RESUMO

Experiments in small plots were performed to cultivate Hypericum perforatum L. var. angustifolium DC on light soil and at a sunny location in Bratislava. In the 1st year of vegetation the herb was not harvested. Harvests were made in the 2nd and 3rd years of vegetation and later plants died. In the course of the vegetation year it was possible to carry out three harvests on the rule. The 1st one was made just prior to blooming or at the stage of the onset of blooming, and only the blooming top parts were collected. The yield of the dry tops varied in dependence on the vegetation year, conditions of the location, age of the plants, and the date of the 1st harvest. From the two-years old plants, a whole-year yield of 8.12-14.87 kg. 10 m-2 of dry tops and from the three-years old plants, 8 kg.10 m-2, was obtained. The content of hypericin varied from 0.06 to 0.13%, and 60% ethanol extracted 21.7-27.9% of substances.

RESUMO

Within two vegetation periods, melissas from 17 European regions and the inland cultivar Citra were examined. Melissas differed in height, foliage, and essential oil content. In the cultivating conditions under study, two collections were possible in one year. In both experimental years at the stage just before blooming, or at the onset of blooming, plants 60-80 cm in height prevailed in the set. The share of leaves in the tops was 35-70%. In the second repeated harvest, plants with newly formed sprouts reached a height of 15-35 cm and had the best foliage (60-95%). The essential oil content in the leaves at the stage just prior to blooming, or at the onset of blooming, ranged from 0.06 to 0.16% (V/m), and the maximal essential oil content was in the plants from the second harvest (0.09-0.45%). The cultivar Citra was characterized by medium height (75-80 cm), stable values of foliage (1st harvest 55-60%, 2nd harvest 70-80%), and essential oil content (1st harvest 0.13%, 2nd harvest 0.23-0.27%).

RESUMO

Samples of Hyperici herba were obtained by harvesting Hypericum perforatum L. in different plant development stages. The relation of flower development phases in the drug's flower fraction was examined. The HPLC method was then employed for the analysis of the content of secondary metabolites in different flower ontogenesis phases. The content of dianthrones, derivatives of quercetin and hyperforin increased from the first bud phases (0.29%, 0.80%, and 2.47%, respectively) to flowers just opened (1.04%, 4.23% and 6.60%, respectively). The content of dianthrones and quercetin glycosides then decreased (in unripe fruits 0.11% and 0.08%, respectively), whereas the amounts of hyperforin increased to 8.07% in fruits. The content of I3,II8-biapigenin increased from 0.21% in small buds to 1.04% in buds just before opening and has then decreased gradually to a value of 0.02% in fruits. Rutin was not detected in the samples.

RESUMO

The paper analyzes the consumption of mass-produced preparations of teas from the viewpoint of the sort and the group of indication. The packed plant drugs and teas were classified into the groups of indication according to Wichtl's pharmacodynamic system and the consumption was expressed in physical and financial indices. It follows from the results that mass-produced teas represent on average 6.6% of total sales of OTC drugs and supplementary assortment per month. The highest average monthly consumption was achieved by packed plant drugs and teas from group VI, miscellaneous teas for external and internal use, group I, diseases of the stomach and intestines, and group II, diseases of the respiratory tract.
