RESUMO

Intraosseous median nerve entrapment at the level of the elbow can occur after a traumatic event such as fracture and/or dislocation of the elbow. It is considered a rare and severe entity. We present a rare case of nontraumatic median nerve entrapment inside the distal humerus. No article about atraumatic intraosseous entrapment was encountered in literature.

RESUMO

Clinodactyly can be produced by a longitudinal epiphyseal bracket that generates either a 'delta' or 'trapezoidal' phalanx. We present a case with a 15-year follow-up of bilateral clinodactyly of the little finger, to emphasize a 'wait-and-see' approach as self-remodelling of his phalanges occurred during growth.

RESUMO

Background: Lunate pseudarthrosis is a complication of lunate fractures and few cases are described in the literature. We designed a case series of lunate pseudarthrosis, to acknowledge this topic and to show our clinical experience. Methods: Four patients were included in this study. Three went through surgical treatment of lunate nonunion. Results: At 2 years' follow-up, patients had slight improvement of range of motion (ROM) and Quick-DASH score compared to preoperative measures, though two patients developed scaphocapitate, radiolunate or midcarpal osteoarthritis. The fourth patient is asymptomatic and is being followed up. Conclusions: Surgical options depend on the localization of the pseudarthrosis in the lunate. Fragment excision can be a good option when the fragment is small, preserving scapholunate (SL) stability. Caution must be taken with dorsal pole pseudarthrosis, regarding midcarpal osteoarthritis. Level of Evidence: Level IV (Therapeutic).

RESUMO

Neuropathy of the digital nerves of the hand are very uncommon. Few studies dealt with spontaneous atraumatic digital nerve palsy. Repetitive micro-traumatisms and anatomical variants were implicated in nerve compression. This case report presents a patient with idiopathic common digital nerve constrictive neuropathy.

RESUMO

Tarsal coalitions have an incidence of 2% and are often underdiagnosed. These are considered to be one of the causes of chronic ankle and foot pain. Among all tarsal coalitions, the talonavicular type represents a rare and uncommon condition. The purpose of this article was to present the case of a 35-year-old male patient with a bilateral talonavicular coalition treated conservatively. A review of the literature was also performed to understand the management of this rare condition.
