RESUMO

The femoral vascular access may be the only alternative when the upper limbs venous capital is exhausted. Five patients benefited from the setting up of a tunneled femoral catheter, for a median period of three months (three months minimum, eleven months maximum). No early complication has been observed. The infectious and thrombotic problems were late to appear and with no serious consequences. The new generation of biocompatible and flexible catheters can keep in place for a long time in femoral.

RESUMO

The mutation for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (APKD) has been mapped by linkage analysis on the distal part of the short arm of chromosome 16. We present in this study the results of linkage analysis using the two most tightly linked DNA markers (3'HVR and 24-1) in 183 members of 14 families of a same ethnic origin. We have constructed haplotypes using these two polymorphic probes, and compared the frequency of these on the normal and the affected chromosome. No evidence of linkage heterogeneity was found in our population.

RESUMO

The observation of a 61 year old woman who had a diffuse interstitial fibrosis, a pulmonary tuberculosis and a disease of heavy gamma chains is reported here. The different tumoral and infectious pneumopathies during monoclonal gammapathies are analyzed. In the opposite, there are the various abnormalities observed in thoracic pathology: chronic infections, pulmonary tuberculosis and diffuse interstitial fibrosis.
