[Ozone hemotherapy and endogenous intoxication in gestoses]. / Ozonogemoterapiia i éndogennaia intoksikatsiia pri gestozakh.

The paper is concerned with the study of chief markers of endogenous intoxication such as bodily content of medium-weight molecules (MWM) in patients with grave forms of gestoses, as well as with quest for ways of initiating a correcting therapy. Results of complex studies permitted coming to the conclusion that endogenous intoxication in different forms of gestoses runs its course through stages. This validates not only MWM levels but peculiarities of their distribution in erythrocytes, blood plasma and urine of patients as well. In particular, a change in the urine MWM level depends on the functional state of the Kidneys. Decline in bodily content of the studied toxic substrates owing to inclusion of ozone hemotherapy in conventional intensive therapy of gestoses makes for an appreciable lessening of the degree of catabolic disturbances.

In mass admission of wounded patients quick rational medical sorting is of primary importance. Anesthesiology and intensive care service performs organization and specific medical work. Gun-shot peritonitis is characterized by initial multiorgan insufficiency and instability of central hemodynamic index. We used planned neuroplegia and sedatives of benzodiazepine type in severe craniocerebral trauma. In fat embolism of cerebral vessels we used lipostabil and heparin. There were also cases of heart wounds and injuries.

[Characteristics of total blood protein measurement during infusion therapy]. / Osobennosti opredeleniia obshchego belka syvorotki krovi pri infuzionnoi terapii.

The authors have modified R. Flores' method of protein measurements in solutions with bromophenol blue and suggest their modification for measurements of the blood serum total proteins. Experimental and clinical data have confirmed the significant effect of elevated blood levels of glucose and dextrans on the values of blood serum total proteins measured by the common biuret and refractometric methods. The bromophenol blue method is free from these disadvantages. The technique is recommended, first of all, for the infusion therapy departments. The method is highly specific, unsophisticated, and rapid, and is recommended for wide practical use in both inpatient and outpatient clinics. It can be used to measure proteins in other biologic fluids and solutions, provided its levels are not lower than 100 micrograms/ml.

[A sorption microfilter for blood transfusions]. / Sorbtsionnyi mikrofil'tr dlia gemotransfuzii.

A special device is developed to purify the conserved blood from microaggregations and toxic agents. It also decreases the CO2 level and the citrate content. The device combines the properties of a microfilter and a sorption column. The specifications of the device are given.
