[Bilateral testicular microlithiasis]. / Microlitiasis testicular bilateral.

OBJECTIVE: To report an uncommon case of testicular microlithiasis that was incidentally discovered. METHODS/RESULTS: A case of bilateral testicular microlithiasis in an 8-year-old boy that presented with a left scrotal cystic mass is described. Testicular microlithiasis was discovered on ultrasound evaluation. CONCLUSIONS: Bilateral testicular microlithiasis is a rare condition that requires control follow-up of tumor markers and by ultrasound since this condition has been associated with tumors.

[Evaluation of prazosin in the treatment of benign hypertrophy of the prostate. A case-control study]. / Valoración del Prazosín en el tratamiento de la hipertrofia benigna de próstata. Estudio caso-control.

A control-case study conducted in 56 patients, all diagnosed with benign prostate hypertrophy of which 36 were Prazosin-treated patients and the remaining 20 were controls. The patient's mictional signs and symptoms as well as flow parameters were monitored at 3 and 6 months, respectively. We conclude that Prazosin is an alpha-blocker useful in early prostate disorders and when no obstructive urological disease is present.

[Symptomatic treatment of benign hypertrophy of the prostate. Comparative study of prazosin and serenoa repens]. / Tratamiento sintomático de la hipertrofia benigna de próstata. Estudio comparativo entre Prazosin y Serenoa repens.

Forty-five patients diagnosed as having BPH and clinically diagnosed micturition disorders were entered in a therapeutic protocol. Twenty-five patients received Prazosin and the remaining 20 patients were treated with Serenoa Repens for a period of 12 weeks. The symptomatology was assessed by flowmetry and the patients were questioned as to the irritative symptoms. It can be concluded from the study that Prazosin is slightly more effective in controlling the irritative symptoms produced by BPH.

[Spontaneous renocolic fistula secondary to pyonephrosis of lithiasic etiology]. / Fistula renocólica espontánea secundaria a pionefrosis de etiología litiásica.

Description of one case of spontaneous fistulization between a renal calix and a descending colon, secondary to lithiasic pyonephrosis. Diagnosis was carried out by means of ascending pyelography without it being clinically suspected. Treatment is surgical, combining nephrectomy, fistula resection and closure of the colic gap. Etiology, favouring factors, diagnosis and treatment are explained.
