RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Conducting a scientific analysis of domestic and foreign sources of information on modern views on the organization and implementation of preventive measures among the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: Used methods of historical-bibliographic and systematic approach. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The article defines the structure, tasks and functions of the Center for Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in accordance with current legislation and substantiates the feasibility of reforming the preventive medicine service to monitor the health of servicemen, environment and dangerous or harmful factors.

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Is to determine the actual energy costs of servicemen on the qualification course of special operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to substantiate the adequate nutritional and energy value of their diet. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The actual average daily energy consumption of 85 servicemen of the qualification course (hereinafter - Q-course) of special operations of AF of Ukraine was determined by time-table and instrumental methods. By laboratory, calculation and questionnaire methods, the compensatory possibilities of their actual nutrition were assessed. RESULTS: Results: The data obtained indicate that the highest indicators of energy expenditures among servicemen were during the first phase of selection of the Q-course at the level of an average value of 6853 ± 963.9 kilocalories (hereinafter - kcal) per day. At the same time, the calorie content of actual food consumed only by 55.7% provided compensation for the average daily energy costs. In this regard, we have developed and implemented "Organizational and Methodological Guidelines for Rational Nutrition of Servicemen of SOF of AF of Ukraine". CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The actual nutrition of the military personnel on the Q-course of SOF of AF of Ukraine does not fully compensate for their real energy losses. The nutritional and energy value of the daily diet requires revision and bringing it into line with the actual energy consumption, depending on the preparation phases.

In Italy, requests for advanced training in veterinary public health are increasing, both quantitatively and qualitatively; traditional training models are inadequate to satisfy demand. The integration of the new information and communication technologies with interactive learning methods favoured the development of advanced and innovative web-based learning solutions. The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise (IZS A&M), centre for advanced training in veterinary public health, is changing its offer, moving from traditional models to the new solutions offered by e-learning. Training performed through the new information and communication technologies is a great challenge, not only because it employs advanced technologies, but most of all because it requires the development of new teaching strategies, better suited to the beneficiaries of thee learning solutions. In order to better face these new opportunities and to apply them properly to the reference market, the IZS A&M conducted a survey to analyse training requests in veterinary matters and potential participants in e-learning initiatives. This investigation was performed to define the e-learning knowledge of veterinarians who usually participate in training courses (and, in this specific case, of veterinarians who attended traditional courses carried out by the IZS A&M), their familiarity with information technologies and their interest in terms of learning content. Two hundred and four people were interviewed: 32% knew what e-learning was and 97.6% were interested in attending this kind of course.

We studied the properties of various fused combinations of the components of the mitochondrial cholesterol side-chain cleavage system including cytochrome P450scc, adrenodoxin (Adx), and adrenodoxin reductase (AdR). When recombinant DNAs encoding these constructs were expressed in Escherichia coli, both cholesterol side-chain cleavage activity and sensitivity to intracellular proteolysis of the three-component fusions depended on the species of origin and the arrangement of the constituents. To understand the assembly of the catalytic domains in the fused molecules, we analyzed the catalytic properties of three two-component fusions: P450scc-Adx, Adx-P450scc, and AdR-Adx. We examined the ability of each fusion to carry out the side-chain cleavage reaction in the presence of the corresponding missing component of the whole system and examined the dependence of this reaction on the presence of exogenously added individual components of the double fusions. This analysis indicated that the active centers in the double fusions are either unable to interact or are misfolded; in some cases they were inaccessible to exogenous partners. Our data suggest that when fusion proteins containing P450scc, Adx, and AdR undergo protein folding, the corresponding catalytic domains are not formed independently of each other. Thus, the correct folding and catalytic activity of each domain is determined interactively and not independently.
