[Dynamics of histamine content in the rat uterus compartments according to the stages of the estrous cycle (a fluorescence histochemical study)].

The purpose of the present study was to detect the main histamine-containing structures of the rat uterus and to study the changes of its content during the estrous cycle. The work was performed during the autumn-winter period using 120 female rats that were divided into groups according to the stages of the estrous cycle: early estrus, late estrus, metestrus, early diestrus, late diestrus, proestrus. Cryostat sections of uterine corpus and cervix were studied using fluorescent-histochemical method with the orthophthalic aldehyde. The histamine content was determined in mast cells, macrophages, surface and glandular epithelial cells, smooth myocytes in the tunics of the uterine corpus and cervix, as well as in the contents of the uterine cavity. During the sexual cycle, the highest histamine concentrations were detected in mast cells, especially in those located in the myometrium. In most of the bioamine-positive cellular elements of the uterine wall, the minimal histamine content was found in metestrus. As a result of a computer-statistical analysis, it was demonstrated that the intraorgan histamine metabolism in the structures of the uterine tunics studied, was characterized by phase and regional specificity together with the dynamic nature of temporal coupling of histamine content.

[Uterus sympathetic nervous apparatus in sexual cycle dynamics in rats].

Uterus sympathetic nervous apparatus in various phases of sexual cycle in rats was studied with the microspectral fluorescent method. The main part of nervous fibers in the form of perivascular plexus and terminals deviating from them are localized in myometrium. We suppose presence of reserve ("silent") nervous fibers in uterus which explains the inconstancy of their revealing in the organ. Catecholamines and serotonin are identified in varicose enlargements and intervaricose parts of nervous fibers by the way of microspectrofluorometry. Their concentration in probing places is characterized by high degree of linear correlation at all stages of sexual cycle. Maximal concentration of bioamines in most structural elements of uterus sympathetic nervous apparatus in detected in late diestrus. Stages of early and late estrus and proestrus are characterized by low levels of monoamines in adrenergic fibers. A number of reliable differences between bioamines saturation and spatial distribution density of nervous fibers in the neck and body of the womb are revealed.

[Bioamine-positive structures in the rat mesometrium and their changes in the estrous cycle].

The objective of this study was to demonstrate main bioamine-positive structures in rat mesometrium, to detect their spatial cooperations and to define their catecholamine, serotonin and histamin content during the sexual cycle. The study was performed in 120 female rats of reproductive age, which were divided into groups according to the stages of sexual cycle: early estrus, late estrus, metestrus, early diestrus, late diestrus, proestrus. By using the microspectrofluorometric histological methods, the following bioamine-positive structures were differentiated in rat mesometrium that were cooperated in space: sympathetic nerve fibers (containing catecholamines and serotonin), mast cells and macrophages (containing catecholamines, serotonin and histamine). Regular dynamics of individual bioamine indices was detected during the sexual cycle. The role of mesometrium in the system of uterine extraorganic bioamine supply is discussed.

Porophor P-18-S LD50 is 712.5 mg/kg. This substance is not characterized by cumulative or irritating properties. It has an expressed neurotropic and allergenic effects, can induce anemia and leukocytosis in animals. Work with this substance is allowed on condition of eye and respiratory route protection. Its MAC for working environment is 3.08 mg/m3.

In order to improve radiodiagnosis of chronic and venous insufficiency of the lower limbs, the soft tissues and skeleton of the affected limbs were x-rayed in 120 patients with disturbed venous outflow (60 with varicosity and 60 with the post-thrombophlebitic syndrome - PTPS). The limb soft tissue changes in this disease were shown to be of one type and looked like the thickening of subcutaneous fat; obscure boundaries of the muscles with subcutaneous fat, the narrowing of intermuscular layers, the absence of differentiation of separate muscular groups, visible varices, calcifications of soft tissues and phleboliths. Bone changes appeared later than the clinical signs of disease and were as follows: regional and diffuse osteoporosis, various kinds of periostoses (scaled or partially assimilated linear, multilayer and pectiniform) and hyperostosis. Longitudinal platypodia and transverse foot flattening caused by dysfunction of the musculoligamentous apparatus and increasing venous congestion in the lower limbs were seen in most of the patients.

The complex study of the venous and lymphatic system in 151 patient with different forms of the impairement in venous outflow was carried out. The direct dependence of the state of the lymphatic system of the lower extremities on the state of hemodynamics was noted.

According to histochemical data (Falck method in modification), cytofluorimetric analysis, as well as the results of regressive modelling, localization and quantitative interaction of bioamines in the sympathetic nervous plexuses of the rat thyroid gland have been estimated. In the intact state a relatively firm correlation between serotonin and catecholamine concentrations is revealed in all parts investigated in the intraorganic nervous apparatus. Effect of thyrostatic--merkazolil--results in development of certain discrepancy between intensification of bioamines uptake and ability of thyrocytes to their functionally useful utilization. A suggestion is made that dynamic equilibrium of serotonin and catecholamines ratio in the thyroid sympathetic nervous fibers is one of the factors for maintenance of the function-proliferative balance of the gland working elements at the level, adequate to the active situation.

By means of the fluorescent-histochemical method for revealing monoamines in combination with morphometric analysis and radiologic testing, the thyroid gland activity has been estimated. The spatial characteristics of the perivascular and parafollicular adrenergic plexuses are closely interrelated in time with fluctuations of the specific thyroid function that accompanies the development of the organism's adaptation. Redistribution of the monoamines transport canals towards structures of the greatest functional strain results in an increased density of the parafollicular sympathetic neural apparatus which directly performs the adaptational-trophic influence on thyrocytes. This ensures the status of a moderate hyperactivity in the organ.

[Method of determining the closeness of correlation for curvilinear functions in biomedical research]. / O metode otsenki tesnoty korreliatsionnoi sviazi pri krivolineinoi zavisimosti v mediko-biologicheskikh issledovaniiakh.

A curvilinear association of data is the mostly widespread in nature. A method seldomly used in morphology but, at the same time, the only correct one to estimate the degree of association between the data at their curvilinear dependence by means of calculating correlative ratios is presented. The correlative ratio, unlike the coefficient of correlation, is the universal index demonstrating the degree of interconnection between the data and characterizes the bilateral contingency of the degree of association. In order to illustrate the field of application and to interpret the method in question, the author's morphometric investigation of peripheral myelin fibres is given as an example. Formulae for calculating the corrective association are presented and the properties of the latter are enumerated.
