RESUMO

Excess sludge is rich in organic matter but also contains heavy metals, pathogens, and harmful substances. In this study, hydroaluminite and excess sludge were used as raw materials to reduce the risk of heavy metals leaching from sludge by coagulation and co-pyrolysis, and its phosphate adsorption characteristics were studied. The results showed that the leaching amount of Zn, Cu, Cd, and Ni in sludge biochar decreased with the increase in the hydroaluminite dosage. The sludge biochar composite (1:1HB800), prepared by co-pyrolysis of hydroaluminite and excess sludge with a mass ratio of 1:1 as well as rich in calcium and aluminum, had lowest leaching risk of heavy metals and showed the high adsorption capacity for phosphate. The process could be fitted by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm (R2=0.93), and the maximum phosphate adsorption capacity at 25℃ was 51.38 mg·g-1. The pseudo second-order kinetic model could well describe the adsorption process of 1:1HB800 for high concentration phosphate, and its adsorption rate was controlled by both surface adsorption and particle diffusion. Compared with that in the neutral solution, 1:1HB800 had better phosphate capacity in the acidic and alkaline aqueous solutions, which was related to the leaching amount of calcium/aluminum in 1:1HB800 and the existence form of aluminum under the different pH conditions. FTIR, XRD, SEM, zero potential point, and Ca2+/Al3+ leaching experiments indicated that the main adsorption mechanisms for phosphate by 1:1HB800 were co-precipitation (interaction between Ca2+/Al3+ and phosphate), ligand exchange (hydroxyl), and electrostatic interaction. Therefore, 1:1HB800 can provide a feasible alternative for the removal of phosphate in aqueous solutions and also provide a potential new method for the resource utilization and harmless treatment of excess sludge.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This meta-analysis was conducted with the aim of investigating the association between WNT3 gene polymorphisms and non-syndromic cleft lip (CL) with or without cleft palate (NSCL/P) predisposition. METHODS: A comprehensive literature search was performed in six online databases including PubMed, Embase, ISI Web of Science, CENTRAL, CNKI, and Wanfang from inception up to June 2018 without language restriction. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated under allele model of inheritance to indicate the association between WNT3 polymorphisms and NSCL/P. Risk of bias was assessed through the Newcastle-Ottawa scale (NOS). Predetermined stratified and sensitivity analyses were performed using the RevMan 5.3 software, publication bias were evaluated by Egger's and Begg's tests. RESULTS: Seven case-control studies comprising 1617 NSCL/P patients and 2143 healthy controls were identified and included in the present study, a total of eight loci were investigated in the present study: rs3809857 was significantly associated with NSCL/P vulnerability (G compared with T, OR = 1.34, 95%CI: 1.15-1.56, P=0.0001), a significant association between rs9890413 polymorphism and NSCL/P susceptibility (A compared with G, OR = 1.25, 95%CI: 1.06-1.47, P=0.007) was detected as well. Since only few studies reported detailed data about the association between rs142167, rs7207916, rs199498, rs111769, rs12452064, rs11653738, and NSCL/P risk, these results were not combined using meta-analysis. CONCLUSION: Based on the findings of our current study, the rs3809857 and rs9890413 polymorphisms of WNT3 appeared to be associated with NSCL/P. Limited evidence is found to support the association between other WNT3 polymorphisms and risk of NSCL/P.

RESUMO

In this study, carbohydrates (cellulose plus hemicellulose) in corncob were effectively converted furfuralcohol (FOL) via chemical-enzymatic catalysis in a one-pot manner. After corncob (2.5 g, dry weight) was pretreated with 0.5 wt% oxalic acid, the obtained corncob-derived xylose (19.8 g/L xylose) could be converted to furfural at 60.1% yield with solid acid catalyst SO42-/SnO2-attapulgite (3.6 wt% catalyst loading) in the water-toluene (3:1, v/v) at 170 °C for 20 min. Moreover, the oxalic acid-pretreated corncob residue (1.152 g, dry weight) was enzymatically hydrolyzed to 0.902 g glucose and 0.202 g arabinose. Using the corncob-derived glucose (1.0 mM glucose/mM furfural) as cosubstrate, the furfural liquor (48.3 mM furfural) was successfully biotransformed to FOL by recombinant Escherichia coli CCZU-A13 cells harboring an NADH-dependent reductase (SsCR) in the water-toluene (4:1, v/v) under the optimum conditions (50 mM PEG-6000, 0.2 mM Zn2+, 0.1 g wet cells/mL, 30 °C, pH 6.5). After the bioreduction for 2 h, FAL was completely converted to FOL. The FOL yield was obtained at 0.11 g FOL/g corncob. Clearly, this one-pot synthesis strategy shows high potential application for the effective synthesis of FOL.

RESUMO

One-pot synthesis of furfuralcohol from corncob-derived xylose was attempted by the tandem catalysis with solid acid SO42-/SnO2-kaoline and recombination Escherichia coli CCZU-T15 whole-cells in the toluene-water media. Using SO42-/SnO2-kaoline (3.5wt%) as catalyst, the furfural yield of 74.3% was obtained from corncob-derived xylose in the toluene-water (1:2, v:v) containing 10mM OP-10 at 170°C for 30min. After furfural liquor was mixed with corncob-hydrolysate from the enzymatic hydrolysis of oxalic acid-pretreated corncob residue, furfural (50.5mM) could be completely biotransformed to furfuralcohol with Escherichia coli CCZU-T15 whole-cells harboring an NADH-dependent reductase (ClCR) in the toluene-water (1:3, v:v) containing 12.5mM OP-10 and 1.6mM glucose/mM furfural at 30°C and pH 6.5. Furfuralcohol was obtained at 13.0% yield based on starting material corncob (100% furfuralcohol yield for bioreduction of furfural step). Clearly, this one-pot synthesis of furfuralcohol strategy shows high potential application for the effective utilization of corncob.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to analyze the association between Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Internet addiction (IA). METHODS: A systematic literature search was performed in four online databases in total including CENTRAL, EMBASE, PubMed and PsychINFO. Observational studies (case-control, cross-sectional and cohort studies) measuring the correlation between IA and ADHD were screened for eligibility. Two independent reviewers screened each article according to the predetermined inclusion criteria. A total of 15 studies (2 cohort studies and 13 cross-sectional studies) met our inclusion criteria and were included in the quantitative synthesis. Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS: A moderate association between IA and ADHD was found. Individuals with IA were associated with more severe symptoms of ADHD, including the combined total symptom score, inattention score and hyperactivity/impulsivity score. Males were associated with IA, whereas there was no significant correlation between age and IA. CONCLUSIONS: IA was positively associated with ADHD among adolescents and young adults. Clinicians and parents should pay more attention to the symptoms of ADHD in individuals with IA, and the monitoring of Internet use of patients suffering from ADHD is also necessary. Longitudinal studies controlling for baseline mental health are needed.

RESUMO

Body weight and body length have been considered as the most important production traits for the fish genetic improvement. For cold-water fish, body length was usually substituted by fork length. In order to estimate the heritability of body weight and fork length of the sixth generation Oncorhynchus masou masou, which was introduced into China, the method of unbalanced nest design and an artificial insemination technigue were used. Twenty-nine full-sib families and fourteen half-sib families were obtained. Body weight and fork length of O. masou masou were measured in 12 and 24 months after fertilization. Based on full-sib and half-sib families data, the causal components of phenotypic variance were calculated. The results showed that, (1) during the whole growth phase of O. masou masou, the coefficient variation (CV) of fork length was higher than body weight, and CV of 12-month old was higher than that of 24-month old; (2) body weight and fork length of O. masou masou among sires and dams among sires were significant difference (P<0.01) both at 12 months and at 24 months; (3) the maternal component estimates were significantly larger than those of paternal ones for body weight and fork length traits both at 12 months and at 24 months; (4) for 12 months of O. masou masou the heritabilities of body weight and fork length were 0.41~0.51 and 0.46~0.54, respectively. For 24 months the values were 0.55~0.60 and 0.53~0.59, respectively; and (5) it was concluded that the heritability of growth traits in O. masou masou was relatively high and this highlights the potential to improve its growth through selective breeding. This study shows important data supporting for further genetic improvement of O. masou masou.
