RESUMO

The authors have observed 55 patients with fresh fractures, with disturbances in consolidation (delayed consolidation, non-union of fractures, false joints) and with defects of diaphyses of the long bones. In the fracture area the dynamics of oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) was studied and volarographic investigations (determination of the volumetric speed of the local blood flow by hydrogen, a test with oxygen load) were carried out. Certain correlation between the quantity and the dynamics of the values under study and the state of the consolidation process was established. Coincidence of the dynamics of ORP and the local blood flow, presence of the quantity of volumetric speed of the local blood flow of 25-30 ml/min per 100 g of tissue with rather high ORP and a positive test under oxygen load in the polarographic study were prognostically favourable. The applied methods allow to control the course of the process of consolidation of the fragments and to a certain extent prognosticate the results of treatment of the patients with fractures of the long bones.

RESUMO

Changes in the sequence of the stimulation of the epicardial surface of a transplanted heart were studied on a heterotopic model in dogs in different periods after the operation. It was found that in the first hours the disturbances in stimulation are diffuse, but later they are of a more restricted character. These disturbances disappear completely by the 2nd day. On the 3rd-4th day the disorders of stimulation conduction reappear in limited areas, which corresponds with the developing focal morphological changes. The gradual increase in the area of disturbed stimulation conduction and in the intensity of the damage by the time of the rejection crisis were attended by a decrease of the P wave amplitude, deceleration of heart beats, development of atrioventricular block, the occurrence of heterotopic impulses, and disorganization of ventricular stimulation.

RESUMO

Studies of orthostatic effects on the renal hemodynamics and excretory function of the dog showed an increase in the heart rate, a fall in the arterial and venous pressure and a decline of the Na and K concentrations in the urine. The studies demonstrated that changes in the renal excretory function were a compensatory hemodynamic reaction to the gravity effect associated wtih an alteration of the body position in space.
