RESUMO

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection therapy holds great promise in improving knee cartilage repair. This bibliometric analysis aimed to explore the research landscape in the application of PRP for knee osteoarthritis (KOA) over the last 15 years. All articles investigating PRP in the application of KOA were retrieved from the web of science core collection. Publications were analyzed using R software, VOS Viewer, CiteSpace, Microsoft Excel, and an online bibliometric platform (https://bibliometric.com/). A total of 815 articles were identified, 6 articles from 2010 had the highest average number of citations in the local database. Filardo G., Kon E., Cole B.J., Marcacci M., and Di Martino A. are the top 5 authors based on the H-index. The "American Journal Of Sports Medicine" is the most authoritative journal in the field of PRP application in KOA. The United States is the global leader in this field, with European countries playing a pivotal role in collaborative exchanges. Taipei Medical University is the most prolific institution and Shahid Beheshti University Medical Sciences in Iran the fastest-rising institution. The keywords "Hyaluronic Acid," "cartilage," "growth factors," "mesenchymal stem cells," "intra-articular injection," "pain," "inflammation," "double-blind," "management," "placebo," "stromal cells," "rheumatoid arthritis," and "pathology" appeared most frequently. "Exercise," "volume," and "physical-activity" are the latest hot topics. Future trends in this field include the standardization of injection components, injection sites, and injection methods, the modulation of useful or harmful growth factor receptor expression, sports management, and the validation of contraindications to PRP.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) refers to severe stroke subtype that may be life-threatening or even cause death. It is clinically observed that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be associated with the high mortality in ICH patients. Ferulic acid, one of the functional bioactive ingredients from medicinal herbs, has been preclinically proven with beneficial activities, including neuroprotection and anti-inflammation actions. Based on current findings, we assumed that ferulic acid may play the potentials against COVID-19 when ICH. In this study, preclinical approach including network pharmacology and molecular docking was applied to detect and identify the core targets and pharmacological mechanisms involved in ferulic acid on COVID-19 and ICH. The network pharmacology analysis identified total eleven core targets in ferulic acid and COVID-19/ICH. The molecular mechanisms of ferulic acid against COVID-19 and ICH were mostly involved in induction of antiviral activity, modulation of inflammatory reaction. Molecular docking model revealed that ferulic acid might effectively bind to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) protein based on strong binding capability. Current findings reflected the preclinical pharmacological activities of ferulic acid that might use for management of COVID-19 and ICH. Although there are the limitations that are absence of experimental validation, these bioinformatic results underline that ferulic acid may exert simultaneous potentials against COVID-19 and ICH through modulating integrative mechanisms and key biotargets.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a chronic degenerative disease that is closely related to the meniscus. Currently, no bibliometric studies have jointly analyzed KOA and the meniscus. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the knowledge structure of KOA and the meniscus across two decades and to identify the emerging research trends from a bibliometric perspective. Methods: All articles reporting KOA and the meniscus from 2001 to 2021 were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. R software, CiteSpace, VOS Viewer, and Microsoft Excel were used to analyze the publications including the authors, cited authors, journals, cited journals, country of research, institutions, and research focus. These data were used to generate visual knowledge maps of the outputs. Results: A total of 3,218 articles were retrieved. Guermazi was identified as the author who had contributed the most to the field and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage was identified as the most productive research journal. The United States is the global leader in the field and the center for international cooperation with less international collaboration occurring in Eastern Asia. Boston University was the most prolific institution. According to the data, "articular-cartilage," "meniscectomy," "follow-up," "anterior cruciate ligament," and "cartilage" were identified as research hotspots in the field. "Consequences," "prognostic-factors," and "receptor" were predicted as future hot topics of research. Conclusions: This study is the first comprehensive bibliometric study to jointly analyze KOA and the meniscus. Our data enable a better understanding of research trends and identify research hotspots and gaps in knowledge across the field. Our findings provide practical information for researchers to better understand the key research areas and identify the research frontiers and future hot topics.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the therapeutic results of surgical treatment for patellofemoral pain syndrome. METHODS: One hundred patients (35 males and 65 females, ranging from 50 to 70 years old with an average age of 63 years) with patellofemoral pain syndrome were randomly and equally divided into treatment group and control group. All patients underwent arthroscopic treatment. The patients in treatment group were treated with medial patellofemoral ligament overlap and lateral patellar retinaculum release, and the patients in control group were just treated with lateral patella retinaculum release which is a current widespread operation. RESULTS: All patients were followed-up with the mean time of 13 months, and were evaluated with HSS (hospital for special surgery) scoring system for the therapeutic effect. The mean score of treatment group (73.52+/-11.17) and control group (65.50+/-13.70) had statistical difference (P<0.05), which indicated that the therapeutic effect of medial patellofemoral ligament overlap and lateral patellar retinaculum release for treatment of patellofemoral pain syndrome was satisfying. CONCLUSION: Compared with lateral patellar retinaculum release, this procedure is superior in correcting the abnormal movement of patellofemoral joint, easily balancing patellofemoral joint space, effectively relieving the pain of anterior knee. No postoperative complications occur, such as intraarticular haematoma, necrosis and dislocation of patella and so on.
