RESUMO

The mechanism of vibroprotective action for nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker, was studied in myocardiocytes of rabbits. The shifts in functional activity of mitochondria were registered after prolonged common vibration of rabbits during 56 days (1 h every day). Nifedipine (7.5 mg/kg per os) activated NAD-depended site of respiratory chain and prevented hyperactivation of succunate-depended breath. The positive energotropic action of nifedipine was accompanied by stability of histomorphological cytoarchitechture of rabbit myocardium, wich was disturbed in nontreated animals. It is suggested that nifedipine protects myocardium from prolonged action of vibration.

RESUMO

The mechanisms of protective action of thiobenzimidazole derivatives metaprot and ethomerzol (25 and 50 mg/kg) have been studied on a model of carbophos intoxication (256.0 +/- 8.7 mg/kg) in rats. Both compounds recovered the resistance to physical loads in forced swimming test, normalized the activity of aspartate and alanine transaminases, and reduced bilirubin, creatinine, and urea nitrogen levels in the blood serum. The intoxication was accompanied with increasing concentration of malonic dialdehyde and decreasing level of recovered glutation in the blood, as well as with the signs of endogenic intoxication. Metaprot and ethomerzol diminished disorders of both the lipid peroxidation and endogenic intoxication processes. Thus, the antihypoxic, antioxidant, actoprotective, energotropic, and reparative effects of metaprot and ethomerzol have been proved. Ethomerzol was more effective than metaprot in these tests.

RESUMO

The purpose of the paper was to study the activity of energy producing system of the rabbit myocardium, liver and kidneys after exposure to local vibration during 7 days. The energy dependent reactions of native mitochondria were investigated by means of polarographic method using dark closed membrane electrode. The intensivity ofoxydative processes was assessed according to activity of the lymphocyte succinate dehydrogenase and catalase of the blood. The energy producing system of the tissues studied was shown to be involved in response reaction of the organism on vibration exposure. In that case we observed the formation of the second phase ofbioenergy hypoxia in the myocardium and kidneys and the first phase ofhypoxia in the liver.

The aim of the paper was to study the mechanism of vibroprotective action of nifedipine, a blocker of L-type calcium channels, on cardiomyocytes of a rabbit. The enegry-dependent reactions of native mitochondria of rabbit myocardium were studied by polarographic method using Clark's type close membrane electrode. The changes in functional activity of mitochondria like low energy shift with activation of succinate oxidation and inhibition of NAD-depended chain of mitochondria breath were observed after prolong common vibration within 56 days. Nifedipine 7.5 mg/kg orally activated NAD-dependent site of cell breath and reduced hyperactivation of succinate-dependent breath by means of down-up mechanism. The positive energotropic effect of nifedipine was accompanied with retention of hystomorphological architecture of the myocardium. Therefore, nifedipine defends energy metabolism in the myocardium in chronic exposure of common vibration.

The aim of the paper was to study the mechanism of vibroprotective action of cuccinate on cardiomyocytes of a rabbit. The changes in functional activity of mitochondria were observed after prolong common vibration within 56 days. Cuccinate 8.4 mg/kg per os activated NAD-dependent site of cell breath and reduced hyperactivation of cuccinate-dependent breath by means of down-up mechanism. The positive energotropic effect of succinate was accompanied with retention of histomorphological architecture of the myocardium. Therefore, cuccinate defends the myocardium in chronic exposure of common vibration.

The purpose of the paper was to study the activity of energy producing system of the rabbit myocardium after exposure to different regimens of genera vibration. The energy-dependent responses of native mitochondria were investigated in rabbits by means of polarographic method using Clark's closed membrane electrode. The changes in functional activity of mitochondria depended on the regimens of general vibration (frequency and duration) and were manifested in imbalance between functional activity of FAD- and NAD-depended chains of cell breath. The increase of frequency and duration of vibration was accompanied with disfunction of energy producing systems.

Serum samples from 641 workers of large poultry and meat-packing plants were studied in the passive hemagglutination test with the use of Salmonella complex and serogroup diagnostica. A specific increase in the level of anti-Salmonella antibodies in 60.7% of poultry plant workers and in 9.8% of meat-packing plant workers was established. Among the workers of the poultry plants the most pronounced immune shifts were detected in persons having contacts with sick poultry and pathological material and among the employees of the meat-packing plant, in those who ate raw sausage meat. A high level of antibodies in the professional groups under study was observed as early as in the first year of work at the plant and persisted over the whole period of this work. Under the conditions of constant contamination of the workers of poultry and meat-packing plants with small doses of salmonellae specific immunity to this infection was seemingly induced, which inhibited the development of the manifest forms of infection, but did not prevent the formation of chronic carrier state.
