RESUMO

365 females followed up for 4-6 years who had new-onset or repeated nephropathy at pregnancy (NP) showed during the II and III trimester impaired humoral immunity evident from elevated levels of IgA, IgM and CIC. NP relapses at repeated pregnancies occurred in 89%, residual manifestations of the disease in 45% of the examinees. Postnatal immunological studies of women with previous NP but no clinical signs of it at the time of examination still continued to demonstrate alterations in cellular and humoral immunity. Glomerular filtration rate in response to water loading indicated their reduced renal reserves. It is suggested that in nonpregnant females with an NP history this disease runs a subclinical course which may be considered a remission. This dictates certain diagnostic and therapeutic measures that should be taken to prevent complications. NP patients follow-up and regular check-ups help to decrease relevant risk at subsequent pregnancies.

RESUMO

Examinations of 518 refinery workers have helped define the dermatologic morbidity structure. Immunologic examinations have been carried out in 82 workers. 70 of these have developed skin abnormalities (toxicoderma, eczema, itching, hyperkeratosis, vascular spots, abnormal pigmentation, etc.). The studies have revealed reduced levels of the cell-mediated immunity parameters: T-lymphocytes, T-theophylline-sensitive lymphocytes, and decreased functional activities thereof); this has been parallelled by activation of the humoral immunity.

RESUMO

The investigations of changes of antibody affinities were carried out with 182 immuned CBA mice under the influence of the mutagens. The mice were injected with ethylene imine and its derivatives, 6-azauridine, cyanurchloride, theobromine, glyoxal, at a dose of 100 mg/kg 2 days before, simultaneously and in 2 and 5 days after the immunization. The indices of the functional affinity of antibodies (the mean constant of true association, the standard free energy, the concentration of the hapten binding sites, the heterogeneity index, the level of IgG and its Fab- and Fc-fragments) were determined within 5, 10 and 20 days. Three groups of changes of antibody affinities in immuned mice were observed under the influence of mutagens: a) disassotiative changes with acute fall of affinities; b) erase changes; c) variable changes with discrete and corrective displacement of some affinities indices. Analysis of the data obtained suggests the existence of two forms of the mutagen immunodepression: 1) real immunodepression with a parallel fall of primary and secondary indices of antigen-intibody interaction; and 2) functional immunodepression with a fall of secondary indices. Polyfunctionality of the inhibition effect of alkyl mutagens is demonstrated.
