RESUMO

Clin App is a platform streamlining medical appointment management and patient data collection using a conversational agent. Focused on healthcare professionals and patients, it offers appointment automation, questionnaire creation, and medical data management. This work showcases ClinApp's microservices-based architecture and its user-centered design.

RESUMO

Appointment Scheduling (AS), typically serves as the basis for the majority of non-urgent healthcare services and is a fundamental healthcare-related procedure which, if done correctly and effectively, can lead to significant benefits for the healthcare facility. The main objective of this work is to present ClinApp, an intelligent system able to schedule and manage medical appointments and collect medical data directly from patients.

RESUMO

Although research interest in leader narcissism has been on the rise over the past few years, prior literature has predominantly discussed leader narcissism from a leader-centric perspective. In this article, we provide a relational-based perspective of leader narcissism by examining the interaction between follower personality traits and leader narcissism on follower engagement in an online context. We combine a machine learning (ML) approach and multiverse analysis to predict the personality traits of a large sample of leaders and engaged followers across 18 created multiverses and analyze hypothesized interactions using multilevel regressions, also accounting for leader gender moderation effects. We find that the interaction between leader narcissism and follower agreeableness and follower neuroticism positively predicts follower engagement, whereas the interaction between leader narcissism and follower openness negatively predicts follower engagement. In addition, we find that leader gender plays an important moderating role. Limitations and implications are discussed.

RESUMO

Ubiquitous self-tracking technologies have penetrated various aspects of our lives, from physical and mental health monitoring to fitness and entertainment. Yet, limited data exist on the association between in the wild large-scale physical activity patterns, sleep, stress, and overall health, and behavioral and psychological patterns due to challenges in collecting and releasing such datasets, including waning user engagement or privacy considerations. In this paper, we present the LifeSnaps dataset, a multi-modal, longitudinal, and geographically-distributed dataset containing a plethora of anthropological data, collected unobtrusively for the total course of more than 4 months by n = 71 participants. LifeSnaps contains more than 35 different data types from second to daily granularity, totaling more than 71 M rows of data. The participants contributed their data through validated surveys, ecological momentary assessments, and a Fitbit Sense smartwatch and consented to make these data available to empower future research. We envision that releasing this large-scale dataset of multi-modal real-world data will open novel research opportunities and potential applications in multiple disciplines.

RESUMO

Within the most recent years, most of the cancer patients are older age, which implies the necessity to a better understanding of aging and cancer connection. This work presents the LifeChamps solution built on top of cutting-edge Big Data architecture and HPC infrastructure concepts. An innovative architecture was envisioned supported by the Big Data Value Reference Model and answering the system requirements from high to low level and from logical to physical perspective, following the "4+1 architectural model".

RESUMO

Biomedical literature databases constitute valuable repositories of up to date scientific knowledge. The development of efficient machine learning methods in order to facilitate the organization of these databases and the extraction of novel biomedical knowledge is becoming increasingly important. Several of these methods require the representation of the documents as vectors of variables forming large multivariate datasets. Since the amount of information contained in different datasets is voluminous, an open issue is to combine information gained from various sources to a concise new dataset, which will efficiently represent the corpus of documents. This paper investigates the use of the multivariate statistical approach, called Non-Linear Canonical Correlation Analysis (NLCCA), for exploiting the correlation among the variables of different document representations and describing the documents with only one new dataset. Experiments with document datasets represented by text words, Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and Gene Ontology (GO) terms showed the effectiveness of NLCCA.
