The authors considered the interrelationship of clinical requirements and analytical indicators of quality for a group of pharmaceuticals: radionuclide purity (by the criteria of dose load and the quality of visualization); radiochemical purity (interrelationship with a necessary level of accumulation in investigated organs); chemical admixtures (by the criteria of safety and influence on the diagnostic quality; clinical criteria of quality were under discussion); a coefficient of differential accumulation in the system: organ under study-adjacent tissues; specificity; indices of pharmacokinetics, etc. Correct and all-round evaluation of RP quality on the basis of the above criteria determines, to a great extent, a choice of a labeled compound to be used in a specific radionuclide diagnostic method.

[Possibility of labelling erythrocytes with 99mTc in vitro using reagent kits]. / Vozmozhnosti metki éritrotsitov 99mTc in vitro s ispol'zovaniem naborov reagentov.

A possibility of in vitro labeling of erythrocytes with 99mTc using a kit of reagents (on the basis of DTPA, pyrophosphate, oxabifor, phytine) was studied. Optimum amounts of bivalent Sn [correction of Pb] were established for the reagents under study, and optimum kinetic parameters of labeling were defined. The yield of labeled erythrocytes under optimum conditions was over 95%.

[Study of the effect of arterial hypertension on the status of left- ventricular myocardium based on thallium-201 scintigraphic data]. / Vliianie arteria'lnoi gipertenzii na sostoianie miokarda levogo zheludochka po dannym stsintigrafii c 201Tl.

Functional relationship was examined between the parameters of myocardial perfusion, left ventricular myocardial mass, and complications developed in patients with coronary heart diseases concomitant with arterial hypertension. Examination was made of 102 patients with various natural history of arterial hypertension, of whom 53 had concomitant angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, sudden death, or rhythm disturbances. As "perfusion deficiency" progressed, the patients with complicated natural history of arterial hypertension were found to increase in number with higher left ventricular myocardial mass index. In patients with arterial hypertension, the critical hypertrophy phase in which the index of left ventricular myocardial mass was 110-120 gm2 was demonstrated to be followed by myocardial perfusion deficiency. If the myocardial mass index is 90 g/m2, it means a phase of compensatory hypertrophy, which shows higher myocardial perfusion.

[Search for optimum composition of radiopharmaceuticals for liver scintigraphy]. / Poisk optimal'nogo sostava RFP dlia stsintigrafii pecheni.

The paper considers an opportunity of using a method of design based on a scheme of a complete factor experiment to find an optimum drug composition, citing by way of example, a process of development of a diagnostic agent for liver scintigraphy on the basis of the calcium-phytate complex labelled with 99mTc taking into account biological behavior of drugs of various composition.

[Kinetics of hepatotropic radiopharmaceuticals]. / Kinetika gepatotropnykh RFP.

A study was made of the biological distribution of 131I labeled stains and 99mTc labeled iminodiacetic acid derivatives in 153 patients of whom 98 suffered from jaundice of different genesis. Significant differences of their behavior in the human body depending on the chemical structure of the compound were revealed. Blood clearance for the iminodiacetic acid derivatives was 1.5-2 times as high as compared to that for the labeled stains. The rate of transit via the hepatocyte was the highest in 99mTc-MESIDA (USSR) 99mTc-DIDA and 99mTc-TIDA. The rate and volume of the renal excretion of the radiopharmaceutical depended on the main substance molecular structure. Retarded blood clearance lowered excretion of the radiopharmaceuticals by the liver and their considerable excretion with urine were observed. The Soviet radiopharmaceuticals 99mTc-MESIDA and 99mTc-BUTILIDA by their pharmacokinetic characteristics and quality were in no way inferior to the best foreign analogs.
