depression of the anticoagulation function stemming from alimentary lipemia comes as a menace of forthcoming intravascular thrombogenesis.

RESUMO

Thrombine-I131 infusion to animals receiving Linethol with vitamin A in the presence of both natural and atherogenic diets accelerated the clearance of thrombine-I131 and elevated the level of nonenzymatic fibrinolysis in the blood and tissue of the liver and lungs. In addition to the administration of thrombine-I131, intravenous heparin injections to animals kept for a long time on atherogenic diets and receiving Linethol with vitamin A provided for a still greater acceleration of thrombine-I131 clearance, which manifested itself in its faster absorption from blood by the liver in the form of a thrombine-I131 -- heparin complex, in an increasing total fibrinolytic activity and of its nonenzymatic fibrinolysis in blood plasma and tissues of the liver and lungs. This resulted in a partial restoration of the function of the anticoagulation system and an increase of the functional activity of the hepatic tissue directed at the consumption of the thrombine excess from the blood flow.

RESUMO

Decrease in 131I-thrombin clearance and decrease in absorption of complexes of thrombin with other substances in liver tissue were observed under conditions of depression of anticoagulation system found in animals maintained on altherogenic diet. Prolonged administration of an antisclerotic drug "Linetol" and of vitamin A into these animals promoted restoration of anticoagulation system. The restoration was tested by intensification of 131I-thrombin clearance and by accumulation of 131I-thrombin-heparin complex in liver tissue. Decrease in thrombin clearance, in combination with other tests, could be used for diagnosis of prethrombosis under conditions of experimental depression of anti-coagulation system.

RESUMO

With depressed function of the anticoagulation system in rats produced by their long-term maintenance on an atherogenic ration a rising fibrin-stabilizing activity of the XIII factor, by comparison with that in healthy animals and pertinent controls, is observed. A protracted administration to the animals with depressed function of the anticoagulation system of the compound "Linetol", that contains ethers of unsaturated fatty acids, given together with vitamin "A" results in a drastic fall of the factor XIII activity in the blood plasma with continued maintenance on the atherogenic diet.

RESUMO

On depression of the anticoagulating system's function due to a prolonged keeping of animals on aterogenic diet, a decrease in the speed of clearance of thrombin-J131 was observed in the blood flow, the absorption of non-fermentative dissolvents of unstabilized fibrin (the heparin complex compounds) is sharply reduced in the liver and lungs tissues, and the fatty dystrophy of the liver cells followed by appearance of vacuoles in cytoplasm and decrease of the RNA and total protein contents in the cells, was observed.
